Atar — Tue, 05/25/2010 - 07:05Going to be working on Lady Deathwhisper again tonight as well as Saurfang. We had a rocking time on Deathwhisper last week. Lets push for a kill tonight and move forward on to more hardmodes.
As a side note, here soon I'd like to make our way back to the Lich King and get another kill on him. I've heard some interest from quite a few people that they'd really enjoy getting another LK kill. But remember for those that QQ hate LK. Just because he's not a HM boss doesn't mean that his loot isn't valueable and that the encounter isn't easy. It takes just as much skill to do LK as it does any HM we've came across so far. Anyway, keep that in mind for the next week or two.

They seem to use our strat of being behind the boss. A few things I noticed though:
1. During P1 all the adds are grouped up on top of the boss. This seems to allow for splash damage. They absolutely blazed through P1 it looked like. I know this would require care when people get MC'd in melee, but it seemed to work for them.
2. During P2 there's a lot of spread. It also looked like they had specific groups of people designated to deal with ads while many stayed on the boss. We'd have to think about this if we wanted to do it. Hard to tell from this POV exactly what was going on.
3. This vid does a pretty nice job of showing exactly what you need to do to miss ghosts. A fast P1 allows for LOTS more running around during P2. (No major need to beat the timer so if you're off the boss for a while to miss a ghost, that's ok).

one other thing I noticed from this video:
During P1 range side seems to focus down the Cult Adherent first rather than (as we have been doing) having some melee over to kill it. This might allow us to have more full force over on melee side killing adds over there during P1. Again, this vid shows some AoE / splash taking place on adds near boss. It's a slower P1 than the other video, but still quicker than we've been doing.

If we do this all our mages should be fire for this boss due to living bomb. High damage all around, MOST of the adds should live for 12 seconds but not far beyond that (especially when the bombs start going off) and free pyros to throw at the boss as well as keeping a living bomb on the boss.

I know a few ppl do get killed during Mind Controls from splash damage, and with 3 Living Bombs on all the melee adds and the boss with all the other AOE damage that normally happens.............
I think I'm going to try it for a few pulls, mages will just have to quick on sheeps and druids quick on whirlwinds so ppl don't get blown up since sheeping restores health and whirlwind makes it to where u can't get hit.

Scaron — Mon, 05/24/2010 - 08:11Good thought. I will say that it looks like there are at least two arcane mages in the second video I posted using the same strategy. So it seems doable even w/o mages switching to fire...however, if it makes it easier to do--i'm all for spec switches.
One way or another, I REALLY want to see a DW kill and a first wing HM ach for salmon this week.
