Juff, we may need you in a raid this friday, May 2nd.
Myself and Katibug will be gone and our Raid: Hamfist will be doing Hyjal, including an Archimonde kill. If you would like to run that evening please reply here be completely ready for all bosses with food, flasks, imbues, etc. I consider Archimonde the hardest boss we've faced so far, but your PvP experience might lend itsself well here.
Also, please have our raid addon pack installed and have PallyPower up and running.
Ah, Juffbox one of my old Paladin buddies I remember you from the old Ret pally days. We had great times together man, but I forget if you were in either TKO or Unrivaled Dominion with me.
Check the calender as well so you know our raid schedules. Be online and ready to rock...a pst to someone that your in the wings waiting is always good.
I gotta say, he's handling the questions much better than most so far :) Keep it up! And, he's actually following up on his app in a timely manner.
Juff, tonight is the night when BOTH our 25-man raids run simultaneously. Ataraxia leads one raid called Raid: LF1M and I lead the other, called Raid: Hamfist. Atar will be taking his guys to a fresh Hyjal and I'm going to be dragging my group back into BT for Bloodboil and beyond. That means there is the potential of raid spots open between both raids for healers.
We've had apps that are still active waiting far longer then 3 weeks to get into our raid. Granted, your odds are higher as a healer, but tbh we are overflowing with Paladins. So let's say you get in every now and then, but not necessarily a permanent raid spot for 3 months. Then what?
1) You're applying to a community more than you are applying to a raid. Even though <Downfall> runs and operates a number of raids, we are a community and group of friends first and foremost. If you intend to bail on the guild when WotLK comes out for a more flavor-of-the-month guild, then I highly recommend you start looking for that guild now - because frankly, we don't want that kind of attitude here.
2) There are spelling mistakes in your post, but you apparently don't see them :P
1. I am not looking for a flavour of the month guild, as I am not looking to be doing sunwell. I am looking for a guild that is certainly capable of progressing through content, but offers more than just raids. One of the reasons why I dislike my current guild is when I hit O, and only see 2 names highlighted. Sorry if I came across to you that way.
1. I would be willing to wait 3wks if the reason is good, but not any longer. (Was told by Disrupter that DF needed holy paladins >.> ) My hopes are not to be necessarily a core raider, but one who can attend a fair number of raids past (more than half) after the waiting period
2. I only listed until WotLK because from previous experience a lot of new things seen and unforeseen associated with the expansion tend to change player attitudes, like arena for BC. If nothing like this sort occurs, I would continue to raid with Downfal.
As one of our Paladin class leaders and a raid officer you can expect a good grilling from me..and our guild leader who is the greatest paladin that has ever walked the planet. Hope your ready
1. Please clarify this for me. I read it that if you don't get into raid fairly quickly that you will move on. We have a bazillion Paladins...so there's going to be lots and lots of waiting.
Would it be a problem if you had to wait 3 weeks or 3 months to get into raid?:
While I'm not expecting to be integrated into raids immediately, I am not willing to to wait long durations to get in as well.
2. Please elaborate on this one:
How long do you intend to stay in Downfall?:
at least until WotLK
3. Last for now...but the MOST important thing:
PvE healing without Grid is sadism. Get Grid, get comfortable with it. If you want to heal in DF, this is your bible.
Juffbox, you might want to download the addon pack before you get invited - we're known for taking apps into endgame instancing as a test drive of sorts. The sooner you're familiar with Grid and such, the better off you'll be if/when that time comes.
I uploaded a screenshot of my UI, while it may look bare, many of my current mods are geared towards arena game play, and only appear when applicable in a match (Afflicted, Magic Track, Proximo, Mana Burn Alert, Spell Alert). I have also heavily modified Xperl to appear much like Blizz interface.
If I come off as an elitist I apologize, there is just so much I have seen in my time playing that has been disappointing.
Since Garreth didn't ask yet, what are your thoughts/opinions about the mod Grid? I know Garreth is getting sick of teaching new peeps how to use it.
Other than that, definite app to keep up on. Your comments and some forms of your app lean to a slight Elitist attitude. Not saying you are, not holding it against you. Just noting it for the record.
Definitely an App I am gonna keep up on.
Just a warning, we do already have a LOT of paladins in DF. I think that our Hamfist raids with up to 3 holy paladins, and our LF1m raid has anywhere from 5-7 or so paladins in a raid on any given night. Just thought I would give you a heads up :D
I've known Juffbox (thought vaguely) for quite a long time. He is also one of Gorgonnashes day one created characters. (For you slow people that means he created his character on Nov something 200andshomething whenever the fucking game came out). Though he was a few weeks behind me in leveling my best friend in IRL leveled with him. I am not sure his skills in PvE. I have not raided with Juffbox since people first started doing MC. (Yes, there was PvE before Rag was ever killed). He knew how to play back then and I am sure he still knows how to play. My IRL buddy (Holysilver, I also play his account) always says good things about Juff. If my opinion matters at all, it is a thumbs up! (You guys all know I am an asshole so when I give a thumbsup it should matter)

Thanks for re-uploading your screenie :) We won't hold the Blood Faith app against ya, lol.
I believe you were 60 before I was even level 20 on Gorg, so I absolutely recognize that you've been around for a long time.
At least experiment with Grid and get a good feel for it. Start here: www.wowace.com/wiki/Grid. Every last one of our healers use it (along with Grid_RaidDebuffs) and it allows us all to really speak the same language when it comes to healing as a unit.
Qualified in terms of having consumables, understanding class roles, performing at an adequate level ( at least pulling his/her own weight), and not undergeared to the point that skill can't compensate.
I have seen all such things in previous guilds I have been in.

I did app to Blood Faith, but before I had thoroughly looked through what Downfall had to offer.
In all honesty based on the amount of activity I have seen in Downfall, I am more satisfied with what I have seen here, and regret not checking here first. Secondly, I know a couple of people in Blood Faith from previous experiences, so it seemed like a natural place to app to.
