So I got a little promotion of sorts at work - I'm no longer a "junior" process engineer, but rather an "associate" process engineer.
I've also been offered an opportunity to do some on-site work at a local refinery which I believe I will be taking. While this shouldn't affect my raid availability at all (as I should be working the same hours, now I just have a commute), I figured I'd make a post about it. The refinery's about a half-hour away, so my evening commute may or may not make me late for raids. I don't anticipate this will affect my ability to raid or my raid attendance in the future.
Just figured I'd put the word out there.

Sorahn — Fri, 07/11/2008 - 20:24Grats on the promo! Commutes are somewhat of a mixed blessing, IMO. Most people tend to think they suck, but most of them have probably never had no commute. I effectively got rid of my commute about 8 years ago when I bought a house 0.5 miles from work. No commute == no downtime beween home/family & work. Sometimes I wish I had a half hour in a car just to be alone for a bit...

Daily: 6:00a.m. - Wake

5:30p.m. - Leave from work when car-pool arrives

Shihli — Thu, 07/10/2008 - 12:48I've actually done the commuting thing - when I interned at BP up in Blaine, I drove about 30-40min from my apartment to the refinery.
Coincidentally, I was working 4-10's so my days looked like this:
5:30am - wake up
6:20am - hit the road
7:00am - arrive at work
5:00pm - get off work, start driving home
5:40pm - get back to the apartment, eat dinner
10:00pm - go to bed
... have to say, that summer kind of sucked but was also kind of fun.
