I've already downed H. Shannox and H. Ryolith in my guild. We've also taken a few stabs at H. Alysrazor and it didn't seem that difficult. I feel we should be able to get the first two down on the first night. My only concern is having a healer with viable DPS gear and spec, since some of the fights are 2 healer fights.
Post-nerf I think he still has about 59.43mil health. Taking out about 14k tank dps that leaves the raid to contribute about a 30k dps average per player if you 3 heal and 25k + dps average if you 2 heal it. Much more lenient, although 3 healing might still be pretty rough.
What he said. :) 3 healing it was pushing it, too close to the enrage. The fight is designed to be done with 2 heals, so without that kind of dps you might not have a choice. That said, us healers didn't get into the swing of managing our stacks correctly, and when to switch to tank vs. crystal. Get that part down and you'll be fine.
I'm available for the next week except possibly Friday. Fridays will be tough with social obligations and what not. I would like a Rag kill from you jerks though.
It works cause if you read anything in this thread, we're not going Friday. If you want a Rag kill... Be available on the Monday (not this one, the next one after).
Planning out doing heroics etc ahead of time instead of last minute surprises makes sense. Im fine with working on H Shannox and H Rhyolith now that Rag is finally dead. After that Im thinking maybe Beth, as I still hate Alysrazor more than Cromi loves weed... so yea. I think Baleroc is probably one of the easier fights to comprehend IMO. But from what I hear from some people, actually executing it is a pain in the ass and its one of the more difficult fights.
The raid days dont matter to me since I can make raids again. Also have some "tentative" potentially good/bad news.
The good news is that its looking like Im going to be put into a different position at work, where I will be the Building Security/Facility Manager. Its dayshift only and I could be moving up there anytime between now and January (most likely January as the guy whos in that position now wont be deploying until then). The bad part of it, is that Ill likely be stressed out more often than not when I get up there, so my demeanor MAY change. It depends. There is also a SLIM chance that I wont be moving up there, and if that happens I COULD be fair game to getting switched back to nights in the future. But its not looking like thats going to happen.
Well I apologize again for the surprise. I thought a change of scenery after all these weeks might have helped as we worked towards something that would've been more of challenge to kill more time for the week.
So definitely the first 2 has to go down first. But since Majordomo requires us to kill the rest of the previous bosses, depending on how long it takes for us to kill the first 2, I thought we may give the other bosses some attempts too to kill time for the week.
Perhaps I'll be a liar and make us do 3 days of heroics. Heroic Majordomo on the 3rd day along with clean up on unkilled bosses on normal. Then normal Rag on the last hour-ish of Monday.
Or unless you guys want to just not bother with the other bosses and go in this strict order, straight to Domo as the 3rd one. But again, maybe make a liar and have us do a 3rd day of heroic Majordomo and do Rag on the last hour-ish of Monday.
So the question will be... This doesn't have to be answered now, only after the first 2 heroics die... Straight to Domo or muck around with Alysrazor (or whatever). Think about it for now.
Initially I dont think that it would be an issue doing a few attempts on the other bosses just to see how we can handle them per our group comp etc. Lets say after we get Shannox and Rhyo down we do this for one week...
1st night - H Shannox, H Rhyoltih, then put in some attempts on H Beth, kill on normal by end of night (or first thing next night) if we dont get it.
2nd night - 1 hr attempts on H Alys, and H Bale if we dont get them at/around that hour mark, just kill them normal and move onto H Domo.
3rd night - H Domo attempts, if we dont get it by 11-ish, kill it normal and go spank Rag.
That way, maybe, after that week we could see what bosses in particular we excelled at and we can prioritize that way. Who knows.... we could find H Beth to be easy and H Domo really difficult.. crazy shit happens.
Of the new heroics we tried in Afterglow tonight (Beth, Alys, Bale), Beth proved to be the easiest, and Bale the hardest. Having a resto shaman/druid in Beth helps a lot.
So it'll be Tuesday before we reconvene. Everyone able to make it this entire week? Which by the way, it'll be Tues, Wed, Mon from now on.
We do have a convenient excuse to do this besides alt raiding. With Mehguy in now, we'd be restricted to 2 hours on Fridays. So, why not. Drop it and make the most of the 3 days we should only be doing. Maybe an occasional Thurs to make Foresight cranky once in a while.
