Comparing how I did these attempts with the LF1Hamfist my DPS is night and day. For LF1Hamfist I was up top where the mobs last longer and allow more DPS time. More time = scorch x5 + Fire ball = more DPS globally from fire mages.
The elementals take 2 shots. I start with a 2.5 second fireball, the elemental is half way to the top by the time I hit him (cast complete start a new cast) if Fire blast is up I use that and it dies otherwise I use another 2.5 second cast... unless the mobs are out off control then I use Fire breath and/or blast wave... the mob reaches the top but then quickly dies.
I think we were short on malee(?) Watching the instant distruction of the elementals at the hands of the malee gave me dps envy... I can't remeber who had side one, but I would start my cast, he would see the elemental untouched and rush over smack a few times and either kill it or get it to <10% before I was finishing my first cast.
I like catching/throwing the core... blink makes it really easy to get in position really fast.
It would suck to have to cover adds as Frost. There were a few times when Fire blast was on CD so instinctively I tried Ice Lance to kill the last 1% of the elemental.
Over all I think my DPS was poor and can be better.
Edit: Meant to add that I wnt complain because this is an awesome fight and I <3 raiding

Like Atar said, dps needs to be higher on the striders and people need to pay attention to their surroundings more to avoid being one-shot by spawns, but all around it's a great start. Tanks need to be a bit quicker picking up the adds, but the core throwing looks solid. Basically, a little more endurance and she's dead this week!
Saturday's Vashj attempts
Atar — Mon, 02/25/2008 - 09:53Saturday's Vashj attempts were really solid. Only saw phase 3 once, but it's a start. What can we improve for our next attempts? DPS around the board has to be higher. Striders seem to be standing too long (although, I've never been up top so I'm not too sure).
We'll be hitting SSC again this week. I'd like to get Hydros, Lurker, and Leo down on Wednesday. Thurday get Tidewalker, Fathomlord, and get a couple of shots on Vashj again.
I'm hoping we can get Vashj down either this week or the next. It's due time that we get back to TK and try Kael.
