Hazze App notes
Scaron — Wed, 04/13/2011 - 07:25IMO, after looking at 25m parses from last night, and taking into consideration that he's only been playing WoW for about 5 months or so, I'd say that this guy has my vote.
There are a couple things to work on, but they're mostly minor refinements...some of which should make your DPS shoot through the roof.
First, and I can't believe I'm saying this, I think I'd like to see your DoT uptime on parses come down a bit. Maybe. I looked at the Chimaeron fight (a good one to measure how a person's rotation comes into play). Here's the thing with DoT uptimes, they're so high (95-99%) I'm wondering if you're refreshing dots before the second to last tick has a chance to go off. This would actually be resulting in a DPS loss if you're using a global on a dot refresh where you could be using an incinerate instead. This fight may also be an anomoly...you're having to ensure your dots are up and the forced misses due to fight mechanics might be artificially inflating the degree to which you're reapplying dots.
If you look at parses aim to have your dot uptime at about what Watchesup's uptime is. He's almost always optimal...(dont' look at mine as they're usually low).
I'd still switch that haste gem in your pants to an int / haste gem. That will get you 20 more int at the expense of 20 haste. Even though you're aiming to raise haste in the long run, the extra int should provide a small dps increase.
I noticed that on the Chimaeron fight you used six globals on Fel Flame. That seems high to me given that you don't have the 4pc bonus yet. The only time you should be using FF is on unavoidable movement and then only after Corruption, Bane of Doom, and (hopefully) immolate are up, Conflag is on CD, and you don't have an instant SF proc...until you get the 4pc, you should basically really reduce the use of FF.
I don't know if your infernal was on CD for your Chim kill, but if not you should be using it.
Another really big thing (and this could actually boost your DPS substantially) is your conflagrate usage. Watches got off 40 Conflagrates during that fight (2 misses). You got off 24 (4 misses). Your DPS should improve substantially if you're careful to be casting Conflag on CD...it's a really high priority spell and should only be waited on if you're casting SF, bane of doom, or (obviously) immolate. Hopefully though, you're timing your SF so that you can avoid a holdup on Conflag, and remember that you basically have a 15 second window in which to refresh Bane of doom and not lose any dps (refresh it when it has between 14 and 0 seconds remaining).
Finally, there's improved soul fire. Keeping up ISF is your number 1 priority. Watches parses showed about a 63% uptime on that buff for him, yours showed about a 36% uptime. Here's a visual:
Watches ISF was up at these points of the fight:
Hazze your uptime looked like this:
Looks like you didn't start off the fight with a soul burn and instant soulfire, which is how I usually begin, and it looks like Watches does as well.. There are reasons things fall off, I get that, but getting that one back up asap is important is it boosts your damage by 8% when it's up (which I'm sure you already know). Also, lest you think that I'm tossing stones in glass houses, I pulled this from one of my own parses:
It's not perfect either, but my uptime hovered around 85% for this fight. Think of it this way, about 50% percent more of my fight (approx. similar fight times) I was getting an extra 8% damage out of my dots, incinerates, conflagrates, chaos bolts, etc.
This post was very detailed, but that's because I'm excited to have you around. Keep learning and keep raiding with us. I'll mention that, not having talked with you in person, I don't know what you're like in vent or to chat with, but you do seem to follow directions well and that makes me happy.
Let's see if we can't get your DPS to come up by about 3-5k too. ;)
Given the way this one turned
Scaron — Sun, 05/01/2011 - 11:41Given the way this one turned out, it'll be a while before I'm going to give this kind of feedback again. If people want me to be giving PVE feedback to warlocks, let me know via PM on the site and be sure that it's not a dickhead. I mean, to take feedback that's capable of bumping your dps by about 5k or more and shit on it, well, not cool.
To be honest, this has me more than a little pissed.
Also, the fact that Hazze straight up lied about having parses (that were, frankly, shitty) on his bloodfaith app is an indicator of how little you belonged here. If anybody has any bloodfaith friends, they may want to make them aware of the parses that Hazze accumulated here.

