Tell us a little of your history in WoW.:

I have played WoW since about the end of WotLK and early Cataclysm.

How do you feel about the state of your class in the game?:

I feel like frost mages overall sustained damage is not as much as other classes, we start off the fights with more of a burst that lasts a minute or so and then fall off a little bit until CD's are up.

What led you to our guild and what would you like to accomplish with us?:

One of my friends recently applied and we were both looking around for a guild to join that was serious about the game and raided often. I would like to finish all the tiers of content as they are released.

Which addons do you consider essential and why?:

DBM: It gives cooldowns on the bosses abilties which helps you prepare for them SOOO much and also alerts you when they are cast.
Bartender: Lets you customize all of your bars and hotkeys very easily.
Weakauras: Can help you manage your own cooldowns without having to look all the way down at your ability bars.
Grid: Makes the default blizzard raid panels WAY easier to customize and use.

What do you like in particular about the UI you are currently using?:

I like the organization of it as well as my important abilities around the center of my screen. I dont have to look very far for most of my cooldowns. It helps my rotation a lot.

PvE

Raid Experience:

Most of the past expansions i have been raiding just with casual guilds but this expansion i am looking to take raiding much more seriously. I have only ran highmaul with my previous guild. I am a very fast learner and i do my research though.

Describe Your Playstyle:

Well i like to open off the fight by pre-potting and using mirror images, frozen orb, frost bomb and icy veins. All except frost bomb will be cast on cooldown. I will always use my brainfreeze procs. Fingers of frost will be used with frost bomb up. Frostbolt is my filler spell. Amplify magic will be used if the healers call for it.

What specializations do you have experience with?:

Mainly frost because it seems like the best spec at the moment by a longshot.

What are your most and least favorite boss encounters?:

So far i think Imperator Mar'Gok in Highmaul is definately the most fun because of all the abilities you get to dodge and it is so satisfying to down it.
Butcher is also fun because its a dps war and you get to see who is doing the most dps and where you stand.
I enjoy all of the fights in highmaul really.

Well i'm 16 years old and i'm a sophomore in highschool. And i've played video games since i was about 7 years old because they're really fun to me.

Hey Dealgar thanks for applying it's always good to see more mages around.

In your screenshot I see you're running Frost Bomb but your armory has you using Ice Nova at the moment. Can you tell me what talents you're using for fights in Highmaul?

I would recommend using Greater Invisibility over Cauterize for your defensive talent. It takes getting used to and gets rid of your safety net but it can allow you to completely ignore certain mechanics and avoid a lot of damage.

Arcane is currently beating frost on straight up single target fights like Kargath and Butcher so are you comfortable with switching to Arcane for fights where it's superior?

If you haven't already I highly suggest checking out altered-time.com for more info because it's by far the best mage resource available to us.

Like Cyzin mentioned if you have any logs I could look over that would be ideal but if not we can work around it.

Sorry for the delayed response i was out of town,
As for the moment i am using frost bomb over ice nova because i feel like it has overall better sustained damage.
After reading the patch notes and seeing that arcane/fire got buffed highly, i have began practicing arcane more as i see it being a better spec than frost in the future. Fire seems to be strong on high cleave fights such as Tectus. I have not seen arcane in action yet but i will be trying it out tonight.

Also, do you have any logs. We like numbers. They are a good metric of skill vs gear. If you don't personally log (many don't) maybe you know of a raid that you participated in where someone else logged and can provide a link.

Versatility

Hey Dealgar, I am one of the tanks for our top raid at the moment, 7/7 normal and 1/7 heroic. I noticed you said that you play frost because you feel it's the best spec currently, however, there was a recent hotfix and arcane got huge buffs and is now the current highest single target spec for mage. Are you comfortable learning arcane or do you know it already? While frost is still good for high mobility fights, it would certainly be appealing if you are capable and would be willing to switch to a higher performing spec when applicable.

Your app looks pretty good, hopefully someone (Traziemykel) looks at your app soon because we need casters.
