Chronicles of Tuque - Path of Holy

So I spec'd Holy. Full out holy down to, um, well as much of that Int -> Healing talent I can get atm. Here's some rambling thoughts of my experience so far.
Killing is definitely slower. Though, I kinda find there's less downtime. Don't have to sit and drink as much. Also taking on mobs many levels above me seems a bit more dangerous.
I also went through a ZF run. Hmm at this level I gotta say healing is boring. lol People aren't taking damage fast enough and I can heal 1/2 - 1/3 of their health in one go when needed. I found myself alt-tabbing a lot during this run. lol
So with this spec I got this new toy Divine Favor. Not sure when to use it though. I tried a few times with my group but letting them go to low makes em nervous. They always pop their own heal before I get my big fat crit on em wasting it. lol
Oh well level 47 atm!

At your lvl it's all about
Aidin — Mon, 04/28/2008 - 16:10At your lvl it's all about the Int. More mana + Crit %. (except the obvious +heal)
I don't think you'll see mp5 gear for quite a while.
IMO keep all the plate melee
Dragon — Mon, 04/28/2008 - 13:21IMO keep all the plate melee dps gear you get. Get your icebarb spear as soon as you can for AV (Lvl 51) and try out ret :D
~Legendary Nobody
No one gives a damn about
Aidin — Mon, 04/28/2008 - 12:49No one gives a damn about overheal anymore as long as u don't run out of mana. If you're useless for the duration of a fight..then well yea you should look at your OH. We all sit about 30-50% regularly.
Healing is kinda boring in the early stages, cause they make the instances woosie. You'll notice a bigger need for your attn when you get to bosses that require a bit of "dancing". Concecrate ...heal... HoJ... heal... pretend to loldps...heal....the life of a holy pally. (hit 3kdps on trash in Hyjal last week...HOT SEX! lol)
Nice to see you trying out all the trees of the Paladin talents! What's your favorite so far?
Hehe, haven't tried ret at
saedo — Mon, 04/28/2008 - 13:13Hehe, haven't tried ret at all yet. lol Well for prot, it was all right. But at low levels, just seem to be a bunch of button spamming with watching mobs and going oom a lot. The aoe tanking is a nice fun gimmick though.
Healing seems easier at the low levels at least. As long as the group doesn't start chain pulling a crap load of mobs, and none of em start beating on me either. Throw a few heals here and there then alt tab. lol
Heh while I'm here, been reading up and thinking of how to gear for this. I'm thinking int stacking. Gives me some healing, larger mana pool, so I don't go oom fast. Don't need much bigger heals yet. They got small health pools so can easily keep em up. Think the biggest so far at this level I've seen is like 4K and I can heal em for 1+K (2+ K crits) per cast. Also, must wear plate, mobs beat on me sometimes. lol
Well wasn't counting on it
saedo — Sun, 04/27/2008 - 12:14Well wasn't counting on it to save someone. I got Dr. Damage running so when I pop divine favor it tells me about how much it'll land for. Like saying 1.7K heal atm. So I start playing the "how low can you go" game. lol Heh or at least let em take 1.7K damage first. But they get nervous, pop the pot or something and I wind up overhealing for 1200 or something. lol
I did like another ZF and Maraudon after this. At first I was just using highest rank HL, waiting for ppl to take suffient damage then heal. Damage usually comes in slowly so I'd only get to heal every 1 or 2 pulls. lol So I started to just downrank and heal others to keep myself occupied. Though should I care about overhealing? Maybe just spam the highest rank regardless?
Just macro divine favor to
garreth — Sun, 04/27/2008 - 11:52Just macro divine favor to all your heals (including holy shock). Treat it as a "over the long run" spell. NEVER count on it to save someone. Let it fly when it's up and over the long run it will benefit you.
