The spirit realm is a very great thing for us to be sent into because ANY heal (even a hot) on us will put the same buff on us (like the video explains) that gives us massive amounts of mana back.
Holy pallies!
Put becon on yourself before going in. Use Lay on Hands on the top DPS with you (if you can figure that out, if not then just whomeever)
Pop Guardian and Wings and w/e else you can (not plea) and then just spam Flash of Light. Litterally SPAM IT! you will want to aim to get EVERYONE topped off asap and then try to stack the buff up on the dps as high as you can go.
In 10 man I can get 25 stacks easy but we have many more targets going down in 10. This will buff them considerably and be the only way for us to win the encounter as it tends to be a dps race. Having the people go down to kill the adds takes their DPS off the boss for a considerable amount of time (30 seconds each time) and pushes us ever so much closer to enrage.
If you can farm it Kafa Press is great for the spirit realm (since we don't especially need mana pots on this fight) The haste will help push those extra flash of lights (or whatever your small heal is)
To the other healers Your fast expencive heal is the one you want to be using, your nice big one takes too long to get out. Just make sure to heal yourself a bit too so you'll be getting all that well spent mana back. If you come out of the realm without having gained any mana you're not healing yourself enough
One thing for healers to remember (on either normal or heroic) is to heal yourself first, that gets your mana buff going and allows you to do your fast expensive heals without fear of oom-ing.
Generally, I follow this order:
1. Heal myself to full with as big of heals as I can muster
2. Heal highest DoT class to full (so they get buffed damage on spirit world adds)
3. Heal other dps to full
4. Go back to myself and overheal to stack the buff
5. Go back and overheal other dps
6. Go back and overheal highest DoT class
7. GTFO because by this point the Debuff is expiring and if you're not out on time, you're dead.
So we have Gara'jal on Monday. I'm really excited to do this fight. This fight is going to take a lot of communication and listening to be able to pull this off. I've searched all over for a decent strat and really the Fat Boss strat seems to be the most organized. Lets talk about how we're going to do this. Also, be sure to watch the video Elapsed posted before reading this.
First off after the pull I want a tight group behind the boss. We're going to stack and stay stacked the whole fight. Don't be that guy standing in the back. We want the healers to be able to do their aoe thing. Plus, we want plenty of room for totems to spawn.
We are going to have teams for the spirit realm and killing totems. First off, DO NOT KILL A TOTEM UNTIL YOUR WHOLE GROUP IS THERE. We can't have people fucking this up. We're going to have three groups. Each group will consist of 1 healer and 4 dps. That means 3 healers and 5 dps are left out of groups. These players will be fillers and I'll explain.
I call for group 3 to go in next. Totem pops. Group 3 has no voodoo dolls. All of group 3 stacks on the totem and kills it and enters spirit realm. Done. I call group 4 for next totem. Next totem pops. We notice group 4s healer has voodoo doll. So I call for healer "A" to go instead. That healer takes the place of group 4s healer. That group is set. Stack on totem, kills it, done. I call for group 5 for the next totem. Totem pops. Voodoo doll is on 3 dps from group 5. I call for dps "A", "B", "C" which are fillers to take their place. Those people stack and kill totem. Etc, etc, etc.
At 20% Hero, use personal CDs, kill boss.
So basically everyone's really going to have to pay attention and follow directions really well. Cause if you mess up the rotation, or not go in when you're called we won't kill the boss. This strat is all based around me calling stuff out and getting the right people in.
I will be making sure each healer gets into the spirit realm as well as dps. It's going to take practice and patients. I know we can do this if everyone brings their thinking caps.
Just make sure people understand that just because they can stack behind the boss doesn't mean they can just tunnel vision until their group is called to totems. He can, and has, put a totem right on top of melee, although its rare that it happens. We've experienced it on 10-man a few times. So just be aware of that so the whole raid knows they have that possibility of having to move at a moments notice.
Other than that, like you said Atar, the fight is going to take a lot of practice and patience. Communication and quick response is going to be key in getting it down.

Atar — Mon, 01/14/2013 - 08:33I'm super excited about tonight! I'd love to be 3/6 MSV at the end of the night. Everyone is going to have to pay attention and we'll get this kill.
Be on time so we can get as many pulls off as possible!
Atar's strat is a good one.
Scaron — Mon, 01/14/2013 - 07:33Atar's strat is a good one. We 2 shot this on normal 10man and 3 shot it on heroic. Easiest fight in MSV as long as you pay attention to mechanics.
I have a name for the raid!
