Karli — Tue, 11/11/2008 - 12:06I'll be there in spirit...Kybosh is snagging our copies from the nearby mall and I'm SURE I'll be awake based on the hours I've been keeping. Maybe you'll see me log in after he gets home. =P

lesda — Tue, 11/11/2008 - 16:45Out of curiousity,... was there a big patch today?
Being that Wrath is only a mere day away,...
Not client side. That was

Server side I'd guess was patched again this week.
Line for Warcraft’s
lesda — Thu, 11/13/2008 - 12:02Line for Warcraft’s ‘Lich King’ grows to 1,000+ in Anaheim

Watch the video of the event HERE.
Joe Simmons, a blog contributor, is out in Anaheim at the Fry’s Electronics where the ‘World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King” goes on sale at midnight. It’s the second expansion to the massively popular online game from Irvine developers at Blizzard Entertainment. Since Blizzard is based in O.C., Anaheim is the place to be tonight because a ton of Blizzard artists, developers and employees will be waiting inside the store to sign autographs for fans. Here’s Joe’s latest report at around 10:30 p.m.:
The line is insanely long. Easily over a thousand people. It wraps all the way around the building, goes through the back alley and all the way down the chain link fence. And then it goes down the entire parking lot.
Speaking of parking, the parking isn’t too bad. I don’t know what the deal is, whether people are being dropped off. In fact, I’m standing in three parking spots right now.

One thing I did learn is that if you bought a pre-release at Fry’s, you get it tomorrow. You can’t get it tonight. It’s first come, first serve tonight, manager Bob told me. He wouldn’t elaborate. All he would say is, “We have good line control and it’s not the first time we’ve done this.”
I expect them to run out of games. Since this is a global launch, I’m pretty sure they’re going to break -million in sales by tomorrow night.
Oh, there are freebies. There’s also some outsiders here. The KROQ van is here and being the obnoxious KROQ dudes. They’re shouting stuff at the people in line like, ‘Do you have a girlfriend.” There’s also a Hot Dog on a Stick mobile here. It’s getting a steady stream of customers, but no long lines for hot dogs. On a stick.
It’s kind of nutty. I feel like I’m at a county fair. The smell of hot dogs doesn’t help.
They didn’t have any Port-A-Potties here last night, which made it uncomfortable for the guys who were here since yesterday. They told me that they just had to go out into the street. Tonight, there are 14 Port-a-potties.
I’m heading in for an interview with Rob Pardo, Blizzard’s executive vice president of game design, and then we start the count down to midnight. Tick tock.
LOL -- just got my copy,...
lesda — Thu, 11/13/2008 - 13:51LOL -- just got my copy,... walked in and out of Best Buy in under 5 minutes.
I guess all I lost was the bragging rights of being one of a few million that got theirs right at midnight !! :)
Can't wait 'til I get home to start playing with it,...
See you guys in BT !!!!

Wrath
Fjork — Tue, 10/21/2008 - 11:00So on a random event-note.
Who's planning on 5man's till 73-74 to avoid the initial massive server lag that will be accompanied by the release?
Also, are the BC instances gonna start giving full xp? I'm thinking the Outland instance-servers will be preferable to leveling above Northrend at first.
I know "new content, new content, SHUT UP YOU N00B NEW CONTENT!!!". However, since Pedran/Fjork have no pvp gear whatsoever, they are going to be slaughtered on a minute by minute basis I'm guessing. So if I'm lucky I'll get Pedran prot-geared out with a few KoT runs and another KZ run or two (5/12), then I'm hoping to tank my way through the start of Northrend.
Anyone on board? Friday Night 5mans?
Outlands instances will not
Adwarflol — Sat, 11/08/2008 - 18:40Outlands instances will not give xp, outlands won't probably. The initial rush won't be that bad, it wasn't that bad in BC either and with 2 quest hubs in the first zone the masses will be diluted.
There's 2 starting zones,
Dufe — Sat, 11/08/2008 - 22:22There's 2 starting zones, each with technically 4-5 quest hubs.
They'll give xp. Northrend xp
saedo — Sat, 11/08/2008 - 19:25They'll give xp.
Northrend xp is far better though. And won't go green/grey as fast as Outland will
