Galaga went through the same issue Atar

We tried that strat to help out our dps, but it was a total cluster when p3 hit.  Granted, we have not downed the boss as an entire raid, but we've gotten him to 4% p3 twice on Tue, so we're close and we didn't go with that strat.  I'm not saying don't try it, because every raid is different, but for us it was a step back.

We also tried 1 tank 2 healz, because we're dps short.  That was going ok, but after empowered whirls and running around to heal everyone and the 1 tank is suffering, lots of rng deaths.  Maybe it works better for you.  For us 2 tanks 2 healz seems to be the best, due to our low dps.  All the best Animal Crackers, kick some ass tonight!

I think we're wasting too much

Atar — Tue, 03/11/2014 - 08:18

I think we're wasting too much time and dps on Desecrated Weapon in P2.  Do you guys think we could ignore them after the first transition phase?  Start using the whole room after this first transition?  Has anyone in guild used this strat?  I just feel that we're not making use of a massive room like we should be.

So I would imagine it would

So I would imagine it would go something like this. Start in the bottom right (from a top down view) and move along the wall to the left, Only going to the edge to drop every desecrate to make the most of your space. There's roughly 5 (depending on your DPS) Desecrated weapons in P2 so theorectically you would only fill one wall. Now also remember that you want to be as CLOSE to the wall as possible but not on the fire (the fire actually hurts) and hug each one. This start makes for a ton of moving on the melee's part.

The one hiccup I would imagine to this is desecrates during the whirl adds. If you don't have EVERYONE back to the edge of that last one you'd risk dropping it say in the middle of the room and that would make space for P3 a possible problem. So people would really have to be on their feet and realize where the raid was supposed to be moving at all times.

I made a Boss Blueprint for the general Idea. I think PMS discussed this, or I saw a video of a first kill that did this, and it was a bit messy. Skull is where you would start the boss, and X is where you would stop and start heading back once you looped around the end of the wall

the desicrated weapons are

Grasen — Tue, 03/11/2014 - 19:27

the desicrated weapons are going fine,    as long as we have it down before the next one spawns we're good.  i dont always switch right to weapon when it goes out,   the adds often come out at a similer time so i make sure my multidots and traps are going before moving to wepon.

When we were doing this 25

Jobs — Tue, 03/11/2014 - 09:49

When we were doing this 25 man, the major turning point where things start to get crazy is when the first empowered whirlwind (EW) occurs late in P2. As a rule of thumb, ALL desecrated weapons (DW) should be destroyed prior to the very first EW. (even the one that lands RIGHT before the first EW) When the first EW comes out, light spread and watch for next DW. As soon as that DW lands, start grouping for Mind Control. From this point on in the fight, the emphasis needs to be on pushing the boss to P3 and doing whatever you must to not kill adds next to each other. If you don't kill all the adds before Mind Control, try ignoring what's left and push boss. If your dps is sufficient, you can ignore DW from here on out.

Again, make sure no one is killing adds next to each other. This puts tremendous stress on the raid. (Due to: http://www.wowhead.com/spell=149536) If any adds get empowered, kill them asap, but don't let it happen in the first place.  :)

They don't absorb that much

Aeolyn — Tue, 03/11/2014 - 09:19

They don't absorb that much damage before they die. If they aren't dying effectively, you don't have enough ranged swapping to them. There's no real benefit to complicating this beyond a simple back and forth movement between two Desceration points.

If for some reason you want to practice moving as a group for the final burn phase where you DO want to ignore the weapons then I understand giving it a shot in P2 just to learn, I guess. But until you actually need to give up floorspace to zerg the boss down I heavily advise against it.

Atar — Tue, 03/11/2014 - 08:01

I've been looking through our parses from Monday this morning and trying to find ways that can help us on Garrosh.  Here's one thing EVERYONE needs to improve on.

Healthstone usage.  We all have them.  They are FREE! There should be no reason why people are not popping them more.
