The Gruuls run was aborted
Noidling — Thu, 10/30/2008 - 05:25The Gruuls run was aborted quickly thank god cuz that would have gotten expensive quickly, but still was cool to see the inside of that place. That first boss battle looks like it would take a great deal of organization, with everyone on their A game... or at least B game... and not the G game a few of the people there were putting forth. I definately would like to try that one again. Deleyna (on Crixiana) and I then got into a pug Kara that also did not go particularly smoothly, but we did get most of the way through before the server shut down, and it was a very lucrative run for me again. 2 more upgrades. It was a good learning experience for me to be healing with Crix for awhile, and seeing how the two of our classes, and players, healing styles meshed. Now that I have finally gotten into 25-man content I can update those questions; My fav 25 man boss is High King in Gruuls, because it looks like it would b a great fight to learn 25-man tactics and teamwork, and my least fav 25-man boss is High King, because I haven't seen what his guts look like, and he has seen mine several times.

He kept his target up & alive & was one the last to die on both wipes LOL he often wasn't dead until all rest of us were. And to think it was his first time in there..
anyway i def want to get in group with him again when we can get a successful run in to see how well he does.. im sure he'd do great

I definately will be down to hit that again, work permitting of course. I will have to update my app with Prince as my least favorite boss, because any boss where dumb freaking luck rather than lack of skill wipes you is retarded in my book. As soon as I get my work schedule I will post on Kara1.

Torvo — Sun, 10/12/2008 - 13:00We finally got Noid into a Kara!!1 yesterday and he was our good luck charm :) His first raid finished in under 4 hours... Coincidence? He showed good skills with his H Priest, keeping up shackles and debuffs while throwing up some timely heals. In my book if you can run through Kara at 1200 heals and (1) not go OOM and (2) keep everybody up through all fights, it speaks volumes to your talent with your craft. That he came in knowing every single strat (from reading up and doing his homework the day before) is 100% Noid... He doesn't come to anything unprepared. He was also extremely receptive to instruction/feedback for the rare occasions either needed to be given.
Hope you can keep getting Saturdays off to raid with us!

Noidling — Fri, 08/01/2008 - 00:44Sorry that I have been incommunicado for the last couple of weeks, but I have been locked down on Ft. Lewis for WLC. I am back, I will be playing quite a bit in the next couple of weeks, and I will be looking out for Downfall alts for instance smashing. I've made it to 62 and will likely be 63 by the end of business tomorrow. If anyone wants to run through the first couple of BC instances I will be on from 3ish to 11ish Pacific. I have been through Ramps and Blood Furnace so far, and am looking forward to Underbog.

I would recommend hitting up a few Holy-Priest books/sites if that is your Raid-Goal and finding out what gear you need for 5mans vs Raiding. See what you can pickup from questing and see what you can pickup from crafting/etc. I don't know how similar priests are, but I know a few of the Raid-Ready gear items I noticed on my protadin are able to be picked up as early as level 63-66 from quests. Yet, the Heroic 5man gear nearly ONLY comes from regular 5mans.
I do believe healers are quickly becoming an issue, but I wouldn't expect to immediately start Raiding when you hit 70. I'm also speaking from my own personal views. My SP is now 65, and my main (protadin) is now 43. I'm trying to simply level and be as much as an asset as I can, but I'm not holding my breath for a Raid-spot.
If your serious about joining the community, I would start making friends with Downfall members/alts as you can around your level. You'll catch up to Fjork in no-time at this rate, and I still want a few dozen UB runs for Primal Life's. Look me up if you see me online. I'm usually good for an instance run, even if it is Ramps.

I will be heading to a Capoeira Batizado in Philadelphia in a couple of weeks to test for my first cordao, and to get my ass kicked over and over. I will have the last laugh though, because I will steal all of their moves. Muwahaha!
