Here's the idea:

1)  Imp. AotH and Focused Fire = free large-dps increases for few talent points.  Yay!

2)  Lethal Shots and Mortal Shots are must-have for ANY hunter.  Careful Aim is cheap and provides a LOT more attack power, capitalizing more on the gear we use.

3)  The meat in the Survival tree:
 - Improved Tracking - 5% more damage done to targets you are tracking (e.g. if I have "Track Humanoids" on I will deal 5% more damage to human targets).
 - Lightning Reflexes and Expose Weakness - the main reason SV hunters exist.
 - Potent Venom - serpent sting essentially deals a lot more damage, and is now cheaper to use.
 - Sniper Training - special shots deal more damage, yay!
 - Hunting Party - my ranged crits restore 2% mana, 10 energy, 4 rage, or 10 runic power to the party.  2% mana at our current level of progression = ~200 mana per crit, and unbuffed Shihli has 35% crit ... this means that 1 in 3 shots will restore 200 mana to the group's mana users, which is equivalent to around 200 mp5.  TWO HUNDRED.  OMFG.
 - Explosive Shot - better than I thought it'd be.  Instant shot, short CD, deals (RAP*0.2 + 345) to (RAP*0.2 + 415) damage to the target.  Currently Shihli has 2800 RAP or so.  This means that in my current form, I'd do 905-975 damage to all targets every 2 seconds, within 5 yards of the mob hit by the shot.  Nice!

Survival hunters are the new shadowpriest in WotLK.  Gotta have at least one imo.

So I've posted my proposed leveling build, but I'm also planning on making my DK an Inscriber.  That is, inscription will be his principle tradeskill ... I'm thinking I'll go either herbalism/inscription or enchanting/inscription, depending on how easy I will be able to get the herbs required to level inscription.

That said, I'll be asking any guild herbalists for some help in the future with providing ample amounts of herbs such that I can level inscription.  Obviously, I will be gathering as many herbs as I can on my own - I only ask that if you have any spare herbs (particularly the old-world herbs, of all levels) that you consider selling them to me.

I'll have more details as they become available.

As the subject suggests, I am now planning on making a Deathknight in WotLK, principally as my new raiding main toon.

If everyone would be so kind as to help me with two things:

1)  Help suggest some good dps plate gear to level in Outland with, including crafted items and random "of the Soldier" greens; and

2)  Help me track down and/or craft said items to prepare for WotLK.

So I've been pouring over Cheeky's Spreadsheet for a decent while this afternoon (slow day at work), and I've discovered something:

With my gear options currently, I could see some bizarre dps increases and decreases depending on how much +hit and +haste I opt to use.

My options, more or less:

1)  [Bindings of Lightning Reflexes] vs. [Wraps of Precise Flight]

2)  [Cloak of Fiends] vs. [Drape of the Dark Reavers]

3)  [Shattered Sun Pendant of Might] vs. [Choker of Vile Intent]

4)  [Valestalker Girdle] vs. [Boneweave Girdle]

5)  [Black Bow of the Betrayer] vs. [Legionkiller]

In short, I have a lot of applied theorycrafting ahead of me.  Next time we step into BT I might start dinking around with my gear and see how I do.  Depending on the amount of haste, sometimes the crossbow comes out over Illidan's bow, and all hell breaks loose if I opt to use all of my haste gear (in short, I get to weird "humps" where more haste doesn't help, as my shot rotation gets borked due to bad autoshot casting times).

So I got a little promotion of sorts at work - I'm no longer a "junior" process engineer, but rather an "associate" process engineer.

I've also been offered an opportunity to do some on-site work at a local refinery which I believe I will be taking.  While this shouldn't affect my raid availability at all (as I should be working the same hours, now I just have a commute), I figured I'd make a post about it.  The refinery's about a half-hour away, so my evening commute may or may not make me late for raids.  I don't anticipate this will affect my ability to raid or my raid attendance in the future.

This is to get a bit more visibility from the raiding and not-yet-raiding lv. 70's out there.

So in order to get myself to Karazhan attunement (which I know isn't "necessary" but it leads to free gems, rep rings, etc), I need to do the Karazhan key quest chain.

I would like some help doing this - however, I would like to hit specific instances in a specific order.  The reason for this?  I have literally EVERY Outland instance-based quest (except heroic quests) available on Drewpy, so if I do the instances in the following order, I would ONLY need to ask for help with each non-heroic instance once.

1)  Shadow Labyrinth - leads to quests in Steamvaults, Shattered Halls, and Arcatraz.

2)  Botanica
3)  Mechanar - these two lead to a quest in Arcatraz.

4)  Steamvaults
5)  Arcatraz - these two lead to a quest in Black Morass.

6)  Black Morass - completed Karazhan attunement!

In short, I might ask for some instance help after raids a few nights this week, possibly on the weekend.  By no means should anyone feel they HAVE to do any of this with me, but I would appreciate the help.
