Switching Toons for Wrath
Atar — Wed, 09/03/2008 - 08:21
Since I've been back at work these past two weeks I've done an insane amount of research on all the classes and specs that will be introduced in WotLK. All these changes are going to take a lot of getting used too, but I really think everyone in DF is capable of grasping the new class mechanics swiftly.
As of right now I'm not sure if I want raid as a Feral Druid anymore for Wrath. I'm not 100% on that conclusion, but I'm really thinking about. I've really focused on the Priest and Shaman talents as of late. All three trees look amazing to me for both classes.
Point blank...I love to heal. I think healing takes a huge passion and it takes a lot of skill to be an amazing healer. I'm still doing research on both Priests and Shaman at the moment to see the how well they'll perform in WotLK.
Also, I've really really been looking into Shadow Priests. One of the things that draws me to them for Wrath is that there aren't a HUGE amounts of changes as far as play style and I like that. I've always thought playing a shadow priest, although low on the dps meters, was extremely fun. The constant casting of DIFFERENT spells and you're not spamming just one or two buttons. I've been leveling a second priest on my spare time lately to go shadow for WotLK. I'm not sure if it'll be my main or not. We'll see when that day comes.
BTW...this was my first blog EVER

lol Healing is fun!
I agree G what I meant to
Dragon — Wed, 09/03/2008 - 10:10I agree G what I meant to say I guess is that I kinda wanted to see them finish the prelimary class review for all classes (so far only warrior, rogue and DK have been done that I know of) and kinda wait for them into settling out the "Numbers" stage. I.e. where the mechanics are nearly concrete.

I'll be on my pally until

BUT, now is the time for us to start thinking about main-switching.
Do understand that switching mains may lose you a raid spot (if you want to raid, that is). Regardless, I highly encourage main-swapping if it keeps the game fun for you.
There will come a time, soon before Wrath, where Downfall will be asking you to choose ONE toon to make your main. No more, no less. These stated mains are what we will use to construct our raids.
You've been warned.

I came to the realization
Dragon — Wed, 09/03/2008 - 10:02I came to the realization last weekend that in the end my heart lies with a 2h weapon and plate armor in WoW. There are 2 things I am still looking for them to fix for Ret.
#1. Some sort of ranged pulling device (other than repentence) so we can actually tag mobs from a distance greater than 10 yards.
#2. I am still looking for our mana issue to get fixed and this right now seems the biggest ret complaint on the pally forums about ret.
If for some reason those 2 items don't get fixed or I just no longer enjoy the playstyle chances are high that I will either be a warrior or DK.
That being said, things are changing every 3 days or so right now in beta so I think that calling classes now is really calling it rather blind and something I am just not really to do in full confidence. =/

Several classes are still
Dufe — Wed, 09/03/2008 - 09:53Several classes are still expecting some major changes. Warriors and priests are among them, possibly even druids as well.
death knights have one huge
Sorreah — Wed, 09/03/2008 - 09:49death knights have one huge problem for generalized tanking
they are squishy
it may be just gear at this point but it seems that if the mob isnt a caster they are getting their asses kicked a lot more than any other tanking class
Dk do have nice dmg output though
Warriors aren't going to be
Shihli — Wed, 09/03/2008 - 09:34Warriors aren't going to be "cheap, secondhand versions of deathknights", particularly since spriests and afflic warlocks are going to be seeing sweeping changes by the next beta build, you can expect warriors to see something similar. At least that's my opinion.
I've already set my mind - I'm going to be a deathknight, likely a 2/18/51 build, designed for caster/AoE tanking.
I'm kind of in the same
Kybosh — Wed, 09/03/2008 - 09:18I'm kind of in the same boat. I love my warrior, but with the way things are going it looks more and more like warriors are going to be cheap second hand versions of death knights.
I've been healing on my priest a lot lately and have fallen in love with it. And after looking at the new discipline talents for priests in wrath, I think they'll be even more fun.
That's the great thing about these expansions is that it gives people an opportunity to re-invent themselves as players. Nothing is set in stone until wrath goes live, but the way things look right now, warriors are looking extremely disappointing.
Well healers will be on the
Gares of War — Wed, 09/03/2008 - 08:58Well healers will be on the decline in Wrath. Shadow priests and shamans too. So it would be very useful in a "what do we need setting".
I was going to make a thread like this with a few weeks left prior to wrath.
I am still up in the air honestly. I am leaning towards deathknight because I want to tank/dps depending, but I am not satisfied with the current prot developments (looks like we will be rage starved) and arms is laughable at best. Fury is good, but they are thinking of nerfing it anyway.
