Indeed your shots never miss, you're way over hit cap.

I see that you have opted not to go for any of the t10 set bonuses, can you please share why? The t10 2pc bonus is very good, and replacing your helm with t10 for example, would allow you to drop hit AND pick up armor penetration, which seems to be the route youre trying to head. If you're going to be doing that, use your nightmare tear in a slot that you can actually pick up a socket bonus for, and replace every other slot with 20 arp. No random agi/crit gems please.

Not sure why you opted for Herkuml, I guess if you were using a really bad trinket then it would still be an upgrade... or something.. :\

Replace glyph of chimera shot with glyph of serpent sting... why you weren't using glyph of serpent sting to begin with is completely beyond me, but chimera shot, i used to think was good too, but i was informed (and rightfully so) that its really not as useful as it looks.

Drop a point from improved arcane shot, drop it into silencing shot. Macro silencing shot into your other shots or use it manually. If you use it on cd, instant 1% dps increase, and it gives you more raid utility too :O

Also your pet's spec is sort of weird, assuming Thor is your raiding pet. The oddness in the first few tiers is excusable but 1 point into wild hunt>>1 point into shark attack.

Also, you're an engineer. WHY are you using 20 agi to gloves? Get rockets please. And 12 hit/12 crit while you're already over hit cap is sort of strange. Rocket boots = makes you FAST + 24 crit rating. Get that please.

Ill start off with the T10 thing i have the 2 set, BUT if i dont use the helm i currently have i will be under hit cap i found that the 2 set bonous isnt that great its only for your pet not for you, and the trink I use is was a great upgrade at the time when I was still using greatness card the trink I have now brings my dps up more than greatness ever did.

I speced my pet the same as a hunter on horde that was geared out the ass and wasin the best raid guild on horde side, as far as the silencing shot Ive been meaning to change it but I never get around to it and thats the same with my gloves and the rockets just never got around to it. The only reason is because its not a HUGE noticible difference in dps if i have atm but i will gladly get those.

as far as Glyphs go i just used the glyphs recomended from elitest jerks

I'm assuming you have a draenei in your raid group. If not, you should probably get one because heroism, believe it or not, is pretty awesome! Anyways, as you know, they give 1% hit. Also, even with a point into steady shot, you still have 1 point in imp arcane shot. Now, if you're gemming for arpen and you're still using arcane shot, then that means you're doing it wrong, so I'm going to go ahead and say that point is useless as well. That means you can throw a point into focused aim. In fact, my hunter has TWO points into focused aim, i did this by only putting one point into rapid recuperation.

At the time I made my post you were actually at 9.2% hit, so even if you were at 8.8% now, to me that is still high. .8% hit over the cap (or 1.8% with a draenei, 2.8% with a point in focused aim) means that you're wasting itemization points that could otherwise be used to pick up dps increasing stats like agi,arp,crit, even haste (ew).

T10 is amazing, I'm not sure what you're talking about. The only recent tier set bonus that has been for pets only has been T9 4pc. Both the T10 2pc and 4pc are pretty amazing, but the 2pc is alot better, for me it is worth almost 500 dps.

And yeah, I know herkuml is alot better than something like greatness, but it's still disgusting. You might want to look into spreadsheeting a needle-encrusted scorpion since you're still far from arp cap, but I'm pretty confident herkuml will still come out on top. On another note, I'm not sure why you started gemming for armor penetration with 493 arp on your gear, generally you want to wait till you have atleast 700-800 (and 700 is only if you're a BS/JC).

Just because your pet is specced in a certain way and you were in a good guild does not mean that your pet spec is ideal and best for dps. I can understand putting points into stam for increased pet survivability, but seriously, wild hunt is alot better than shark attack, it scales alot better :P

And for glyphs:

The third glyph is totally up in the air, but most people prefer kill shot or hawk.

And seriously, just cause something isn't a huge noticeable difference doesnt mean you shouldn't do it. If I started using blue quality gems on my tank, the difference between 46k and 47k health isn't a huge noticeable difference but it's still lame :P

We expect to you coherently back up and defend your gear/gem/enchant and talent choices with facts. Not saying you haven't done that yet but it is one thing we look for here. After you do that if you disagree with someone here after they tell you to fix things you then hook us up with lovely parses to defend your decisions and support your case. Also if you are going to cite something like elitistjerks.com and a specific hunter post by them then go ahead and link to the exact post where you are getting the information.

Guild apps are one of the few times we can truly tear someone apart top to bottom to make sure everything is squared away and clear up any misconceptions they might have.

Re: Hit cap itself so that I can stay on tangent. You are currently at 290 which IS* .84% off your hard hit cap. Your 2p t10 is 15% more damage to you and your pet for 10 seconds with a CoH auto shot.

so now you need to ask yourself the following questions.

"I'm at this point gemming for ArP which means I should rarely be using arcane shot unless I'm on the run. In this case I have 2 points I can move as kinetics said above. 1 point in silencing shot macroed to my abilities will give me extra damage so that's a good idea. I'm a dpser I like damage. Now for the other one I have a floater point. Where do I put it?

Well do I usually expect a draenei? (y/n)

If yes, then I can replace my helm as that will leave me 9 hit under cap which is better than wasting valuable itemization points. It also means I can find someplace to better spend this talent point if I need to.

If no, then I can put this point into focused aim to free up itemization on gear and exchange hit for lovely tasty arp. "

Now I'm not saying that is what you sound like but for some of our raiders that is the decision we make. Even with the ever increasing buffs in ICC we all want to bring our A game.

TL;DR - Disagreeing on an app is fine, but if you are going to cite something then give us a link to your source and post parses of yourself so you can give us an idea of your damage. This also shows us that you can be a good member and resource to the community which is what we are. Community first and Raiding guild second.

I am hit capped if you look again, normally I do have a draenei in the grp. stats are merely a tool to see what someone is capable of the real test is seeing someone in action. I use arcane shot cuz it hits harder than silencing shot when on bosses ive only ever seen silencing shot crit for 4-5k my arcane shot on a constant basis crits for 7-8k so i find it to be more usefull. but if you check my spec now i tweeked it so that i could have more hit so that i can wear my t10 helm for the set bonous, but i was always at my hit cap never below it.

I never disagreed on the ap I just gave reasons why I had those things. I didnt get around to those things because i need mats to do them and I have other toons that i raid with so I havent had time to farm mats thats why i said that that in NO way shows you what kind of guildie or raider i am. so plz dont judge a book by its cover. I have been told on more than one occasion that this was one of the nicest guilds on our server and people are right you have been very helpfull im still looking for some good UIs or mods if you have any suggestions plz tell.

I give up. If you're not willing to min/max then so be it. Downfall is a progression raiding guild, if you're already having issues on the app phase understanding why you shouldn't be using arcane shot, for example, in your rotation, then I'm seriously at a loss. Yes, I realize stats only give a part of the picture, but guess what, since you havent uploaded ANY kind of parse, thats the only part of the picture we have. And the fact of the matter is, if you honestly are refusing to do everything within your power to maximize your dps (and thus usefulness as a raider), there is going to be problems. If you can outdps me as you are right now, thats all fine and dandy, all that means is if you take our suggestions into account, youll be able to outdps me by even MORE :P

And honestly, stop bringing up the elitistjerks thing. You said elitistjerks told you to not use glyph of serpent sting, as long as MM has been a viable spec in this expansion (since 3.0?) glyph of serpent sting has been the best glyph. That's why we were wondering about it. We know what the site is. What we're worried about is how you were able to misinterpret the information on that site.

Easy way to get a parse up imo.
