I dont believe that this small misunderstanding should affect my entire application. I am still a skilled raider and am excellent at playing my class. Just because I had expressed a small amount of interest in joining your raid, and forgot to reply and tell you I wouldn't be able to join, does not mean that I have particularly bad form (altho there was a lapse in my raiding etiquette there), and I do no think that my application should be closed. I still have every intention of doing my best to be accepted in your guild, and a small issue like this should not completely spoil any hope of that.
I need nothing else. I just wanted to make it clear that I didn't mean to cause any inconvenience. I really did mean to get back to you and let you know I joined a different group but I completely forgot. My apologies once again.
Dikymo is blunt but he does bring up a good point which agrees with all I was trying to say in the first place.
If you say that you want to join in a raid, you'd better be prepared to actually, y'know, WAIT for said raid. It's poor form to say you want to join in the raid then go and join another one instead.
See, this is the exact reason why I communicate in a "blunt" manner. Re-read my first post:
A note:
Aelf asked me yesterday if there was any room for dps in my Karazhan
raid. I had not yet started the raid, so I told him that I wasn't sure
and I'd get back to him. When I did start invites, about 10 minutes
into them in fact, I had a need for 1 more dps'er.
When I asked Aelf if he would come, I noticed he was already in Karazhan with his guild, <Mutiny>.
Don't ask to be invited to raids if you're not willing to wait for word on if you can come.
Did I say anything about Aelf "being a bad person because he raided with friends"? No. Did I say anything about "this is a huge injustice"? No.
All I said was that it's bad form to join another raid after asking to join another one in the first place. If I had intended for more to be read into that statement, then I would have said more.
You asked if there was space for another dps in the run (indicative of desire to come on the run).
I told you, and I paraphrase, "invites haven't started, I'll let you know when we start."
I give "blunt" answers because a short, direct answer is a better one. I did not say "We're full on dps", rather, I told you simply that I would let you know when invites have started.
You asked to be considered for an invite. I told you I'd consider you. What more do you need?
To be fair, I never said I wanted to join your raid.
As I've said in game, I apologize deeply for any inconveniences I've caused to the people in your raid. Due to the blunt answers I recieved in regards to the space in your raid, I did not believe that you would need me as urgently or at all for your run. I instead decided to help out my guild who were struggling to down the final boss of karazhan.
Aelf asked me yesterday if there was any room for dps in my Karazhan raid. I had not yet started the raid, so I told him that I wasn't sure and I'd get back to him. When I did start invites, about 10 minutes into them in fact, I had a need for 1 more dps'er.

If you ever need a dps for Kz I'll gladly bring my hunter. Yea that's my bad I told him that he should see if you needed him in Kz, when you said that you didn't know what you needed, he instead joined the other Kz to help them with prince because they'd had a dps drop and were having significant tribulations.

Pst me in-game any time, I'd love to hear what you have to say.
Of course, since balance druids are not exactly the best utility

table. At the moment, I'll point out, my spec is not build soley for
raiding. As I am not raiding very much as of now, I have a few talents
that help me out while doing dailies, soloing and pvping. When I get a
chance to raid regularly, I change my spec to one very similar to
Disrupta's in order to get more utility and raid viability.
After our recent successes with hybrids in Hamfist, I'm much more open to them. However, their lack of personal dps needs to be offset by crazy mob-debuffs and raid-buffs.
In other words, if you get to luxury to raid as a dps hybrid, you gotta bring a LOT more than just personal dps.

Disrupta as balance is at the point he brings somewhere around 2k dps with his average group to the raid as a whole, without imp FF.
I'll be armorying you shortly but I'm gonna have to say, the only way to get imp ff and subtlety is to reduce your mana talents, dreamstate is the weakest of the 3 mana talents and will be the first to go. I'll see if I can hook up with you later and chit chat a bit to see what you think.
I'm no professional 'kin but I really wouldn't mind seeing one in Lf1m, it's such an awesome buff.
Note: MELEE/HUNTERS , just incase bring hit food and maybe one piece of hit gear to offset the loss of hit incase the moonkin can't show. There are fights where the debuffs just can't be up full time, and making full use of the imp FF is impossiible. I always reapply it before I port on kalec, from top to bottom and vice versa, but I can't keep it up full time. Atleast you'll get the armor penetration from it.
Anyways, short and sweet: Get Imp FF. It's such a huge buff used properly, They're not going to get mad at you for doing 1300 dps when your keeping up imp FF and your aura. As long as it's what your gear can take you too with that rotation.
What is the difference between hit and crit/AP for everyone?
In my case in a Brut scenario, I lose 4.52 dps going dropping 20 hit for 20 agi. I lose 7.57 dps if I drop 20 hit for 40 AP.
Brut scenario being tank and spank maximizing my white damage outputs for hit to do all it's magic. Under conditions of requiring more burst, more running around, more interruptions to the constant stream of white attacks, the diff between hit and agi drops, and could reverse positions.
So depending on level of mobs I face, number of times I would face interruptions I would drop the hit in favor of agi myself.
Fair enough, I suppose it does allow the melee specs to re-socket or change gear to allow for less hit chance and more damage. If it will significantly increase the melee classes dps output then I will be glad to lose some of my own mana regen in order to benefit the raid as a whole.
We've brought a consistent Boomchicken to the Hamfist raid so that our raiders can re-gem/re-itemize to haste and crit instead of hit. Our locks that inevitably get stuffed into the chicken group can regem to haste instead of pure crit.
Chickens are the full package, baby.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Yes; analogies, it turns out, can sometimes be used to draw parallels between things that are not exactly the same." - Ratgirl
Although your ret pally/MS warrior/and hunters might be hit capped, imp faerie fire while not increasing your own dps increases overall raid dps by allowing those players to regem/re-equip items they otherwise can't wear due to hit. On top of that Fury Warriors/Enhancement Shaman/Rogues are rarely if ever hit capped for their white damage so it yields a fair dps increase for them.
Sorry, I'm melee can ya tell ;)
A good person to look up on armory if you want to see one idea of the raiding Battlechicken spec is our friendly Neighborhood Disrupta who now comes in the original recipe and extra crispy flavors :D

