I try out a lot of mods. There are a number of them I would be frustrated to not have when raiding. I've configured the following into my raid setup;

- PowerAuras (the best addon ever, I track combopoints, poisons, bleeds, procs, self buffs, raid buffs, heroism, SnD, HfB, sunder, and my health with it)
- Bartender (moving/resizing action bars)
- X-perl (raidframes)
- Outfitter (for my outfits)
- Recount (dmg meter)
- Omen (Threat meter)
- oRA2 (Raid Assist tool)
- OmniCC (cooldown tracker)
- Deadly Boss Mods (for timers, tracking things in fights)

Outside of raids I use a bunch more for various things, Atlas, Auctioneer, SexyMap etc, etc.

PvE

Raid Experience:

I have always raided on this character, as a rogue.

I didn't raid in Vanilla WoW, but at 70 cleared all the level 60 content including MC, UBRS, LBRS, ZG, AQ 20/40, original Ony and original Naxx (With T3 to show for it). I've lead many groups into all these instances and understand the fights all well. I've also organized and killed the world dragons a number of times.

I started raiding level appropriate in Karazhan. I was in a small raiding guild that were all new to the game and had leveled together. I organized a dkp system and setup applications and a calendar for that guild which I lead for about 4 months, we didn't clear past Kara.

After that I joined up with one of the top alliance raiding guilds on the server which was at that time raiding the end of SSC. I full cleared that instance many times with that group, as well as attending successful bear runs in ZA, and killing Gruul and Mag all the time I was just a raiding member, not leading.

Shortly after we entered TK I became an officer and was someone who explained boss strat, managed apps and dkp. I remained an officer Hyjal and through Black Temple. We were killing Vashj, KT, and Arch every week we were working through BT, and patch 3.0 came out right after we got to Illidan. We killed Illidan and Brutallis in SwP before Wrath launched, post 3.0.

Very soon after wrath launched my guild disbanded and was reformed by a few friends and I was the GM. This guild is my current guild, and we cleared Naxx, 3 drakes, and Maly 10 and 25 pre Ulduar, cleared Ulduar 10/25 and killed Algalon 10. We've completed hard modes there up to Freya and I have a 1/2 key for 25 and a complete key for 10 man Algalon. In ToGC 10 I've cleared with 50 attempts, and have experience but have not killed Anub in ToGC 25. Currently we've cleared everything to Sind on 10/25 ICC.

Short of Sind, the LK, heroic Anub and Algalon 25 I have killed everything in the game.

I'm checking daily to keep appraised of what's happening, but I feel like my hands are somewhat tied not being available to hop into some test runs.

Hello sir or madam, and welcome to the Downfall recruitment process. If you fancy a quick invite, have thin skin, or like purps over people then don't waste your time reading what follows, just press on now. If you are a skilled player, or even a player in need of a little molding, and you have time to dedicate to dead bosses, and to a community of people that do more together then play a video game, then here's a few things for you.

Recruitment Process

Step 1 Application : Well you've already completed this step by taking the time to complete our lengthy application. Some think it's silly, we have documented proof that it easily weeds out the douchebags before wasting too much of our time.

Step 2 Who are you? : Type /join dfrecruit in game. This will put you in our global chat channel for recruits. You'll find lots of Downfall members in that channel often shouting for people for random heroics. This will get your name out there, let people get to know you. The more people you get to know, the more people will begin to comment on your application, and thus keep it "alive"

Until you start to get comments from those who excel in your class, or those who have nice/not so nice things to say about you as they get to know you, it's up to YOU to keep your application active, it's not just a matter of posting and never coming back, we are a website oriented guild, get used to using it.

Step 3 Be There : Be online during raid times, its even better if you're on from start to finish, since people will DC mid raid. If you're apping to raid, it's a long and grueling process. We DO need consistant skilled players for both 25 man raids, and you're not the only person trying to get that spot. What we like to see is our apps posting on the raid events that they are available to fill in on a given night. Then if you've posted that you're going to be on that night, make sure to shout our a reminder in dfrecruit just as raid is about to start just to let us know you're on. It may be weeks, it may be months before you see action, but you may end up with a spot the first time you join the recruit channel.

