  Couple of points I would

Luminaire — Wed, 05/19/2010 - 22:18

Couple of points I would like to address here.

1.
Avoidable damage:  STOP TAKING IT!     A great way to do this is knowing the mechanics of the fights,
if you know what’s happening during the fights and about how often they occur
then it’s extremely easy to plan and watch for them.   Another fantastic was to avoid a lot of
damage is boss mods.  Setting DBM, DXE,
or whatever in a way that you can see boss cooldown on abilities and whatnot
will greatly increase your ability to react to them thus allowing one to take
less damage when possible.  Taking these
steps will not lessen your chances of dying, but will also reduce stress on
healers which gives them more mana and time to heal those that need it, not to
mention keeping dps alive to oh I don’t know dps the boss.

2.
Spreading out:
arguably the easiest fucking things to do yet the same people keep not
doing so.  A majority of avoidable
damage, I want to say 85%+, is avoided by just spreading out.  Boss mods give a great indicator of when you
are not spread out enough, both DBM and DXE have range checks put them where
they are visible and not scaled down in the corner of your screen.  I find that customizing range circles per
fight using AVR is the easiest way to check my range.  Doing so gives me a nice little circle around
my feet at all times with a radius of whatever I need say 8, 10, or 12
yards.  There’s even a checkbox that
allows AVR to put checkered boxes within the circle when people are within the
allotted range giving me a great indicator that I need to move.

To add to lumi's points

Onrique — Thu, 05/20/2010 - 07:15

To add to lumi's points (which are very basic), we really are wiping on encounters to the very basics of raiding.

-Tank deaths. Our main and off tanks die WAY WAY too much. Overall, healing seems to be one of our weaker points. As far as I can see, splitting grid off into sections DOES NOT WORK. We need to come up with a better way to heal the raid.

-We vastly outgear the hardmodes we are attempting, including a 15% damage, healing and health buff. That doesn't mean we can be more reckless, but it does mean we can spend more time avoiding avoidable damage and not sacrifice a kill because of it. Slow yourself down a bit. Watch your feet, not a damage meter.

-Calling shit out. It barely happens. with 8 druids in a raid with working raid mods, someone who dies should be back up right away, with no confusion as to who is bringing that person back up. People shouldn't be out of mana with 8 druids in raid. It's OKAY to say something in vent. Raid tools that aren't utilized go to waste.
