Lets use this thread to post kill vids and strat info for Monday, so we can go in there all on the same page. Any parse info from tonight's attempts would be a good start as well.

Jamm: I know this is long. Please take the 5 minutes to read it.

If you haven't already done this, you need to go to this page and study the things that you personally took damage from and learn how to avoid them:

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/mHyGWQcXCND2VJb9#view=execution&bos...

It's where damage occurred from all Blackhand wipes.

Now some things here are more understandable than others. For example, I know that there was some confusion among melee as to when bombs were bing exploded and when they were not because of our transitioning between different strategies. Tonight, that should not be an issue. We should not see any slag bomb damage at all, because as I understand it, our strategy does not call for any slag bombs to do damage to players (and in P1 we won't even be making them explode).

There are some instances, also, of unavoidable damage. Demolition and Massive Demolition are not entirely avoidable. However, they can be mitigated. In some cases, they can be HIGHLY MITIGATED. Small swirlies do damage to everyone within 12 yards. We're going to take some damage from that, but the further you are away from them, the less damage you take. A full hit is 20k damage, looking at what I took on average per hit it was 8.3k per hit. We need to make this number as low as possible.

Massive demolition (big orange swirlies) cause damage to the entire raid; however, again, we mitigate damage by being farther away from these. IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO SIMPLY BE JUST OUTSIDE THE BIG ORANGE SWIRLY. You've got to keep running away from it.

Some damage is completely avoidable. In P1, no one should ever take damage from Molten Slag or Shattering Smash (with the exception of 1 tank), or impaled, impaling throw, or slag bomb. Nobody should show up as taking damage on the page I linked above. Zero.

I don't know if anyone uses

Scaron — Sun, 03/15/2015 - 15:19

I don't know if anyone uses Haste food, but I have a bunch of stacks of 125 food someone can have.

Any takers? We're talking

Scaron — Mon, 03/16/2015 - 08:54

Any takers? We're talking about like 6 or 7 stacks of 125 haste food for free here.

That guy's voice reminds me of Jesse Pinkman.

But as for your post. You are right all the way. Feasts don't need to be laid down. This is a great way to see who's slacking and know who actually wants to be there.

After our short time on

Atar — Fri, 03/13/2015 - 12:48

After our short time on Blackhand I have a couple of things that need to be said.

1. Focus/Following Directions - It still blows my mind as to how hard it is for people to follow simple instructions.  I said run as a group.  That means run as a damn group and not stop to get your cast off.  If EVERYONE can't follow these simple directions we don't stand a chance at any Mythic content.  Also, melee and bombs.  Bombs arm in three seconds.  That's an eternity to move.  There is no reason why a single bomb should ever go off.  This is where focus comes into play.  Everyone's got to pay attention to the things around them.  People with Mark have got to get behind the same debris.  These are all simple things that shouldn't even have to be discussed.  This does not need to be a problem come Monday.

2. Damage/Specs - I agree with Zevix 100% on his post.  Why wouldn't you play the BEST spec available for the encounter?  Because you don't like it?  That's bullshit and we all know it.  Parses don't lie.  If you want to be a good raider play the best spec and not be selfish.  Simple as that.  We can't half ass through content anymore.  Lets be honest for second.  Nothing we've killed so far has been hard besides Blast Furnace (which I don't think is that difficult if people actually push buttons correctly and focus).  Now we get to a fight where everything counts and we need to have the best possible specs for this fight or we are just going to have endless wipes, and be pissed for how ever many wipes it takes to kill it.  Mages need to be Arcane, hunters BM, warlocks Demo, Rogues Sub and so on.  Guys this shit is a no brainer and it needs to be fixed before Monday.  We can't have people in lack luster specs for Blackhand or any Mythic boss.  Take this weekend to practice.  There is plenty of time to read, get in LFR, and dps a target dummy.  Be a good raider and do the things the raid requires of you.  Get out of your comfort zone.  As for damage.  Our raid dps is low.  It's sad but honest.  A lot of raiders have gotten lazy and know they can just get by.  There isn't enough work, time, and practice put into some people's dps.  DPSing is what carries the raid.  The pace is on your shoulders whether we get one or two demolitions in P1 of Blackhand.  We need a DPS boost now!

