Guild Meet-Up 2010
Saja — Sun, 01/10/2010 - 16:59
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Committe has met and the 2010 Guild Meet Up will be
AUGUST 13-15, 2010 in Portland, Oregon
We based this on Holidays, potential School schedules and Airfare from different areas of the country - so start saving your pennies.
Friday:
Gather at Garreth and Saja's as people get into town BYO Snacks (we now have a BBQ as well if you want to bring something to grill). We will have a Keg that will carry over to Saturday night. Feel free to bring other beverages of your choice.
Saturday:
Day time: Blue Lake Park
http://www.traveloregon.com/Explore%20Oregon/Mt%20Hood%20Columbia%20River%20Gorge/Attractions/Outdoors%20and%20Nature/Blue%20Lake%20Regional%20Park.aspx
Carpool as much as possible. We will meet at Cascade Station between 10:30 and 11 and head to the park for BBQ and hanging out.
Evening: Once we get bored, we can head out and get cleaned up and head to Val and Josh's for more BBQ and Keg
Things people should bring:
- Swim suit (water feature at Blue Lake Park)
- towel
- Pillow
- Sunscreen
- good attitude
- Extra cash for Blue Lake Park ($5 if you are a driver) and I believe the paddle boats rent by the hour
Sunday:
Ape Caves for those who would like to go
Things to bring if you plan on going to the Ape Caves (45 degrees year round)
- Warm Jacket (layers are best)
- Good walking shoes
- gloves if you want
- warm hat
- Strong flashlight or lantern (both if you have them) and any extras you might have
- pants to wear in cave
Please send me a PM if you need addresses to my house and/or Val and Josh's
Additional Notes:
Your Fee includes paying for the following:
- Food for Saturday at the park and in the evening
- Keg for Friday and Saturday
- Reservation for Blue Lake Park
- Your T-shirt
- Some gas money for Drivers to the Ape Caves (since it's about 45 min to an hour away)
The Fee does NOT cover the following:
- if you plan to FISH on Saturday at Blue Lake Park, I believe you must have a permit.
- Paddle boats and other activities IN the park that require money
- It will be your car load's responsibility to pay the $5 to get into the park on Saturday, to encourage car-pooling
Ok, since we've been "called out"- here is a breakdown of the pricing. I am going on the assumption that we will have 30 people coming to this thing.
Park: $2 per person (actually $1.33 but I'm rounding up a few cents to make it easier)
Food: $12 per person (includes TWO meals of hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken burgers, cheese - plates, forks, spoons, cups, drinks, sides like beans, fruit, veggies, chips, condiments)
Keg: $5 per person
Shirt: rounding to $15 since we don't know how much this will be yet exactly
This equals $34 per person.
We have to consider some are bringing their kids who will eat, and we might not get 30 people even coming at all. If we don't then it makes the keg and the park more expensive for each person. Julie and I worked out this budget over an entire evening trying to do this the most cost effective way while making it the most fun.
If you have a problem with the price than don't come. Say we do make a "profit" than that goes to the website and the vent server, which at this time, the costs are being generously donated by guildies. Or buying extra snacks for Friday night.
We worked hard to plan this thing. So if you can't bring a good attitude as listed above, and want to complain about how this is going down, then don't come, or take on planning it for next year.
I will tell you that two or three people footed most of the bill last year in donations and we wanted to avoid that this year. We spent $400 on the Saturday food alone last year. Some people did not contribute at all.
So. it's all out there. Go ahead and audit me.
Plan for this Friday is as followed. Fill raid by 7:00 ST so be on before then and have your food/flasks ready. I want to head right into ICC but if we end up with undergeared people that want to become regulars we will go and to ToC normal and heroic instead. Be ready, know the strats for ICC and ToC so that we can go in and just start killing shit.
In your posts please say your characters name and dps/tank/heals so I know what you can do.
Thanks!
Time to resurrect AFK.
I miss raiding and due to my work schedual I can no longer raid during the week so to get my fix I'm going to return to leading this again. Thank you for taking over for me while I was gone Zifter!! To start we will only plan on raiding one night and then build up to a second depending on what works best for everyone.
In the past we had a pretty set group of people that ran every week but this time around there are many open spots for anyone who wants to join us. This time around we will be more focused on actually killing bosses instead of being afk for 45 mins out of 3 hours... =P That being said I play this game to have fun and if anyone is causing the raid grief I reserve the right to kick you out, or not invite you back. Loot will be ML'd out at first to ensure that upgrades get spread around and then to Need main spec/Greed offspec (NOBODY should ever be rolling DE in my raids and doing such will put you on my bad side...)
I plan on bring Jayel to tank. The others I am penciling in are Zifter (heals most likely), Holynightmar (tank), Lilmonster (dps), and eluda (dps). I know that Ped would like to come along also when he can. Let me know leigh/ora if you guys want to come along again but I know its a late start time for those on the East.
I love my Eastcoast friends but there is no way for me to be home and raidable before 7 or 7:30 ST. Since this Friday is New Years Day there will be no raid but the following Friday I plan on having our first schedualed raid.
I'm putting this up now to start seeing what sort of interest there will be from new members. For now Raid times will be Friday nights (or Monday nights) from 7:30 - 10:30/11:00 ST. The first few weeks might be ToC normal and heroic and ICC depending on who we fill the raid with, but eventually it will be only ICC once I feel we are making progress.
Sign up if you want to be a regular and have some fun!
This weeks Daily Raid is Mally. Sign up if you want come along with us and we'll try to get everyone in. Every Friday or Monday we will be trying to knock out the weekly raid so look for the event and sign up!
