I wasn't there last night,
Tankard — Thu, 07/10/2008 - 11:12I wasn't there last night, but the time before that I was threat bound in the damage I could do. I pulled agro and died on one attempt and had to stop casting on several others.
Warlocks can drop an infernal pet while keeping thier sacrifice buff which adds about 200 dps, but it's on an hour cooldown. I think we need to do it as a concerted effort though, so whoever is leading the raid should tell us when to pop it. I'm pretty sure that with an infernal and no agro issues that our locks can sustain 2300 dps.
A few things I did (and
Shihli — Thu, 07/10/2008 - 10:46A few things I did (and didn't do) that would increase my dps:
1) My pet was bugging out on about 1/2 of the attempts, and would not actually attack Brut. That's ~120-200 dps right there.
2) I was using AotV instead of AotH. Once we get the healing down and start bumping up on enrage timers I'll definitely make the swap, as it'll be approx. 20-40dps increase.
3) I'm rarely in a group stacked for me. I had a BM hunter and a feral at best - not bad, but if I had an agi totem my dps would increase by around 30-50dps by my best guess.
4) Judgement of Wisdom is HUGE for me - hope we can keep it up 'cos it'll pretty much guarantee I won't run out of mana.

Netti — Thu, 07/10/2008 - 10:41Well..I'd go back to the way I started and chug my flame caps use trinkets and veins..my only porblem is in some of the early attempts I got squished due to aggro issues and tried to do things a bit differently. As Saedo said, fire mages dps increases by 20% against mobs whose health is below 20% (results in about 4% overall dps increase)..so that will help when we get that far. Like everyone else...just trying to figure out best way to go about killing the Brut.

DPS needs to be higher across the board from the melee. Heals still need to be stronger on the tanks. BUT, overall, a HUGE improvement. 50% at about 7% behind enrage ain't bad. We're getting there. He's suddenly less scary.
Study up and let's see what we can do to stomp him next week.

22571 Raid DPS. So about 5K short the mark.
Everyone needs to do, um... 347 more dps. Which is probably impossible for some, well those that did hit their peaks. So have to look more at the bottom ranking ones and need em to push 400 more dps if possible.

Shin and Wiges can easily do at least 200 more dps each. That's some elixir of demonslaying and a haste pot rotation once we're consistently getting him to enrage.
I've seen Lumi at higher dps before and I know for a fact that Shihli can do high 1500s in dps.
Sorahn and Netti have me worried here. I don't think they had a totem on this attempt, so I'll cut you guys some slack. But a 400dps disparity between you two and Rupter is kind of huge. I know that Rupter was balls to the wall flame caps and consumables, but I'd really like to see higher numbers from both of you guys.
Keisjaa, I know we didn't give you a totem on these last attempts, but are you close to 1500 dps with it?
Mnor and Hbk: I'm trying to figure out what's up here. Mnor, I know we didn't stack you very well at all. I think you only had a BM hunter, and no battle shout/unleashed rage :( 1188 dps just seems brutally low, what can we do to boost that? Also, Hbk, I've seen you at well over 1600 dps on other fights. 1k here is much less than I know you can do.
Anyway, take this all with a grain of salt as it's a learning fight, some dps was not yet burning full consumables. I can say that it looks like our healing rotations on the tanks are MUCH more solid and the next time we visit Brut it will be to down him.

Fire mages pick up more dps towards the end of the fight. Though I really dunno if it's 400 dps more worth of it.
Without a DPS warrior, I'd like to suggest for the times Orky isn't tanking, rotate him in the other groups and have him Battle Shout. Probably just G5 and G2.
For Hbk, Brutallus is demon, so isn't Exorism and stuff used for bosses like this? Wasn't used at all last night.
Might want to consider a GoA group for the hunters (or just Shihli) and Mnor. Maybe if possible throw Orky in that group too. More Agi for Shihi for more AP for the raid for higher threat caps as well.
