gemming and enchanting looks
Grasen — Sun, 11/24/2013 - 20:55gemming and enchanting looks pretty good. Only a couple changes I would make. Move the shoulder gems to agi stam gems maybe as you are over hit and unable to reforge more off so the hit on these gems is being wasted.
I usualy go for the agi crit gem for yellows. (see helm) but this is minimal.

that raids Tue/Sun. We frequently need subs to fill in Sunday due to 2
raiders (both dps) only making Tue each week and a 3rd (healer) has work
constraints and only raids 2 of 3 weeks.
That being said, I agree with Aeolyn. We almost never need a tank to substitute in our raid (we currently have a pally tank sub who rarely gets to join us due to the group constraints). I personally switched my tank to healz for my raid and I've tanked since BC. In addition, I have an alt bear and I can't even get that toon to tank in a guild flex raid.
We consistently need a 3rd healz and always can use a dps, but much prefer a
range dps (currently we have several subs lined up also). Do you have
any alts that could be geared up for raiding? That might be an option
to consider also.

Aeolyn — Sun, 11/24/2013 - 08:17There are so many ways to reforge / stat prioritize Blood that it's difficult to honestly get a feel for someone's capacity based on their character sheet for this particular spec (although you totally need a belt buckle to be raid-ready)
A couple things to get out of the way. First, tank spots in Downfall raids are currently hard to come by. I'm not about to tell someone that they aren't welcome because we have too many tanks -- the guild as a whole is bigger than the sum of its raid slots. But if you wish specifically to raid tank outside of Flex mode right now you're going to have a hard time finding something beyond a fill-in spot (speaking at least for the two raid groups that I run with).
I would encourage you and any tank applicant who might want to simply raid to work on devloping an offspec. I don't know if you want to DPS or if you're dead set on tanking -- but good DPS are always valuable and that would probably be an easier path to prove yourself. I don't want to tell you not to play a spec you love if you're a huge fan of Blood and dead set on it, but it's definitely worth being aware of other routes to take.
Honestly I'd like to get you in on some events and see how well you mesh with the rest of the guild -- because the people are more important than the stats on someone's character sheet by a huge margin.
I know this probably isn't the response you were looking for but I hope I have given you some degree of insight as to the current status of Downfall and what sort of situation you're looking at as a tank app. If you have any questions / concerns / whatever I'll be sure to check back here regularly. I do apologize for the delayed initial response.

So patience is a thing people are not used to anymore, so just bear with us because, you're not joining our guild as much as you're joining the community of people we've brought together. We don't ask for much, just to be a good person and to laugh at a joke from time to time. When it comes to raid, be prepared, come with 3-4 flasks at least and 40 potions and ready to use em every fight.
One thing Aeolyn said is sadly quite true, while I see forum posts on MMO-Champ bitching about not having enough tanks, we seem to be floating tanks all over the place. If you would rather not dps on your DK, then by all means edit your app to be your hunter, just at the top of your app you should be able to hit the edit button and go to town. Hunters are a commodity that we have a few of in this guild, it's a solid DPS slot because you guys tend to be top 10 dps and scale with gear pretty well. Also there are TONS of fights where being able to move and DPS still is a HUGE deal.
Also, be ready for critisism, you may not like every reply to your app, but they should be taken seriously, like I said, were a community more than a guild.
