Have we ever thought of recruiting more val'anyrs - epidemic has 2 in raid(1 recruited) kill order has 3(2 recruited 2 aquired themselves 1 quit game) sercret to success? garreth tops healing meters, the difference between 1 and 2 being mostly the mace. Thers several throughout the allaince, tempest has 1, adapt has 1, blood faith has 1.
I honestly don't think I could ginvite a dude who bailed on his guild whom all worked their asses off for HIM to get that mace, only to repay them by bailing to "the next big thing". That right there screams mega-douche to me and he'd last about as long as a fart in the wind around here, even assuming he'd make it through our douchebag screening process.
If a rad person apps with a Val, it may help move him through the process, but I'm not going to go out of my way to recruit a person who'd be so quick to bail on those whom helped him out.
Oh yea, imagine if all the healers have Val'anyr. Then we'd just cheese through all content. Every day would be free loot day. Candy would rain from the sky as women in maid outfits escort us down silver carpet with a pizza in one hand and a twinkie on the other.
Because Val'anyr doesn't make Anub hit less hard, doesn't make Leeching Swarm any less of a problem, and doesn't make an endless candy waterfall.
Also, it's far easier said than done to "recruit someone with a Val'anyr". Kill Order isn't the top guild on the server because of Val'anyr - they're the top guild on the server because they raid very hard, have debateably more reliable raid attendance (aka don't have to perpetually regear new raiders), but more than likely? They are "top" because they got to the content sooner and have had more time to work on it.
In short, we'd recruit someone with a Val'anyr if they met our general guild invitation requirements and standards. But we're not going to go out of our way to find another one.
We're not that type of guild. Were you proposing we actively snipe them? If someone happens to want to join and they happen to have a Val'anyr, they still have to pass all the douchebag tests like any other. And it's likely easier for those 2 guilds to recruit Val'anyr specifically, being the most progressed of each faction, it'd attract those hardcore raiders looking for the next big thing.
