Raid Experience:

I never played in Vanilla at all. I started in BC, but never raided because I never took the game serious enough. In WotlK, I have cleared all content on normal modes, and almost all content on HM. From Firefighter, to One Light, to Lich King. The only fights i'm yet to clear with Forged by Fire is HM Sindy, HM Lich King, and HM Putricide. However I know how each fight goes, so i'm prepped and ready to kick some arse!

I had to leave because I was taking my girlfriend to dinner, i'm sorry if that bothers anyone. If I was going to leave for no reason, I would have left during the trash wipes.

I'm sorry, but I didn't forsee RS 25 taking almost 2 hours, I figured 1 hour tops (that's what I told my lady), and she was getting on my case about it almost running 2 hours. I stayed for as long as her patience would allow it.

having said that everyting else seems pretty in order. I've never raided with this person but statistaclly he's there...i'd have to see some rotations and damage in action to comment on things you can't find from armory.

Anything you guys would like to see I'd be more than up for the challenge. A first impression is all it takes to make or break getting into a decent guild, as long as i'm given one chance, I know i'll stand out amongst the many other applicants.

Ok, I will pretend that this is your first application to us.

This application looks pretty good. I like how you described 2 fights being your favorite and for different reasons. We spent a good portion of last night wiping on HM putricide and i got a lot of whispers from newish people saying how much fun they were having, because the fight was actually very challenging. Its good to see that not everyone gets their kicks by mindlessly farming an instance.

As far as KB goes, we currently have 1 shadow priest who has pretty good attendance and pulls good enough numbers to merit a spot as a regular. I am not looking to replace him (until hockey season starts). We also have had plenty of good ranged lately, but attendance has been iffy for some.

Here's the game plan we have for apps in KB. When 6:30 hits and we aren't full, i check the DFrecruit channel for applicants online. Me and the other officers take a look at what we need and talk about who we bring in.

Long story short: if you want a shot, with KB at least, my advice is to save your instance lockout until thursday and be on at 6:30. Dont be afraid to whisper me and ask me the status of raid. If you are on, and we have a need for a ranged, you have a good chance of getting a raid spot for the night so we can take a look at you.

Well, a couple of things.

I have heard very strong NO's from a few people with words like "arrogant" and "jerk" associated with them. This worries me, as you are applying to a guild and not a raid. I honestly do not remember your previous applications, but from what i understand, they ended poorly.

I have also heard some good things from a couple people. I HAVE seen very negative past things be forgiven around here and turn out to be very positive situations. Anything could be possible.

One thing I can safely say is that in our raids there is ZERO elitism, arrogance or childish behavior (except for sargus). We aren't here to fluff our internet wangs out on display.

Here's my opinion: Im all for keeping your application open and getting some more opinions from the other officers, but I wouldn't hold out much hope. Im up for seeing where your application stands in a week or so. Im also going to find out what the hell happened with your previous 2 apps (maybe you can help explain).

Best of luck with your application.

My other 2 apps we're denied for good reason, they were written horribly, and a lot of ego/arrogence was written as well. I wrote them under the impression that I was the best shadow priest in the world (which wasn't the case and still isn't). I never took the time to research my class and stay up to date. I'm very glad you guys did deny my application, because I was an egotistical jerk then.

It took time for me to realize all of this, that's why I strive to be a better person. Though sadly, it seems people in here cannot see past that, which I find to be a let down.

All in all, i'm here for the same reasons the guild master is for, to raid, to progress, and to have fun doing so, and potentially making some good friends along the way.

Thank you all for commenting, as for me being arrogent, rude, brash, etc. Yes, I have been before. But like I said, with age comes wisdom, and I learned being a jerk about things wasn't the way to teach people how to do a raid, or arena correctly. For example, in that GKP he was talking about, instead of being like " you guys are bad, l2 play, I broke the fight down and explained to them what they we're doing wrong, the pros and cons of not moving from the slime explosion, etc etc.

You are right, anyone can put on a face, but if I turned out to be a total jerk, any officer or guild leader has the right to give me the boot, no questions asked. I'm confident in that aspect of myself that I see myself with a permanent raid position, joking around with all, and having a good time.

You do know that jerks can stay jerks even they appear to not be, or just showing face for applying. I don't like to bring up stuff that is old, but sadly, i have to bring up what happened to a certain boomkin app. Started off with with being maybe promising, to finding out who the app was, and quickly deteriorating and with retorting that he (the app) was very glad to ninja Scaron's pants from VoA25.

Now, I'm not saying that Divineheresy will follow the same path as that app. But, would you think someone like Waffles or Pancakes will change their attitude if they were to app to Downfall? Who knows, but I should would not like someone like them in guild.

Downfall has really changed a lot within the past 2-3 months, not as many of the regs are on anymore other than raid, and those that are on either are A) not that chatty or social in guild with the exception of a few or B) have been increasing in the lvl of douchery. I also know that once very cool and nice people can/have become massive jerk-offs as well. It goes both ways. Those few that are still nice/helpful/non-asshats make being in this guild worth it, cause they still (hopefully stays that way) outnumber the douche bags.

Hopefully my app is still being considered. I just left FbF last night after talking with one of the officers, all of our tanks left the guild, and our good healers too. #2, gearscore doesn't reflect the person's attitude, only a reflection of what a person has gotten from said gear, which leads to.....

#3, you didn't BOTHER to follow up on your first app after knoppix wrote a VERY extended amount of information for you. Your second app got closed almost immediately after you posted it because you didn't bother following up on your first app. How are we to know that this, your third time applying, that you won't do the same exact thing?

Probably going to ask to point this to the "close this app quickly because we don't want to bother with it" files.

Your right, bad players with gear still pull bad dps. That's why I made a point in saying I have learned quite alot about my class, and my spec, and it shows in my raid dps. Gear score doesn't equal attitude, but I believe my application reflected my attitude (at least in an application sense) that i'm a very optimistic player looking for some good times with good people.

As for what knoppix posted, like I said, at the time, I was still learning alot about my class, and I didn't have the proper answers at the time. I was very arrogent at the time, and didn't put in the time to actually learn all the things a shadow priest has to offer. I wouldn't have spent my time typing up another application if I didn't feel I was able to compete with some of the best in our server.
