Alright, So, we are going to do this as how several guilds are doing it on heroic mode. (The only difference between heroic and normal is higher health, higher dmg output, and at 33% gains an aggro table and has to be tanked)
The following changes/method should minimize movement/run-time (therefore increasing ranged dps/dmg), and decrease the amount of AoE dmg we take as a whole.
1- Tanks will be included in the rotation for taking pheromones. Because of this, we will only take stacks up to 15 at most. Not having those 5 extra stacks will definitely decrease the amount of damage the raid takes. Rotation should be as follows. Elapsed->Mehguy->Lumi->Kaluu->Aeolyn->Dragon->Pure->Plum->Elapsed, etc etc. The order changes a little. but by the time Elapsed, Lumi and I are done with our initial transitions, we should be at ~45 stacks overall, and thats slightly later than kaluu would take it normally (he normally takes it at ~40). But he should be dropping it off at exactly the same time (~60 stacks overall). Make sense? After that, itll just be a slightly different rotation between people that we will have to get used to. Main reason for Lumi and I to be taking the stacks right after Elapsed, is because thats when he'll be closest to the wall and likely be hitting people with his cleave. Since we get hit by cleave anyways, it makes sense for us to take it since we take damage from everything anyways. It saves others from getting hit by his cleave in the beginning and saves unecessary damage to the kiter early on.
2- After initial pull, DPS will only focus the legs on the right side. Having ALL ranged now is going to be a major disadvantage to us for this fight, but we can persevere. We are losing WAY too much damage by having ranged run around to the back left leg... wayyyyy too much. After the pull, all 4 legs are dead, ranged should be stacking in the middle-ish like normal, unless they are kiting. If the back left leg spawns, leave it alone. If the front left leg spawns, let tanks deal with it... it will suck, but dont be running to it.. if Plum can DoT it, or mages can spread their shit to it, great, itll help, but that front left leg should be left to tanks. The main point to get across, is leaving the back left leg alone. The theory behind this is, if that left leg is left up the whole time (besides the initial pull), then that gives a 2/3 chance of him re-spawning a leg on his right side in front of the ranged. Giving you very minimal distance to run to get in the extra dmg circles and being able to nuke them down faster. This will also make it easier for healers to heal since you will be grouped up more consistently, eliminating the ranging issue. Another way to think of it is, if that back left leg is always up, and you leave the front left leg to tanks, you only have to be concerned with the legs that spawn directly in front of you, and there will be a much better chance for them to spawn in front of you, instead of the unlucky back-left respawn 3 times in a row like weve experienced in the past.
TLDR?
1- Tanks take all damage anyways, might as well make us more
useful. Less stacks = less raid damage. Shut up and get used to new
rotation order.
2- After initial pull, if the back left leg respawns, leave it the fuck alone. If front left leg respawns, leave it to tanks and if you can put a couple quick DoTs, do it. Otherwise, stay in middle, nuke on boss, and only move to/dps legs that spawn on boss' right side.
Please do me a favor and check what gear you still need out of Mogu'Shan Vaults.
Do NOT include heroic drops. I'm talking normal ilvl 489 gear.
Depending on the actual amount of gear that people need from normal MSV, I'm considering having us start raid nights in HoF to push progression primarily. And if we get stuck smashing face on Garalon or Amber-Shaper for the first 2 hours of raid, then we can go unload some steam in MSV at the tail end of the night. But I feel HoF should be the primary focus.
5.2 is coming up (Im thinking mid-late March, perhaps earlier) and we havent even started Terrace yet... And I think we could easily clear Terrace. So get your gear lists identified, see if we should hard press HoF for progression and get better gear so we can feasibly start knocking out heroics. Weve had a long dwell time the last few weeks, and we need to get back at it hard starting on Jan 1.
YES WE ARE RAIDING JAN 1! Get your hangovers knocked the F out, hydrate, and deal with it.
Also, we will be changing up the Garalon strat a bit. Its not going to be a drastic overhaul, but it will be slightly different. It should alleviate a bunch of raid damage, and increase ranged DPS and uptime on the boss.
I will put more in a post tomorrow to fill you all in.

Sounds like a good plan, I'll
Elapsed — Sun, 12/30/2012 - 12:38Sounds like a good plan, I'll be looking at loot tables today.
