Wrath Raid 2 Sign Ups
WRATH RAID 2
It’s time to start thinking about Raid 2 for WotLK. LF1M was a huge success. It gave people a chance to raid that wouldn’t have had that opportunity any where else. Now that that is behind us, a new raid will form from its ashes.
Downfall’s Raid 2 will be a more laid back raid, but with similar goals has Raid 1. We will be running fewer days and hours than Raid 1, so that means we have to buckle down from the start to make any kind of progression for ourselves.
Before you sign up please be aware of these guidelines and be sure to understand them. Making a roster for Raid 2 will not be as hard as it was back when I made LF1M. Downfall is a HUGE guild with many resources to pick and choose from. I need folks that will be dedicated and stick it out to the end.
Raid Schedule
Our raid times will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. We will be raiding from 6pm to 9pm PST. These days and times worked really well for LF1M so I’d like to keep it the same for Raid 2. One of my main goals is to not burn out my raiders. I understand people have lives and enjoy doing things outside of WoW. This is a very chill raid schedule. If it’s not your cup of tea you can sign up for Raid 1.
Attendance
If you want to raid your attendance will be a prime factor. I need raiders that can commit to being in raid on time, prepared, and know what the hell they are doing. I don’t want to raid with someone that is going to be late two out of the three nights. If this will be a problem for you then you are looking for the wrong raid. Attendance is the key to being in this raid. With only raiding three nights a week for three hours we cannot afford to be waiting on people that can’t be online on time.
Knowing your Class
I expect people to know their class they have signed up for. Know what your job is and know how to play well. This raid isn’t the place to learn your class. If you are character switching or spec switching for Wrath you should know that you do not have a guaranteed spot in this raid. You must first prove to me and my raid officers that you are capable of doing your raid job and can perform well in a 25man raid environment. If you are one of these people you’re really going to have to put in a ton of work to be considered a viable option for a raid spot.
Being a Team Player
Raid 2 raiders will need to work as a team. I want everyone in this raid to enjoy their time while in raid and want to come back. That means you should know your strats, coming to raid prepared, and leaving the attitudes at the door. If you’re a dick, loot whore, QQer if you don’t get everything your way, or anything similar please don’t waste my time and yours. Raid 2 will be a solid team and I want everyone to work well with each other.
I’ll go ahead and say this now to get it out of the way……Just because you sign up does not mean you have a guaranteed raid spot. Everyone will have to prove themselves.
I want raiding in Wrath to be a great experience for Raid 2. I enjoy having a laid back raid that gets things done while having fun. If you’ve ever raided with me you know what I’m talking about. Now with Wrath out many doors are open to both new and old guild members. So if you’re up for being in a dedicated, serious, but chill raid this is the choice for you.

We moved back to the one in the sticks for about a month now, and I thought we were moving back to the lake house in the beginning of January. Basically, the only internet I can get at the house in the sticks is through my cell phone, and I have alot of latency problems on it. I normally run about 400 - 600 latency on it just running around and questing, but I have seen it spike to 3-4k. Yea, I couldn't even buff myself. At the lake house, I will have high speed and I NEVER had any problems with latency. I'm going to try and work something out, but if not, I may not be able to raid until the end of January or beginning of February. I will be trying to go to Atar's house from time to time until we move back, but I have strick parents and they don't like me going over there more than 2 nights during the week, and I have a curfew, but they are pretty lenient on that.
Basically, this is just a heads up. I really want to raid, but if I'm not doing my max dps, or I can't stay out of fire because i'm lagging, what good am I?
I also understand that this may mean that come February, I may not have a raid spot becuase its been filled. Which I totally understand.

I've only got one hunter signed up as of right now. A second would be great. The same thing goes for a warlock and mage.
I'm really liking the way our healer situation is looking like. I'm thinking of running two of every class for the healing assignments.
Keep the sign ups coming. Raid 2 will be starting before we know it!

However...I am a healer, I've always raided as a healer, and I suspect I'll miss it...so I won't shed a single solitary tear if I end up throwing chain hax around Raid 2!!!

moriella — Tue, 11/18/2008 - 23:48NO, it doesnt have the HPS of holy, and never will. It doesnt need it. It's the only spec in the game that can instantly shield the damaged party member for 3k+ damage, then hit penance (1.8 sec channeled) and heal 10k, proc a crit on penance (it's three ticks in 1.8sec= 3 chances to crit - oh and shield can proc a crit as well!) If you stack crit, one of those ticks is going to proc DA, instantly shielding and absorbing the 30% of healing done in damage to the target. Also Grace WILL be up and stacked 3 times, giving 3% damage reductiona and 6% bonus to healing. If you immediatly follow your penance with a g heal, theres another 7-10k heal.
That is an amazing amount of healing thruput and damage mitigation in a short period of time. Penance is on a short CD, 8-10sec - therefore this HPS cant be continual or it would be totally OP. however, I never 'needed' penance and it not be available.
Tonight in Pinnacle and Lightning there were times when our tank was getting hammered, it's very conforting that when his health suddendly dropped to 16% I could effortlessly bring him to full in 4.3 seconds and then thanks to the shields , drop out of 5sr or heal another party member.
It needs a little tweaking, but it's very viable and brings so much strenght to the table it cant be over looked even now.
It's nice to hear a rogue say, 'im dead' and then almost instantly it seems, pop him back to almost full health
When another party member gets temp aggro, I can instantly shield them, then renew and forget them
It's very viable - if you want to 'top the meters' it's not your spec. If your raid doesnt understand what you really add to the raid, it's not your spec.
But, it CAN be a damn good spec

starstalker — Mon, 11/24/2008 - 17:31Before the patch, I took my disc/holy priest to hyjal with a fun run. While I was not the top of the meters by any stretch, I still managed to beat a few others. Aside from meters though, I did enjoy the focus on mitigation and prevention, rather than mass overhealing. Definetly an interesting role now.
