_Phase 3 in less than 4 air phases if everyone picks up 2 pieces? I find that to be a large contributor to how ahead of pace we were, in getting to phase 3 in 3 air phases.
-I personally found that there were chunks of time where i wouldnt recieve any heals at all in phase 3. I feel like our healing strat needs a lot of refinement. Dividing grid up into sections doesn't necessarily feel like the most logical way to approach phase 3. Setting it up via a semi-private chat channel and leaving it at that on a very mobile fight with many LOS problems doesn't make much sense to me. I personally would stack the hell out of FR if I was a tank healer, to be able to stay out longer. Stick a couple AOE healers behind ice blocks full time to heal those killing them (bring back circle of healing?).
-All the FR in the world isn't going to stop people from getting themselves killed.
What does this have to do with FR? I don't buy the idea that we really need it. I think it's a crutch and I think our problems can be fixed by... playing better. I feel like it is very useful for certain people in the fight, but i dont think we need it raid-wide.
Lastly: Dear shaman who can't run out in time, go put 2/2 into imp ghostwolf.
we where hit a lot less by tail swipes i noticed, but still get hit nonetheless. perhaps this mechanic is ment for anywhere behind target aka shred range
Taking a solid look at the frost aura damg taken during this fight and noticed a huge variation taken by people
myself with no frost resist gear took 1976820 damg
saedo with full set FR took 1739185 damg
Nuit with partial set FR took 1896396 damg
On the other hand of this I noticed some people taking damg of upwards of 2800000 damg.(not going to name names cause its not thier fault)
This is a huge amount. FR resist gear might help our raid healing immensly but it also begs the question as to why myself with no FR gear take so little and other melee and range alike take so much.
I'm probably gonna lay off of FrR a bit more next time. Perhaps once we'd all have FrR the total raid healing will be less stressed that I can just blend in with the rest.
Cause your avg ticks were close to mine's somehow. I take 2417.3 damage. You take 2491.1 damage. Nuit with less FR takes 2042.1 damage. And you'll see the whole first 17 without FR taking the standard 3.5K ish damage each.
You Ferals must have some passive damage reduction from magic and or aoe I assume.
Less damage taken is still less damage taken that has to be healed through.
Anyways, below is taken from a guild that has killed it with FR. Guilds have done it with it. Guild have done it without it. Do we want to use it? Do we need to use it? Is it a crutch?
We
just killed this boss in my guild using FrR, and to be honest, it
trivialized things.
2 Tanks with 500+ FrR. 6 Healers. I had the raid shoot for 300-340 FrR.
Prior to doing this, we used 9 attempts getting to Phase 3 consistently.
Phase 3 was just decimating us as a guild, so we held off until
tonight, and went at it with FrR. We two shot it, with the first pull
getting it to 18% before enrage (10 minute, hits tank for 250k) with 2-3
people being dead most of the fight.
Tank damage just evaporates. Raid damage evaporates. The stress points
for the healers are simply no longer there. At that point, it simply
becomes about killing iceblocks in a timely manner, and to always be
DPSing. Does the raid take a DPS hit? Yeah, sure. You'll have to blow
mini cooldowns on iceblocks in Phase 2, potentially. But the FrR removes
so many instant points of failure that the fight felt like a joke
compared to what we went thru without Frost Resistance.
The FrR slowed Phase 3 down so much you'd hardly think it was the same
fight. For the cost of boots and belt, it was totally worth the small
hit to DPS. People could afford not to drop their mystic buffet as much,
healers didn't have to make decisions where one person was guaranteed
to die, they weren't on a terrible clock, and the tanks could tank for
far longer than before. In fact, we were three tanking it before, we two
tanked it, no problem.
In every way, FrR gear made this fight easier. If you are having
problems with Phase 3, but getting there in quick order, I highly
suggest FrR gearing for this fight.
Hey guys as I told Shihli I'm currently attempting to fix some technical issues with my computer. If what I'm trying to do to fix it fails I'll end up formatting and reinstalling. So if it makes you guys feel any better, I'm going to be busy for a while :(.
Seems i must move again against my will and where i'm going there is no internet. Hopefully i will find a hole in the wall somewhere to play my wow still but if not i'll see you guys some time when i get my own place... again. *very sad and angry face*