3.Consumables - I shouldn't even have to talk about this and it's fucking stupid.  We were on a farm boss Wednesday and I asked someone to eat and their reply was, "I'll be fine".  The hell with that.  I don't slack.  If we're going to do something we might as well do it right.  That's how I am in WoW and same goes for RL.  Slacking won't get us anywhere.  We all know about the 125 buff food.  EVERYONE needs to have this.  It makes a difference.  Pot usage slack as well and needs to be fixed.  Everyone should be using two pots for every fight peroid.  For progression everyone needs to have runes.  Those stats add up really quick.  If everyone takes responsiblity and does these things it really boosts the raid.  Don't slack.  You're only hurting the raid and shit on the ones that do strive to succeed.

4. Having the right mind set - People give up way to easily or get pissed off and shut down way too fast.  That is not the way to raid.  We're getting into content now that will take multiple wipes.  I'm not talking 20 wipes.  I'm talking 50, 75, 100+ attemtps to kill a boss.  We can't have people shut down, give up, or just plain stop communicating because we wipe.   We need to work as a team more than ever.  Find a strat that works and go with it.  We can't afford to waste time.

5. Personal Responsibility - I could start this off talking about knowing fights before we get to it and reading forums, watching videos, but I'm not.  I preach to much on that anyways and I'm not wasting my breath on it now.  Lets talk about personal responsiblity during raid.  Our personal CD usage and health pot usage is terrible.  Here are healing tonics used for our Blast Furnace kill.  It's decent, but could be better.  It's things like these that can help for all of our kills.  As we get into Mythic personals will be required for many raid mechanics.  Following your own boss mods.  Don't expect every little thing to be called out.  Take it upon yourself to know when something is going to happen.  It's a part of raiding and it needs to get get fixed.

I know some feelings are going to get hurt from all of these things above, but it's the truth and we all know it's the truth.  I'm almost at my end with it.  A lot of the times I feel like i'm wasting my time making these posts.  I'm tired of being friendly Atar all the time.  There's too much shit that's easy to fix, but not enough people willing to fix it.  Take responsiblity as raiders and be the best you can be or find a different raid.  I can rebuild a raid again.  I've done it too many times this expac and I can do it again.

So after talking to Atar

Zevix — Fri, 03/13/2015 - 04:27

So after talking to Atar tonight, I was wondering why we have people not playing the best specs for fights. A perfect example is Blackhand. If we had everyone playing the best spec for a fight I think shit would be different. We could have 2 arcane mages, 2 BM hunters for example on top of our other dps we would have insane opening dps. As it stands now we were dropping Blackhand ~20% in about 20-25 secs. Phase two begins @ 70%, 20-25 secs is when demolition begins. If we had everyone playing the best spec for the fight our opening burst would be even higher. We could potentially skip the second demo and go straight to phase two. This is a shit load less damage and mana. Just look at my link, it does the talking for me.

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/rankings/7#difficulty=4&boss=1704

All you have to do is look at some of the top ranked parses from any fight on heroic or mythic and see what people are playing. If we also take time and then look through those logs we can see what talents they are using for each fight. So I guess I'm wondering why people would play anything less then the best spec for a fight when we have real data in front of us telling us it's better. Comfortable specs and talents that we "like" won't kill mythic bosses. This may sound harsh but it's he truth. If someone can spend 10 mins looking at forums and find problems in you play, then you aren't doing shit to min - max. Doing your research once at the start of a tier and never checking up on new information is laziness. Until we are all rank 1 in the world we could all stand to work on getting better. Lets face it we are number 10 on a backwoods realm with next to no competition, we need to get focused. We can't be complaining and getting discouraged after a handful of wipes. I feel like we give up way to easy, we need to find a strat outside of raid, so when we are in there it's balls to the wall tweaking the strat and fine tuning.

LOGS:
If we're going to take the time to log all of our raids, the least you could do is break down your own play. I mean at a quick glance we still have people not second potting or health potting and dying. We also are piss poor at using our personal cd's. These are some simple ways we can improve right away. We should all be looking at our own play and trying to find ways to improve. If your damage is low troll forums, ask around, GO THROUGH LOGS or ask players better then you. One major factor that separates great guilds from casuals is knowledge, knowledge of you class knowing the ins and outs and understanding mechanics on every fight, BEFORE going in. It doesn't get any easier then what we are doing now, we can't just out gear mythics.

Side note: If we are talking strats before a pull, LISTEN to what we are doing we waste more pulls on someone doing or targeting the wrong shit because they can't focus for more then 2 mins, FOCUS. We need to all remain on the same page. Some of these bosses are going to take a lot of pulls, buck up boys.
