So I have been trying to decide which starting area to choose. I know that Dufe said that he is going to be in Borean Tundra and since he is somewhat the resident Beta tester for the guild that is the direction I was leaning but I didn't have any other reason for this choice. So I was hoping that I could get some people who have made that decision too post where they were starting and why to get a better feel for good place to go.

I'll be there in Borean

Dufe — Wed, 11/12/2008 - 18:27Just to restate it here for anyone who didn't see it in the other thread:
Howling Fjord has alot of steep cliffs/deep valleys that slow down questing a bit, as you often have to go the long-way around several times for a single quest/chain. In addition, a higher percentage of the quests require backtracking to previous quest hubs. For mainly these reasons, I believe that Borean Tundra will be faster for initial leveling. There may be other factors that outweigh this issue for other players, such as the distribution of resources for various gathering professions.
I'll be in the tundra, as