All questions regarding raid invite status for Kitten Brigade should be directed Zariyah in game, or alt Sainttaryn.

All questions regarding raid invite status for Salmon should be directed Ataraxia.

Please do not bother the other raid leaders, they have lots to do already.

Well that's what you can expect for the next few weeks/months. We've had applicants that have waited over 3 months for an invite, we've invited people within a few days, every situation is different. So get you're name out there, get some comments, and good luck to you!

Huh, this is strange... Rep is good. Spec is good. Glyphs are good. Gems are good. Gear is good.

Except for one caveat... For all the gear you have, you failed to get the 2 pc T10. It's insanely good. Even worth using 251 pieces. Get that 2 pc.

Based on parses, numbers seemed to be expected on Saurfang. A bit low on Festergut for some reason.

On UI, the XPerl raid frames seem a bit large and excessive, but whatever.

Thanks for the comments. On Festergut my dps was a little lower since I was coordinating people moving in/out of melee with mark and directing around a few wayward ranged. Fights that require a lot of coordination and communication sometimes lower my dps since I'm usually the one raid leading and my rotation isn't as tight.

I used to take my rogue to Malt runs back in BC while leading, I had a REALLY hard time keeping a decent rotation while whatching timers, calling out what needed to be done, and basically watching to make sure ppl were doing what they were suppose to be doing. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't even a quarter of the rogue you & saedo are, I just thought I'd relate to the raid leading thingy...lol...and say +50 GKP for having the ability to heard kittens!

I took your advice and tossed on 251 tier shoulders for a couple bosses in ToGC tonight. I can see how good that set bonus really is.

I was waiting to get my pants and shoulders and upgrade both at the same time to juggle staying at a comfortable hit rating and keeping my expertise balanced, but I the tier bonus really adds a good boost when timed right, I think I'll just sacrifice the haste on my old shoulders for some extra hit and the bonus. Once I get my pants later in the week I can swap my ring out and I'm looking at a 300 dps upgrade according to EJ spreadsheet.

Yup. It's essentially 5% more energy regen provided you use it on every CD appropriately.

There's one thing I forgot to check earlier and that's since you're an engineer, I don't see you using bombs. Saronite Bombs, not the shitty belt ones.

You should be using them as part of your profession perk. It's the only way Eng is able to surpass other profession's dps stats. Every CD, and they don't reset swing timers or anything.

They should be cheap and easy to make, that's part of the price of being a dps engineer.

This was tonights raid, we did BP, BQL and about a dozen attempts on Sind. I just wanted to show off my saronite bomb/speed pot usage and general survivability in progression. Plus I managed to get a token tonight to upgrade those new tier shoulders, that may not show yet on armory though.

Also, as further evidence of my consistency as a raider this is a link to the progression sticky I keep for my server. Renaissance is the guild I've been leading the last year, and it's been consistently raiding top content for the entire time.

So I see the bombs on Blood Queen, 4 times in a 5 min fight, which is, ok. Can probably fit in 1 more, maybe.

But now looking at the buff/debuff list and I see a lack of CD usage. Cold Blood is never used. Vanish is never used to trigger Overkill. Tricks was used 3 times total, while btw, you were given 8 times by Commonkin.

So yea, you got your consumbles this time, but you lacked using your own innate CDs. lol

Good advice, I'd be the first to admit that I haven't totally worked ToT into my dps rotation. This is my second raid with that set bonus, I'll make sure that my usage improves. As for vanish triggering overkill I used that a number of times through the night, but neglected on the blood queen kill, same with coldblood. I don't have an excuse for it, I know better and need to work to tighten things up. I feel like this is a better show of my contribution then the logs I posted in my original app though, I didn't lead this raid and you can compare how much tighter my rotation and cooldowns are being managed.

I welcome the discussion though, working this out is part of min/maxing effectively. Thanks for taking the time to look it over. I would humbly assess myself at about 85% of the rogue I could be, but I'm confident have the understanding and experience to close that gap.
