So I've been sitting here for about 10 mins trying to remember how I know you're name...it's sorta unforgetable.

Bounced around that 1. you could have been a douche in trade chat, 2. must have run something with you, but then thought well, only 4 days at 80 ...so that can't be it....

Then it hit me...We DID run soemthing.  Its rare when a healer makes my friends list, but I added you after we ran a nexus together with a BUNCH of BAD dps.  I am pretty sure I was tanking on my druid Kahtara (could have been on Aidin, but pretty sure it was the druid), if you're the person I think you are, we chatted (intellegently) quite a bit in psts, and you REALLY did an awesome job keeping those dumb dps'ers alive all while not letting me as the tank die, and let me tell you that was no easy task. 

Close you're eyes, ignore the name (or consider ameral's suggestion) and give this guy a chance, I'm banking he'd love to learn from our awesome resto shammies!!!!!  I wish you luck sir!

Now for the formalities:

Hello sir or madam, and welcome to the Dowfall recruitment process. If you fancy a quick invite, have thin skin, or like purps over people then don't waste your time reading what follows, just press on now.  If you are a skilled player, or even a player in need of a little molding, and you have time to dedicate to dead bosses, and to a community of people that do more together then play a video game, then here's a few things for you.

Recruitment Process

Step 1 Application : Well you've already completed this step by taking the time to complete our lengthy application.  Some think it's silly, we have documented proof that it easily weeds out the douchebags before wasting too much of our time.

Step 2 Who are you? : Type /join dfrecruit in game.  This will put you in our global chat channel for recruits.  You'll find lots of Downfall members in that channel often shouting for people for random heroics.  This will get your name out there, let people get to know you.  The more people you get to know, the more people will begin to comment on your application, and thus keep it "alive"

Until you start to get comments from those who excel in your class, or those who have nice/not so nice things to say about you as they get to know you, it's up to YOU to keep your application active, it's not just a matter of posting and never coming back, we are website oriented, get used to using it.

Step 3 Be There : Be online during raid times, its even better if you're on from start to finish, since people will DC mid raid.  If you're apping to raid, it's a long and gruelling process.  We DO need consistant skilled players for both 25 man raids, and you're not the only person trying to get that spot.  What we like to see is our apps posting on the raid events that they are available to fill in on a given night.  Then if you've posted that you're going to be on that night, make sure to shout our a reminder in dfrecruit just as raid is about to start just to let us know you're on. It may be weeks, it may be months before you see action, but you may end up with a spot the first time you join the recruit channel.

Well that's what you can expect for the next few weeks/months.  We've had applicants that have waited over 3 months for an invite, we've invited people within a few days, every situation is different. So get you're name out there, get some comments, and good luck to you!

If you seriously want to change your name we could probably report it and a GM would ask you to change it. I find it difficult to believe it isn't a ToS violation. I wouldn't do that without your permission, though, as I think thats kind of a jerk thing to do. At least then you wouldn't have to pay for it and you wouldn't be an eyesore.

When you say old video games which era do you mean? List some of your favorite olde time games and be judged upon them. Yarr.

Oh. And which job(s) did you play in FFXI? Just out of my own curiousity.

While resto is my offspec, I feel like Ive spent enough time playing it to be able to ask you a couple questions/make some comments:

-To me, your gem choices seem a bit questionable. Int is always a "safe" way to gem, but the best way to get the most out of chain heal (which is 70-80% of what your healing will come from in a raid setting... if not more) is by gemming for haste. Do you feel like you would stand to benefit from a change in your gem selections?

-Your enchants look good to me. Certain people might look at your leg enchant and say that the spirit is worthless and that you should have taken stam instead, but it seems like a silly argument to have. It's good to see that you are willing to front the cash for superior enchants.

-Other than what you described in your application, what other aspects of the shaman class do you feel are vital to a raid setting? You seem to understand what a resto shaman's purpose is, but why would anyone want to bring an enhancement or elemental shaman to a raid?

-Tell me about your offspec a little bit.
