After conferring with Elapsed this morning on our current status, this is how we will be proceeding.
We will NOT be doing Garalon again until we finish this current lockout of HoF. "How" might you ask? By extending our lockout. We are not progressing, and its becoming more evident that if we continue on our current path, even after dropping MSV completely, that we will not clear this tier of content, even on normal. And that is simply unacceptable.
Our main hangup, is that we keep getting our dicks/vaginas punched in by Garalon, and quite frankly... I'm sick of it. There is really nothing we can do about it to make it any easier that weve already got it. Yes gear will help, but only slightly, not enough to where it makes a difference. The only real change we could make to change our fortune on that boss is to sit another ranged, and bring in another solid melee dps and let melee only deal with legs after initial pull. We don't have that luxury, we are stuck with what weve got class-wise and we have to move forward with it. I'm definitely not saying we need to replace people, far from it. We have a very good 10-man, but due to the nature of the server, recruitment and raid time availability of people, this is what weve got. And Garalong is a very stupidly nit-picky fight.
Our 2nd biggest hangup, is wiping on Wind Lord. There should be no reason we are wiping on this boss... none. This boss is probably the easiest in the whole instance, and we are wiping, either by not AoE-ing adds down fast enough, random heal getting off by broken CC, or someone doesnt pay enough attention to to the floor and blows us the fuck up. I know its a little tricky to see at times, but really guys... please be more aware.
I'm flat out sick of getting stuck on these 2 bosses, and I'm sure the other 90% of you are as well. The issue frankly is NOT gear related, its class balance and player performance. Also network/connection issues. We have HAD the gear to clear this tier on normal and a few heroics as well, but performance by players (and I mean everyone, myself included) needs to get better. And we need to get pratice on bosses. LFR is great, but we need to get to the "real" thing. I'm fairly certain we will get Grand Empress down with relative ease once we actually get to her, BUT we need to get to her for practice for her abilities etc that are not being used by LFR. We need the practice on her and amber-shaper, and 1 hr/week is not going to cut it. Once we get HoF clear, we can go back to re-clearing it and also start hitting up Terrace, which we shouldnt have an issue with, no boss there has 50 million stupid things going on at once like Amber Shaper does.
So, just to reaffirm our plan of attack.
Tonight - We will clear whatever is remaining of the 25-mans MSV, then move to HoF and get as far as we get.
Tomorrow - Extend lockout for HoF and press hard on Amber-shaper and Grand Empress.
Wed/Mon - keep working on Amber-shaper/Grand Empress and hopefully Terrace.
I am considering having us go back to MSV weekly like we discussed a while ago. What day, I'm not sure, it may be wednesday after the 25-man gets through part of it, or it may only be Mondays after they are completely done. But we will definitely be going tonight to start, all that should be left is Elegon and Will. If the 25-man gets it down, great. Would love to see it. Otherwise, we'll just finish up their lockout.
