mav — Sat, 06/14/2008 - 18:13
So i've been troubleshooting all my computer problems and they all have the same thing in problem, bad RAM. So I was wondering how I would go about solving this issue. If anyone has any advice I would REALLY appreciate it.

Can also download CPU-z I
Agoney — Sun, 06/15/2008 - 14:15Can also download CPU-z I believe, should give you a whole bunch of info. Download memtest-86 iso from somewhere, and burn the image to CD. Pop that in and boot your PC with it. Can also download Prime95, run the stress test. If you blue screen/error to that, you definetly have mem problems.
I'll do that! Thanks :D

Katibug — Sun, 06/15/2008 - 12:38A trick I use at work is to go to http://www.crucial.com and run the system diagnostics check. This tells you exactly what kind of RAM you have and some suggestions for new RAM. You can use those specs to find Corsair RAM somewhere else or just go with crucial.

I used to swear by ASUS.
Freakshow (not verified) — Sun, 06/15/2008 - 08:18I used to swear by ASUS. Unfortunately, they are notorious for being picky about RAM. The P5K-E board I had gave me fits on and off for about 2 months before I tracked it down. Individually, everything checked out, but after doing some research, found out ASUS requires specific voltages for their RAM, and on top of that, seem to prefer certain manufacturers.
I eventually swapped out my ASUS in favor of a Gigabyte board. No RAM issues fr the past 2 months.
If you have a Dell, your ram
carno — Sat, 06/14/2008 - 19:32If you have a Dell, your ram will fail using standard tests. Most dell machines can only be memtested using their utility.
In the event you happen to

Download Mem test and
Gingerbeer (not verified) — Sat, 06/14/2008 - 19:19Download Mem test and install it onto a bootable Floppy, run that shit and see what comes up, but if it is bad memory you will just have to end up buying some new sticks. not really expensive though
