Well I am sitting here in the hospital doing better than I thought I would waiting for Ryan to make his appearance.  My wife started having contractions on 04/23/09 at around 11am and around 7pm we headed to the hospital.  I hope to have some pictures and good news to share with you all soon.  Good luck raiding and I hope to join you all again next week sometime.

So two weeks ago, as most of you know, I took the week off to be with my wife and kids for the week after wifey had my new farmer.  I decided to goto my son's school on Tuesday to surprise him and pick him up from school.   First time I've ever met his teacher.

"I need to talk to you about Caleb.  He was flipping the finger all day, and when I got on to him about it, he flipped it at me and asked what I was going to do about it."

I spanked him fairly hard, grounded him from nearly everything, made him apoligize to his teacher, and gave him a HORRID lecture.  (He'd rather a second spanking than a lecture.  True story.)

So Monday I come home from work (he's now ungrounded) to find out that he decided he was hungry while my wife and neighbor were at the office in our community visiting my mom.  So he broke into the maintenance guys truck, took the pry-bar, and proceeded to BREAK every lock on the snack machine until the lid would come off right.  ( I just donated that snack machine.  $300.00 )

So, I spanked the crap out of him again, and took away LIFE in general.  THEN I told him he has craploads of chores for ......pretty much forever.  As soon as he gets home from school each day this will be his routine:  A) Do homework, B) Clean room, C) Seperate Laundry, D) Clean dishes, E) Clean living room.  After he's ungrounded, he can start to play after ALL of that is done each day. 

So what does he think up to do NEXT?  He tells his teacher that she can't assign him homework because he has to rake leaves, clean his room, etc, etc, etc and hands his homework back to her.  Get's up from his desk and tells her with a cocky "I don't have to do shit you want me to" attitude that she CAN'T assign him homework, drops the assignment on her desk, and goes and sits back down.

(Props to my son on his balls, seriously.)

So......  Here I'm at an impasse......

A) He's grounded, I can't take ANYTHING else away.

B) I've spanked him more times in the past month than in the past year.

C) He's getting to the age that he's zoneing out when I lecture.

E) Crying hysterically and saying "I'm sorry" lasts about three minutes from him

So what do I do?

He wrote back and front two pages (each line): 

• "I will not lie to my teacher about not having time to do homework and I'm sorry."
• "I will not disrespect my aunt xxx and uncle xxxx and I'm sorry."
• "I will not lie to or about my parents and I'm sorry."
• "I will not steal from my community and I'm sorry."

heh heh heh.

He DID have enough time for homework!

Well, for those who know me it's been pretty obvious that I haven't been in game that much in the past month or so, basically logging into raid (when I could actually make it). From that sentence I suppose you know where this is going. With work getting rather crazy and other commitments in life, I don't have the time currently to actively raid.

As it stands, I've missed every Ulduar raid except 2, one of which I had to leave early for work. It is not fair to anyone in raid or waiting to become an active raider if i'm not able to commit 100%. This isn't a I'm quitting see ya bye post, it's more of a means to say I have to become a more standby, casual raider, rather then active. If attendance is low and I'm on, I'd be more and happy to raid, I just can't make the promise I can be there each night anymore, and as I said above, thats not fair to anyone in KB. Hopefully when things clear up I can attempt to earn a spot back, but until then I'll have to reside on the proverbial bench.

I want to thank everyone (esp Garreth for allowing me back into guild/raiding after TBC events) that I've got to raid with over the years. I'll still be in game when I can, and def will be on the site, but it was more appropriate that I make this official rather then keep the guessing game going.

It's time for me to make a change.  In the past year I've been working 50-60 hour weeks and raiding and I need to take care of myself and those around me better.  I'll still be around in game but my focus will be on more casual play and levelling some alts.  Good luck with Ulduar guys, you'll beat the game again soon I'm sure (how many times is this going to be?).

This is a bit later than I wanted to offically post, but I wanted to let people know I will be gone for a while.  I will hop on for 5-10 minutes here and there and on weekends, but I don't feel comfortable raiding when I have several presentations over the next few weeks, then I was going on vacation.
