Drop Herb imo and take up tailoring.  You will get a ton of extra dmg w/ the set depending on what spec ur gonna stay.  My advice, keep alchemy for the awesome trinket and ditch herbalism.  it's easy to relevel if you want to on another toon or ask in guild and generally ppl will help ya out.

Most of us have a ton of alts and would be willing to lend a hand in the making of the spellcloth/shadowcloth you'll need.  Just ask.  :)

So far you're doing some awesome improvements.  Tailoring will prolly give you the biggest upgrades.  Once you make the trinket for alchemy, you could even ditch that and take up enchanting.  Long and hard process, but you're a mage and it'll be easy to farm the greens you need.  :)

I was Alc/ Herbs once and I fought to hold onto my professions... the combination makes and saves so much money for a mage... but the craftable gear is really really good.

Looking back I still think it was a really good choice to switch to tailoring.

I strongly recommend dropping Alchemy and leveling tailoring. At 70 tailoring is really easy to level and should take less than a week. I think craftables will get you further faster.

Alchemy is good to drop because you can still fund your raiding with herbs and if you get in the guild then there is usually a few alchemists online more than willing to make pots... like me.  

With the following I leveled to 375 in about 4 days:

Good areas for cloth:
Linen = Deadmines
Wool = Stockades
Silk = Scarlet Mon.
MageWeave = ZF
Rune Cloth = Western Plaguelands (farms with a lot of undead)
Neatherweave = the BEs on Black Temple have a decent drop rate... others may know better spots but I have a ton just sitting around I wouldn't mind donating.

heheh anyway, talked with him for a while in vent Saturday night.  Definitely needs gear, but seems to show a willingness to be proactive about it.

Yes I am going to be completely happy with running Kara/Gruul/Mag for long while I get gearing up.  End game to me is ANY of the content I have not seen before, which is pretty much all of it.  I wasn't expecting to get into the 25man (Minus maybe Gruul and Mag) for a LONG time, I was hoping I would see some Tier 5 stuff before WoTLK comes out, but again I am fine if I don't.

You have much, much, much time left in heroics and Kara, Triebryn.  You're at 379 spell damage as a frost mage which is literally 1/4 of the amount you'd need for where our current two 25-man raids are focused.

You're alch/herb which means the crafted stuff isn't an option.  This means T4 gear and Badge gear for every single slot.  There's a lot of work left here, man.  At this point, we couldn't even take you to our SSC/TK "fun runs" on the weekend unless you're at at least 7.5k health and 900 spell damage.  

In short, there's no easy way up to the 25's here.  You'll have to put in some serious time in Heroics/Kara/ZA before you're viable for any raid.   When we were first stepping foot into SSC and TK, most of our casters had full crafted epics, with the remaining slots being Karazhan-best.

Edit: Just noticed that you're wearing your dailies goggles so your spell damage might be higher.  However, unless you have a +400 spell damage headpiece, you've still got a lot of work left!

Thanks Everyone.  As for raids I would like to go and see some of the end game content, but I am completely fine just joining to hang out and doing some heroics/Kara.

We're not really recruiting for raids anymore.  Is that fine with you?

I've done a heroic and a kara with him, did a good job on both. Cool guy to boot.
