They're mostly the same thing, although both a little old. Basically the idea is to delete your patch files and run the repair utility. Afterwards you will redownload the current patch and hopefully restore the offending files. If that doesn't work it probably means a reinstall. :(

Things don't just happen from out of nowhere. There has to be a reason why it has stopped working. Perhaps some tinkering was involved with an addon or files were being moved and now when the game attempts to read that data, it isn't where it should be or can't find that file.

My first suggestion would have been to copy your addons folder into a separate directory, then delete all the non-Blizzard original files. If the game couldn't start up, then there's something wrong with the core game. Reinstallation at that point would probably be your only option.

I've heard that malware can corrupt your game files too but I don't know enough to really comment on it. Even if it were the cause, the damage has been done already, unfortunately.

I'd like to get VoA done tonight if possible. We'll take a look at it to see if can do it first thing or at the end of raid.

We've got some catching up to do from last night. I want to be on Lich King tonight. We'll be going straight to Sindragosa to get her out of the way and then clear BPC and BQL. We can get some really good time on LK tonight. Be prepared and don't forget what I was talking about last night. Everyone has to bring their best to get a LK kill.