Anyways, back on topic. Work schedule? People able to make these days these weeks?
So back to my thoughts on the week. How does 2 nights heroics 1 night clean up sound for everyone? How many heroics we do will entirely be up to us. As in, how many we kill along the way in the alotted time So, be prepared for all of them. You have 5 days.
But here's a brief summary:
Shannox:
We've seen for the most part
Dogs don't die
Dogs have stacking damage buff each time they hit someone
Must kite / trap dogs as much as possible to drop off stacks
Rageface must be smacked when he rage faces.
Nuke boss otherwise
Rhyolith
Phase 1 - Each volcano stepped on spawns slow slimy adds from the lava and they move to Rhyolith. Kill, or they rebuild his armor buff making it an excrutiating longer fight. So, pretend they're spiderlings, kill kill
Phase 2 - Lasers. Don't get hit.
Alysrazor
Only changes are in the ground phase
There eggs spawn not once, but 3 times in the phase. So, yes, you tanks kill 3 birds each (6 total). However, their HPs are lower to compensate, so you should be able to somewhat kill each of them around the next one spawning.
A giant meteor will spawn, ala Ragnaros like. Low hp, you kill it, or you die when it hits things. When dead, it drops into a bunch of rocks that act as line of sight objects
And finally, the additional ability is a deep breath thing Alysrazor herself does, in which it only hits things within line of sight. Can you figure out what to do?
Baleroc
Same basic fight except, each time any of us with the Tormented debuff gets close to another, the debuff refreshes. So kinda screws our chance to take the crystal.
So, we'd likely firstly, assign more specific spots for people to stand in. And make sure people know when running to and from crystals, we need a clear path
Secondly, instead of our 2 team crystal thing, have a total team order. That is, 1->6 in a queue that take our crystals, and we rotate with all of them regardless of which crystal it is. So, if something happens and someone can't take crystal, he moves to the back of the line, and we continue with the rest of the group.
And one other ability, linking 2 people doing aoe damage until they run close to each other. Standard brain link type ability.
Beth'tilac
Spinners - new abilty that is able to stun random raid members for 25 seconds, interruptible, but likely we want to kill (taunt down) all of these ASAP.
Drones - new ability, fixate on a random target for 10 seconds, does 75% less damage so is perfectly survivable. Fixate target must make sure to face away from raid and kite away from spiderlings. Likely we'd tank Drone closer to center, closer to raid so it's not randomly running towards spiderlings. Kiters would likely try to take it towards "square" based on our setup.
New add - Engorged Broodlings, fixate on random target, runs at them, BOOM. Leaves poison puddle. The lucky target gets to run the fuck away from the raid.
Majordomo
Exact same fight except you get a concentration bar. It gets to fill up to 100%, you do more damage and healing. But, each time you're hit with damage, the bar resets to zero.
The issue is, Domo's damage and health increased a lot so you want/need 2-3 people to keep their concentration at 100%
In other words, a chosen 2-3 people must stand outside of the scorpion flame slash thing, dps their hearts out, while the rest of the raid takes extra damage. Likely taking less stacks, like 6 or so.
In cat phase, there's really nothing different, ranged will get randomly jumped on resetting their concentration. Melee shouldn't be hit, so go balls out.
I'm guessing with searing seeds, only 1 can be afforded to stand outside due to all the potential running in and out.

Probably a shadow Kaluu.But
saedo — Tue, 09/27/2011 - 10:14Probably a shadow Kaluu.
But technically, all the fights are 3 healable. If you have enough dps....
Even then, only Baleroc is recommended as 2 healed. Rhyolith is another optional. Pre-nerf anyways.
So we should 1 heal it?
cromi — Tue, 09/27/2011 - 16:26So we should 1 heal it?
Essentially 9 manning it?

we three healed it yesterday
dreziak — Tue, 09/27/2011 - 11:32we three healed it yesterday so you can take a look at our parse to see our dps. People died also, so it is definatly doable with 3 heals.
nevermind we didnt parse yesterday but everybody was around 25k dps and people died. we beat the enrage by like 5 seconds...
What he said. :) 3 healing it
