50/50 Raffle!

Seeing as how Downfall loves contests, and also noting how close I am to my epic flyer(1kg), I thought I would give a 50/50 contest a shot here on the website, and see how many people are willing to participate!
Rules
- You may deposit any amount of gold you choose, into the pot by mailing the money to Feudara. Only those who deposit at least 20g will be eligible for the Grand Prize.
- For every denomination of 20g you deposit, your name will enter the raffle an additional time, increasing your chances of winning.
- The deadline to deposit gold will be Tuesday night(12 Feb 2008) before Hamfist raids.
- Out of everyone that deposited 20g or more, one person will randomly be selected to receive the Grand Prize: 50% of all the gold that was deposited.
- The other 50% of the overall gold deposited goes to the Guild Bank for raid repairs etc..
So for the price of just a couple of your daily quests, you can help benefit the Guild Bank, and have a shot at taking home the Grand Prize! Good luck everyone!
(Please try and make your Deposits in one lump sum, or in denominations of 20g for easy tracking!)

Dikymo — Sat, 02/09/2008 - 14:29You should be alot more clear about how the winner of this is going to be selected. randomly selected wont go very far when one of your friends takes the pot and the rest of the guild gets all butt hurt claiming that you and your friend screwed over the guild by starting this raffle, getting a mount out of it and splitting the profit. Im not saying that this is your intention but you are leaving yourself wide open to alot of bad feelings. Any contest held in the guilds name for your own personal gain sounds like a bad idea to me.

Derchlon — Sun, 02/10/2008 - 16:54Fair enough. To clarify a bit, I'll take each entry and assign it a number of 1-X, with X being the total amount of entries. Then I will do an ingame die roll (I'll even invite you to group if you're that paranoid), and the winner will be obvious to everyone.
On the topic of personal gain, I never claimed that it was sponsored by the Guild. It was sponsored by me, with benefits going to the guild. Either way, it is no longer important, as I have earned my Epic Flyer by myself now anyway. Now the division is 50% to the winner, 50% to the guild bank. That sound more fair to everyone?

Ewiges — Sun, 02/10/2008 - 13:24I have to agree with Dikymo here. A lot of bad stuff can come out of this, if you do decide to go on with it you might want to post a lot more information. I would say an idea to get an epic mount would be to offer more of a fundraiser type event, but with the ease of getting gold in this game why bother?
