Well I signed up for every thing that I could it wasnt that I didnt want to do it before it was just I didnt realize how you guys did it. I did run H MgT with Chrislow this afternoon so I would ask him how I did. Ill be on for awhile tonight so whisper me If you want me to run somehting with you.
(Oh yeah and I'm not a doushbag if anyone is wondering)
Sorry so many comments to keep up with. I applied tothis guild first and for most because Im was told that you all are a good bunch of people. I wont have even wasted my time had I not thought that was true. When I say I want to raid that implies to me that I want to have a great raiding experiance. I couldn't do that if I didnt enjoy the company I was with. Feel free to write me back man Im a really down to earth guy.
Ran a heroic MGT with him earlier. He's a likeable guy and he didn't whine when we took a wipe on a couple bosses. Didn't keep track of damage though....
But he does look FUNNY in chicken form! Haha! Wooo..
First, Rawr estimates his gear at 1400-1500 dps for 3-6 minute fights. Not sure how accurate their boomkin module is, but it's something to shoot for. Second, you should know that although pretty much everyone on the forums has 5/5 "Mean Sounding Comments," it's generally not meant to be mean at all.
Nice spec and gear. 1500 dps, on paper, seems possible. Imp FF would be crucial on melee intensive fights. It'd be nice to see 1650 dps on a tank and spank.
Let me know what I can sign up for and Im game this weekend was alittle rough I jsut had my second child. I'll check back after I make dinner thanks for the feedback guys.
Sign up for anything you will be able to attend here: /event You'll actually see a "Sign up for this event" link that you'll need to click to sign up for the event. I recommend that you start with the 5 and 10 man runs during the week and sign up for all 25 raids on the weekend. Our weekday 25-man raids are pretty locked down, but the weekend "fun runs" always need people.
I have to give props for well gemmed/chanted gear. 1285 spell damage is significant and shows that you're not screwing around with this.
Being moonkin in a raid is a huge hill to climb to prove yourself. Of course, there's very few raid spots open as it is in Downfall, even among our two full 25-man raids. But, when there are spots open, we have to ask ourselves if the lack of personal dps is more than made up for by the raid buffs brought by the individual moonchicken.
A highly geared ret pally almost always has a spot in either raid. 1300 ish personal dps coupled with 2% group damage, 3% raid crit, Judgement of Light, Judgement of Wisdom and Improved Might in the raid are incredible offsets to the lack of personal damage.
If you can sustain 1500 dps on an eight minute fight while bringing 5% group crit and Imp Faerie Fire, then that's a viable raid spot to me as long as you're not a douchehat, or selfish, or whiney or inflexible. However, if you're having a hard time breaking 1k dps then there are issues here.
The ONLY way you stand a chance of getting in is by getting involved in our 5, 10 and 25 man runs and getting your name out there. We do not invite blind. I see no point in ginviting someone who isn't on and playing actively and regularly. You must run 5s and 10s with our guildies so A) I know that you can actually contribute to the guild and B) so we can get a feel for if you're a douchebag or not. There is nothing I hate more than a new guildy who won't help out if he/she's not in a raid.
First I would like to say hi and thanks for your input. I understand your logic but there are alot of BAd boomkins out there that lack that personel DPS but im not one of them. I know the moonkin spec inside and out. I leveled from 10-70 as a boomkin not knowing that its not the preffered way to level, but it has allowed me to understand it completely. I do spend a great deal of time researching not just playing this character but I understand the stigma that my spec has so if you would not like me I will look else where. From what I can tell you guys are a pretty good bunch of people so I would like to enjoy the game play with this guild. I like to raid but I really dont expect to be thrown right in but I would like progress and experiance new content. Take care.
The damage that trents do is minimal. With sublety I can start DPS before most other classes which in turn add to my damage totals. Plus they just dont fit into a spell rotation. The time u lose due to casting causes a neg dps factor as far as I have seen. Not to mention when Im in T6 and stack a far amount of haste I can include an addition spell each casting rotation. Thats a bit off in the future but I have had weeks of experimenting and this seems to work best for most situations.
"
Q: Is Force of Nature better than an additional point of threat reduction?
A: If you're getting Blessing of Salvation, if your raid is comfortable
with allowing you to cast them, and if you remember to cast them, yes,
it's better than an addt'l point in Subtlety."
As far as I know, the damage those treants puts out scales with your spell damage and they can add a fair bit to your dps.
If that is your sole reason for applying, you may want to look elsewhere. We invite people based on how they'd fit into the guild's personality quirks and whether or not they'd get along with how we operate. In short, we invite people FIRST and FOREMOST because of their desire to actually be a part of the guild.
If all you want is to be a part of a raid, there's plenty of other guilds out there that will take you.
DUDE you gotta get in on these runs if you actually want a fighting chance at being invited to guild. You can't just apply and just sit around and wait for an answer. If you put in the time and effort and show us why you should be in guild you might actually get invited. Right now my vote is a big fat no to inviting.
Was asking him to sign up for this weeks, he didn't sign up for this past one.
