So looking at last night comparing myself to the top rogue dps on WoL, our damage distribution is about the same...
Except, I seemed to have more Wound Poison damage. Though he has higher FoK damage (per hits). Looking back at the date of parse it was 9/17, so FUCK, this was before the FoKing FoK nerf patch.
Ugh, so looking at the other hit damage, I'm likely more geared now than he was when he did this. Damn FoK nerf!
Based on the numbers here, the guy might have slightly better weapons than me. Or I have more AP only. Or I spec'd into poisons while he didn't.
Hmm nope, on armory his gear is similar, though maybe slightly better armor wise... Though with that dual spec aoe... He probably switches to dagger OH (maybe fist MH too) when FoK'ing. Guess I'll do that, enchant/gem that Twin Spike I have in the bank.
Not sure I'm going to be able to raid afterall. I can't get my WTF nor my interface folders from my old HDD yet and I'm working on getting them as we speak.
My father is ill and has been bugging the fuck out of me to help him with ever little thing. (I don't mind helping a sick family member, but he has a way of doing it that pisses me off >:|.)
Either way, I'll be there for raid, but expect me to afk a few times throughout our attempts.
For those not keeping up with the various Anub threads here's what people need to do to help with Anub P3.
1) Mighty Frost Protection Potion - Pop these when P3 starts so you have a buffer for the healers when Penetrating Cold starts in.
2) Tanks should get Arcanum of Toxic Warding, Enchant Cloak - Superior Nature Resistance, and Lesser Flask of Resistance. At the minimum, this amount of NR (with aspect/totem) will help mitigate the Leeching Swarm healing (and damage) Anub will recieve, which would allow P3 to go down faster. Tanks will be healing Anub for 1-2M each, and with the rest of the raid, could wind up healing 30-40% of his hp (i.e. double the amount left pushing into P3!!!)
3) We likely need at least 1 more healer, so DPS has to pick it up more, more aoe specifically to ensure the adds still die, and preferably die even faster than we ever had them dying. Everyone, where possible, should be respec'ing and glyphing to be more aoe oriented.
Looking around at the top dps for Anub...
Unholy DK - By a long shot, Death and Decay, Frost Fever, Blood Plague, Wandering Plague
Frost DK - This was a rare one among the Unholy ones, but he was able to get up high
I think this covers most/all the dps specs. So grats Onrique! You're the worst dps for this fight apparently. ;p
So with the exception of the few we need to cover our buffs, everyone else, if able, should switch to a higher aoe dps spec with aoe glyphs.
Everyone ideally has to be beating Onrique on damage! He's typically in the top 5 most pulls. Use the examples of the logs I posted above! Make it your goal, beat Onrique go go go!

This in turn probably means they're on a "level" field, being the single top dps they're all probably each best at what they do and in BiS gear or mostly. Each near the highest potential they can do for their class for that fight.
With that, the best Enh Shaman on WoL is 7898 dps (he drops magma too). Every other best dps is higher than that. So with all other things being equal, everyone can beat Onrique!
Not saying you'd do it right away, some gear differences might still exist right now. But potentially, one day, your goal...

-Our aoe splash is balls. Using anub for an example, magma totem requires PERFECT add positioning, and chain lightning (at higher gear levels) does less damage overall than LB. With full raid buffs, CL is only beneficial to use if on more than 2 targets with at least 2 crits (initial crit is required).
-We are the weakest single target spec of our class. By in large, elemental is outpacing enhancement these days.
I seem to have the good furtune of getting by around here with my charm and boyish good looks... and i know the order to push my buttons in. Please kick my ass on the damage meters.
Is there any logic at all to perhaps having those classes that are just not that good at aoe'ing to focus single targeting anub, while everyone who "should" be good at AOE'ing, focusing on AOE'ing.
Still think the key to overall DPS being higher = positioning, which I know we are still working out.
I agree with Kwon saying POSITIONING.. I know the tanks knows their jobs.. but I always hear Shi saying ".... , can you move in slightly closer." that's is about 3-5secs no aoe dps on all targets..
I know tanks might not be able to see the adds due to Anub's big f%#@ ass.. but possible to zoom your camera all the way out and view from the top? just a suggestion..
The only single target we should have are Elem and Enh shamans, and even then they get in their CL whenever on CD. Every other class we bring should be capable of a considerable amount of aoe dps based on those parses I posted.
Yes the positioning could be faster, but what will also help is respec'ing / reglyphing when possible. The rogues on EJ created a specific thread to maximize damage for Anub Hard mode, covering what to spec, what poison to use, what abilties to spam, etc. Do other classes have something similar?
As the last boss currently in game and in which a lot of guilds find it one of the most difficult, we just might have to go beyond simply mashing buttons like usual and think more about min-maxing.
i am signing up for this one to help with Anub heroic (if that goes) and HOPEFULLY to go into ulduar because i WILL NOT BE HERE ON FRIDAY for super raid. i work till 7 ST and i doubt you guys would wait for me to come home so i can get mimi rofl. but heres to hoping super raid will happen tonight =p
