Ghli — Tue, 03/29/2011 - 15:21In my opinion, you need to go back to basics. There's a lot of gear that you're currently wearing that I'm assuming you bought. There are also questionable gear choices that you have taken. For example, you're wearing an agility neck from the Valentine's boss. You have items with spirit. You're still using 2 pecies of crafted pvp gear. These items need to (and should have) been replace within a month of hitting level 85. You hit level 85 5 days after Catalysm released. You are exalted with almost every faction in Catalysm except Wildhammer as of Janurary 6th. You have done a total of ONE heroic as of the first of the year. I honestly don't know what you have been doing for the last 3 months besides questing in lower level zones in Azeroth.
Can this all be fixed? Sure, if you put some effort into it. It starts with doing level 85 heroics and level 85 instances. You're sorely lacking in Justice Points by not even doing any instances. Running around in Outlands and Azeroth won't help.

Alprazalam — Sun, 04/03/2011 - 14:53i agree with Ghli. There is alot that can be fixed here. I'll start with the simplest stuff.
Spec and Glyphs. Check this out LINK!!!! This is the build I use if I need to go arcane (I hate arcane, but I have to do it for HM Omnitron so I don't have splash damage from Living Bomb). There is 2 differences between this spec and your spec that I really like, but only one is necessary. The necessary change is you glyph of arcane barrage should be glyph of arcane missiles. Its just more DPS. Check out Ghli's link to the EJ forumns. I took 2 points out of Imp. Blink and put them into Invocation for more damage. Mainly because I feel that if a normal Blink can't get you out of what you need to get out of, then you need to pay more attention to your surroundings. The mana shield vs slow isn't a necessary change, but I rarely pop mana shield. I'd rather have the extra mana, but I tend to be more aggressive then others, even in my mana efficient phase, so I burn alot more mana. The conjure glyph can add up to alot more mana regen during a fight as well, like if you've used your 3 mana gems and have to POM conjure more gems during a fight.
I'm not going to look over your gear. Grats on having the gold to buy the epics, shame on you for not running heroics. Even if you don't run heroics, you could have atleast done some PVP and got the honor gear to upgrade the crafted pieces. Also, the weapon, off-hand, and wand from conquest points from winning 5 arena games per week will last you awhile when raiding. The off-hand and wand are actually second and third BIS items for raiding.
As far as item budget, gems, enchants, etc. The stat priority list is Intellect, Mastery/Haste, Hit, Crit. Gem sockets should always be either 40 intellect, or 20 intellect + 20 hit for blue sockets. Yellow sockets are kind of iffy, you would either wanna put 20 int + 20 haste gems in, or 20 int + 20 mastery gems in them. You would have to read up on EJ forumns to see whats up with haste vs mastery atm, the last I read they were about equal in DPS, but I don't read THAT much about arcane. When reforging, normally reforge to hit starting with spirit, then crit. I do see where u reforged haste to crit on an item, get rid of that. Haste is much more valuable to arcane than crit.

I'm not sure the answers to these questions made much sense at all. Total time played can be found by typing /played into
your chat bar. You will also find your total time played at 85 with the same command. "Mob boss" is not a talent build.
This is refering to talents in your talent tree that you have selected for your current build. I'm trying to make sense of the
last one I listed, and I'm still having trouble figuring out what you could have meant.
Also, I noticed that you only have 1 profession, and that one only has 2 skill points. It might be wise to level those up.
My first reaction to this app, is that you are not yet at a level where you can do much raiding right now. With some tutoring,
perhaps from Crawfeesh or another mage, you could get better. I'm glad to see that all of your gear is gemmed and
enchanted. We've had people much more experienced than you that didn't put out that kind of work. I encourage other
people here to give him some other suggestions about how he can become a raider.

surewhynot — Mon, 03/28/2011 - 18:11i agree im not ready for raiding... i have alot to learn... but i would like to learn from people that know... i would like to get into a guild that sometimes has the time to teach people like me that doent do much raiding and how to do it... what i need to learn.... i know i not going to be picked for raids when theres better player on... sometimes even good players need help...i know ill be at the bottom buts thats ok.. got to start somewhere...
