I have been using destro in BGs.  it has been loads of fun.  I like doing 20k+ in under half a second.  It annoys them mightily, which is most of the point.

However, I am going to shift to the arena.  The arena ranking website says that it is about an even split between affliction and destro for arenas.  I watched youtube and remember how fun sl/sl was.  It is nice to be able to heal up to full with affliction.  It is also nice to be able to kill a hordie in under 5 seconds.

The question is, which is to be preferred?

My own opinion is that it depends on what you can comfortably play and the dynamics of your group.  I love having a melee banging on you while I drain him and my health goes up while his drops.  That is, however, not to be depended on.  They can just interrupt and go back to banging.  Still, in panic situations, where everyone else is dead and there is one really tough or two fairly tough opponents still alive and staring at ME, affliction is better as it allows for better survival. 

And so it goes, back and forth.  There are good arguements for both sides.  I have even seen demonology spec do well in videos, though I have no idea how to play deep demo and put out good dps.

With the above as given, can you add to my thinking about this?