I consider myself a casual player, therefor I have not chosen to apply to Downfall for the advanced, new-content raids such as Hamfist. I am more content to experience the less-advanced content and just improve my raiding experience and have fun. I have also heard a lot about the extremely nice and helpful players that make up the Downfall Community and that has been another main reason for my app. I have been in my share of guilds and know first-hand how important it is for everyone to get along in the guild.
"...being ignored in guild chat." is really just another way of saying lack of active members. Going for weeks at a time of logging on at 12-8 and not seeing a hint of life, being the only person logged at primetime, etc.
At the moment, my spec does include Insect Swarm (no improved versions of it at the moment), but not Imp Faerie Fire. My spec has 3 points in intensity to increase my mana generated by 30% as well as 1 in Subtlety which allows me to dps at a much higher rate and not worry as much about my mana levels or threat. In raids where most of the rogues, dps warriors, hunters etc. are hit capped, it is not necessary to have the extra 3% hit bonus. I know as well as many other spell casters how much of a dps decrease it can be having to hold off on my damage on especially long boss fights, therefor I've chosen my spec the way it is.
If it is asked of me, I will, of course respec to include Improved Faerie Fire, among other talents, if it is necessary for the raid.
Dead tanks also lead to progression decrease. And I am pretty sure at least one of our hunters TRIES to keep up scorpid sting on most boss fights. That being said please let the app answer the questions.
Developers: "Our nerfs will blot out the sun." Paladins: "Then we will QQ in the shade."
Just gonna hit a few quick points I found interesting in your app that I would like you to respond to because they stuck out to me.
First one:
"Why have you chosen to apply to Downfall?:
I have chosen to apply to downfall for the less hard-core 25 man raids and 10 mans."
Although these are "easier" to get into than our MH/BT/SWP raids, for me at least I generally assume that a majority of people who app to downfall wish to raid in general. Therefore I personally look for something more substansive for the answer to this question.
Second:
"What things might cause you to leave?:
Lack of active members, being ignored in g-chat."
Although never purposely done, the italized part does sometimes happens due to raids or people focused on other things atm. Not saying it will always happen but this does worry me because I have seen it happen at times.
Final thing is rather something you didn't mention in terms of your specs raid viability and utility. You mentioned the obvious 5% spellcrit from being a boomkin, but do you take imp insect swarm to help with tank mitigation, what about imp faerie fire so the melee can stack less hit with you in a raid.
I look forward to your answers.

Thank you for your application to Downfall. We are doing minimal recruiting for our 25 man MH/BT/SW raids. This does not mean that your application is or will be rejected. What it does mean, is that you will now be faced with a few tasks.
Downfall is a community first and foremost and a successful raiding guild second. First you need to ask yourself what it is you want from Downfall. If it's a spot in end game raid, and nothing more...then you may want to seek entry into another one of the many guilds on Gorgonnash.
If you desire a strong sense of community then get ready to work for it! When we talk about community, we aren't talking about the type of community that jumps when you say OMGRUNMYALTTHRUVC!!!! We're talking about a group for people who love this game we pour our lives into, people who will run things with you when they have time, people who may have their own special way of contributing to the community.
Now that you have applied (and if my wall of text didn't lose u 2 paragraphs ago), don't just sit there and hope someone will come hunt you down and say "HERE'S YOUR INVITE!!" because that simply will not happen. Those who gain entry into Downfall work for it. Members have waited upwards of 3 months or more to be part of our community. How do you ensure that you have every option to be the next addition?
Here's an idea:
Stay active on this thread, it's your application. You will receive feedback and recommendations. Don't take anything personal, if you can't take constructive criticism, you will never make it in guild chat. Applications are open to the entire community, not just officers, so if you were a douche to a member in the past, be ready for it to bite you in the ass.
If given goals to meet, make them.
Sign up for events you can make and which you are geared for. No need to sign up for MH/BT/SW, as those aren't testing grounds for new members. Focus on the Sunday Gruul/Mag run by yours truly or the Saturday SSC/TK run by Grasen.
If you sign up...show up. No one likes an app who signs up for all raids and never shows. Be sure to send a tell to the raid leader so he/she knows you are available and ready to rock.
Download the raid pack. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT show up to a Gruul/Mag or SSC/TK without our required add ons. If you do not understand what you are looking at, then research it. If you still don't understand, post you're question and someone will help you. (If you think only bad players use mods, we can say our goodbyes right now)
Do everything you can to get your name out there, and show why you should be part of our community. Run 5 mans, Run 10 mans, participate in forum discussions.
If and when you are accepted into Downfall, you are strictly on a trial basis. If we invite you because you convinced us you were the worlds greatest healer/tank/random dps class, and you looooooooooove to run 5 mans...but you never run a thing, you never sign up for fun runs, and you burn out and don't sign on for 1+ months, don't be surprised if you find yourself guildless on log in one day.
It's very simple, don't say what we want to hear just to get in, because it will haunt you in the end. Be honest, and we will be fair.
I know him IRL good friend of mine we always play together, he's looking more to chill and do like SSC, Tk and Za and stuff. Overall a competent player who would be an excellent addition.

It's very simple, don't say what we want to hear just to get in, because it will haunt you in the end. Be honest, and we will be fair.
With that said....GOOD LUCK ON YOUR APPLICATION!