Scaron — Sun, 05/01/2011 - 12:04Also, for posterity, and for any other warlock app who tries to pull this shit, I updated his bloodfaith app with the parses he claimed didn't exist but that downfall was so happy to provide him with.
Dear apps: Don't think for a second that my vindictiveness knows any bounds. Pull shit like this and i'll trash you too.

You can actually slow the progress of competing guilds by posting true and accurate information that makes the recipients of that information feel as though you're taking away some of their freedom (see Brehm's [1966] Reactance Theory). If they're too stupid to not be beaten by a little social science, we'll pass them in progression before too long.
To be able to do that with a few parses and a little commentary, well, that's priceless.
I so win.

Scaron — Tue, 04/19/2011 - 08:38Hazze,
It's been good to have you run with the 25-man. Can you confirm whether you've looked at the above post--specifically regarding keeping up Improved Soul Fire. I think it will help your dps a lot if you do.
Staying active on your app is a part of the application process just like being there for raids.
Hazze, Thanks for your app.
Scaron — Sat, 04/02/2011 - 14:12Hazze,
Thanks for your app. Here are some things to do.
1. /join dfrecruit - we'll talk to you there and check for fill ins there from time to time. It's a good thing to do. We're not all always super active there, but if you are, we'll probably notice...there's a pretty strong relationship between joining our chat channel and getting a ginvite. It's not a guarantee, but if you do it there's a greater chance of a ginvite.
2. Be online during our 25man raid times. Even if the full 25 doesn't form (although you being there increases the chances of it forming), if you're on you'd stand a decent chance of being able to hop in a forming 10man or something. Your gear is pretty good at this point, some things to keep working on, but no glaring red flags.
3. Work on your gemming. Using one of your +67 gems on a haste rather than an int gem is not helping you. There are several areas where you could optomize your gem usage...i.e. there's one spot where you're using a straight haste gem to grab a +20int bonus...why not use a +int +haste gem to trade 20 haste for 20 int. I'm pretty positive that every scale factor for every warlock this patch is telling them that int is more important than haste. Your meta...it needs to change...do you know what it should be changing to?
4. You're a tailor; it's the best profession in the game for a warlock (probably most casters). Any guesses why that is? (Hint: for having max tailoring, what is it that you are not using that you should be?)
5. For a dude who's only been playing the game for 4 months now, i'd say that you're coming along pretty nicely as a player, you've figured a lot of things out. Keep working on Destro, Demo is, right now, a very situationally useful spec...most fights it sucks. Destro, however, is a much more generally useful spec.
6. Speaking of specs yours looks good. It seems like you know enough about the game to understand there's a reason for cookie cutter specs. Glyphs, also look good.
Couple of things to fix. Try to be online during our raid times so we can get some parses up on you.
No Problem
Hazze — Sat, 04/02/2011 - 15:511. Okey ill be joining that chat
3. I'll work on changing my haste to int gems, and for Meta gem woops my bad lol i changed it to what its supposed to be Intellect/Crit, screw mana. Getting some help from a friend and learning how to gem properly.
4. Lightweave Embroidery incoming =) hehehe
5. Yeuh i noticed my Demo spec sucks sht for Chimearon, soo ill need to learn Destro to get top dps on my toon.
Okay ill be online when u guys are raiding, Thanks for the help.

This is one we need to keep an eye on. Very promising.

shroom — Sat, 04/02/2011 - 08:35I like your app, though im not a warlock so your talents and gear are gonna have to be pulled apart by someone else. For raiding purposes, are you looking for a 10-man or a 25-man, or does it matter? How variable is your work schedule? For instance, a waiter/ess might have a completely different schedule every week, but a desk jockey can pretty reliably forcast their schedule for months, with the exception of late nights and buisness trips. DF weekday raids are evening raids. Our 25-man is currently looking for a few DPS fill-ins. 6:30-9:30 m-w. Would that be an issue?

Hazze — Sat, 04/02/2011 - 11:33Doesnt matter wether its 10 man or 25 man, i've never done a 25man so it would be pretty cool trying that out. The only set schedule for me is Friday 10:30am-3:30pm and this is my last week for school and finals so, ill be done by the second week of april and ready to raid anytime. 6:30-9:30 M-W sounds good
