Reliable raider, but there are some open questions

Reading the comments and your responses, however, leaves me with a few open questions. With regards to your gemming/enchanting/spec, it seems you are simply taking advice (from players or websites) and implementing those suggestions verbatim (or as near as you understand it to be) without really understanding why (and, for the record, I didn't tell you to ONLY gem for int and ignore all bonuses, i said, after you satisfy meta requirements, gem straight red UNLESS you have a bonus of 20 int or more, or there are other circumsances (i.e., its okay to drop some int in favor of hitting the haste break points (especially the 2005 one (and here i just wanted to nest another set of parens)))).
It would be great to have you on the team and in the guild full time, but I need to know that you can do the research, understand it, and implement it properly on your own. I would be happy to answer any questions you have (so long as you don't keep asking the same ones)!

I must admit though sometimes I dont' understand something they say, but do it regardless. I need to learn to start asking questions ( I guess if its not the same one over and over......even though I like to do that! lol ). And for the record you didn't tell me to only gem for int. You did tell me if the bonuses is 20int or higher I could gem for something else, I apologize if I sounded like it was just for straight Int.
I can do my own research, and understand it most of the time. On things I don't understand I will come to you or cromin in the future to get advice before making a major change.

Ghli — Fri, 08/05/2011 - 01:47While I don't mind the heapings of good words being praised for you, your app has just raised some red flags to me.
#1: You applied to DF on March 4th as a fresh resto/feral druid that was in <Illusion>, got ginvited +/- a week of June 10th, gquit between then and now (a month?), rejoined <Illusion>, and re-applied to Downfall again 2 days ago. Why did you gquit in the first place?
#2: I just looked at your resto gear that was cached on wowhead. I noticed that you basically did no reforging (Cromi, go suggest something about this if this is wrong). I also noticed that you have mostly ignored most socket bonuses and gemmed for int (mostly), including 2 20 int bonuses you could have taken. The sockets are both blue and are located in your pants and chest; regemming both of these sockets for int/spirit would get net you 40 more spirit at the cost of loosing no int. Another gemming that looks wrong to me is you using a Nightmare Tear from Wrath in your relic slot. Any current cata gem is atleast 2-4 time better.
#3: Enchants. You should have been fully exalted with Therazane 7 months after cata released, yet your Therazane rep is slightly below 1/2 of honored. Go get your Therazane tabard, and run the heroics and raids while you're wearing that tabard. You having the correct helm enchant tells me that you have another main/alt that has revered rep with Guardians of Hyjal.
#4: Gear. You're still using a relic from heroic VP. Shouldn't this relic have been replaced with Relic of Norgannon or Relic of Eonar by now that 4.2 has come out, and the 4.0 relics are now buyable with Justice Points? You still are wearing 2 heroic blues (helm and shoulders). ZA has replacements for these two slots. ZA came out at the end of April. You did not finish a ZA or ZG untill June 13 and June 12, respectivly. You have finished 3 ZA and 3 ZG runs from that time untill now. Why is there a gap between when 4.1 released and the beginning of june? Was it work, school, finals, or what?
Don't view this as a negative tone towards you. These things that I have mentioned might help your chances in getting in if you correct them, or explain what is going on.

On #1 I did apply for Downfall at one point, but never heard anything back ( Never got a ginvite and app was removed when I went inactive ). I've been in illusion on this toon since I leveld him up.
#2 The reason I have no socket bonus ( I did at one point ) was it was suggested by Nelk that I gem strictly for Int regardless of the bonus. I took his advice as he was the one that offered it to me at the time. The gem in the relic, I believe that is what cromi was talking about, I should replace with the Int gem which I will do. Just so used to putting in the prismatics. I do plan on reforing, just keep getting mixed advice from forums saying our mastery is better now, so I am at a toss up which I should reforge. I don't know if I should take it out of mastery to get soft cap on haste, or crit. So if cromi has some suggestions on that I would greatly appreciate them.
#3 I have just now started doing the Therazane rep as I am trying to get the shoulder enchant. I played this toon off and on for a bit, until Shroom needed me more and more for raids so I am trying to get him back up to where he needs to be. I do currently have the Therazane tabard equpied, just hadn't showed up yet cause I didn't log out. And yes I bought the head enchant on one of my other toons.
#4 I am currently working on my gear, been running heroics and the raids to try and get it where it needs to be. The reason it took so long to complete a ZA/ZG was my account was inactive at the time of its release. That is the reason for the gap in the history because of my summer classes that I had to focus on.
All in all I am currently working on getting my gear up to par, I did slack by devoting a lot of time to my DK, but since Shroom needs healers more I have started back on this toon. I know he is a little bit behind, but I am working on getting him where he needs to be.
I do not view this as a negative tone. I find all constructive critisim welcomed. Thanks again for your reply =)
Gift of the Earthmother is
cromi — Fri, 08/05/2011 - 09:22Gift of the Earthmother is probably better to spec into than probably your improved nourish. It's instant throughput especially to your rejuvinations and it helps with some tank healing if you're one to let your lbs expire. As for the gemming, always gem int but kaluu is right, if you can grab those gem procs and keep all that int, there is no reason not to. Might I ask what your current healing process is? Are you tank or raid healing, and how are you doing this?
As for reforging it's the players choice, usually between haste and mastery. You want to be aware of your haste breakpoints because they are incredibly useful for raid healing. Then there is mastery which is fantastic to have because it procs off of hots (Raz can correct me if I'm wrong). Always reforge away from crit and into spirit (if the asses on gear decided to replace your spirit with crit), they do the same thing except for spirit gives mana back and is more effective. Personally I reforged into haste, but that was for hitting the 2005 breakpoint for a 9th wg tick. I believe you have Daisey in your raid, if you can beg for a DI and hit the 1573 through gemming and reforging (with your gear this may prove rather difficult but it can probably be done without the loss of int.) Then you'll be gaining the same proc that I do.
Not having a lock in raid is my biggest regret this xpac.

Gentoo — Fri, 08/05/2011 - 14:21I am about to respec so I will pick that talent up. I do have some questions about other talents. Is living seed really worth the 3 points now and days? Most new builds I see since its not a neccessary to get Efflorescence have dropped it. Also how do you feel about Natures's Bounty? The only reason I picked up this talent is for the cast speed increase I get from casting Regrowth on OC proc, but again I see newer builds dropping it.
I currently swtich healing roles, sometimes I am on raid, and somtimes I am on a tank. When on raids, I always keep lifebloom up on a tank and wild growth and rejuv when needed. If I get a OC proc and no one needs healing I'll pop it on the tank to get the mastery. When I'm on tank I keep rejuv, lb up and wild growth up on the group and throw up rejuv on raiders when needed.
Thank you for your reforging input. I have a lot of crit I need to reforge out of, but just wasn't sure which to reforge it into since the mastery change. I know I need to hit my breakpoints in haste when I can, but sometimes does seem difficult without losing int =/

You don't have a speed increase for your boots, which you can always reforge the haste for your druid haste soft cap (you'd end up losing only 15 points in stats but the movement increase is worth it). And you don't have 40 int on your relic which I thought was odd. Other than that everything looks real good. -Resident Hipster/nature child/ druid guy?

The reason I went with the haste over the lavawalkers was because of the price. I plan on upgrading my boots soon ( I hope ) and wanted to wait to spend the gold on that enchant until I did. On the relic I'm not sure what you mean? Why didn't I put in a 40int gem? Or is there a enchant to put on a relic for 40int? If its the first, I don't know I'm just used to putting in +10 to all stats lol.
