Which addons do you consider essential and why?:
Love them, makes my job easier.
PvE
Raid Experience:
My priest has some raiding experience. When Burning Crusade was the latest expansion, my priest was able to experience most of the Sunwell Plateau. With Wrath of the Lich King - I've been only able to part-take in Naxxramas and then I took a break from World of Warcraft. I've return and have been able to pick-up quickly with the heroics and 10 man VoA's.
Personal
What timezone are you in?:
Washington
Tell us a little about yourself.:
I'm an active person - love playing sports (recreational). As well as gaming whether it be console or PC - I enjoy both. Since this site is not a dating service - there shouldn't be any need to know what I look like or what my likes and dislikes are. But if you do, I like to go for long walks on the beach in the early morning hours, when the mist lingers along the coastline, and the sun is rising - warming the air.

Tonight was a shining example as to why you should be online during 25
man progression nights...we had spots, and one could have been yours.

I Should of, I Would of, But I Could NOT of...

Silent_Lyle — Tue, 03/09/2010 - 14:33

I was transfered to another store for that day.  Left Silverdale, WA at 6:00 am which is still a commute from home (Port Orchard - the Village) and traveled up to Sequim which is an hour plus commute.  Punched off work up there about 5:00pm and let's say I could go only as fast as traffic would allow me returning home.

Anyways, I'll keep a mental note to be available for future raids.

Silent_Lyle — Thu, 02/25/2010 - 11:24

I'm looking at this week's work schedule and this weekend I'm working from 11am-8pm on the 27th. But when I jump online shortly after work and you're still progressing through and need a filling healer - I'll be in the /dfrecruit channel

I should have next weekend off and attending /raidevent/malt/2010/03/07

I do appreciate the invite though.

I like this guy for his brain. We need more.

Now, can you f'ing raid consistently?

Thank you for the positive

Silent_Lyle — Thu, 02/25/2010 - 11:04

Thank you for the positive remark.

Unfortunately at this moment I cannot provide you a definite answer of whether or not I can raid consistently.  Which is due to multiple factors such as time frame and day of the week.  Hypothetically let's say I'm to raid Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-10pm.  With that given info, I'll speak with my employer and work out a set schedule so that I have that time frame off every week.

If my employer asks why I need that time off?  I'll just tell them the truth... I'm a priest, and people may be injured or die if my presence is not shown.  They'll understand that I'm referring to WoW because half of the male staff at work plays WoW (different realms).

Actually this is a dating service so we will need to know what you look like. Some of the females and Shinzwei will be very interested in knowing.

Charming, right?

Silent_Lyle — Tue, 02/23/2010 - 01:34

I did know at the time of creating my toon, that Vicarious was a song of the band: Tool.  But please note: that my toon's name is Vicarius (without the O).  An additional mental note to retain is that: Vicarius is a Latin word, meaning substitute or deputy.

It is the root and origin of the English word "vicar" which translates: a representative, anyone acting "in the person of" or agent for a superior (compare "vicarious" in the sense of "at second hand").

How your post should read:

No colons necessary.  Colons should be used to introduce lists.

Usage

Silent_Lyle — Wed, 02/24/2010 - 23:22
  • syntactical-deductive: introduces the logical consequence, or effect, of a fact stated before
There was only one possible explanation: the train had never arrived.
  • syntactical-descriptive: introduces a description—in particular, makes explicit the elements of a set
I have three sisters: Catherine, Sarah, and Mary.
  • appositive: introduces a sentence with the role of apposition with respect to the previous one
Luruns could not speak: he was drunk.
  • segmental: introduces a direct speech, in combination with quotation marks and dashes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colon_(punctuation)

But I will make the effort to avoid using colons.  However ellipses is another subject which is ingrained into me. For those who don't know what an ellipsis, it's the dot dot dot ( ... ) I use it with frequency to indicate an unfinished thought.... Which I do have many and is why I carry around Post-Its with me almost everywhere.

Scaron — Fri, 02/26/2010 - 15:06

I think this may be an instance where both you and Shihli are correct. As a scientist, I imagine shi adopts a style choice which tends toward the conservative.

I tend to use colons more liberally: I use them when appropriate. However, I am farmiliar with no style convention that wouldn't frown on silent lyle's over use of colons in the noted post; I don't really care, mostly I was joking about the colon usage.

Where I think we should really crack down is in the over "use" of quotation marks.

cromi — Fri, 02/26/2010 - 15:39

In literature everything is always topsy turvy. One of my favorite Honors English teachers once told me that any rule in literature, can be broken, as long as it is done well. And it is true in almost every instance seen. But the same teacher called me an English prodigy/genius so I'm pretty sure he must have been off of his rocker.

Scaron — Wed, 02/24/2010 - 16:12

I like this app. Seems smart, etc. However, I feel as though with the above post you have officially used up your quota of colons...perhaps for the rest of your life. Got that? No more colons.

Understood, I'll make my best

Silent_Lyle — Wed, 02/24/2010 - 20:54

Understood, I'll make my best effort* not use colons on future posts.

effort* = results may vary due to circumstances beyond my control.

There are ways to get around these things; now you just have to be creative with both semi colons, and commas.
