Wrath Raid 2 Sign Ups
WRATH RAID 2
It’s time to start thinking about Raid 2 for WotLK. LF1M was a huge success. It gave people a chance to raid that wouldn’t have had that opportunity any where else. Now that that is behind us, a new raid will form from its ashes.
Downfall’s Raid 2 will be a more laid back raid, but with similar goals has Raid 1. We will be running fewer days and hours than Raid 1, so that means we have to buckle down from the start to make any kind of progression for ourselves.
Before you sign up please be aware of these guidelines and be sure to understand them. Making a roster for Raid 2 will not be as hard as it was back when I made LF1M. Downfall is a HUGE guild with many resources to pick and choose from. I need folks that will be dedicated and stick it out to the end.
Raid Schedule
Our raid times will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. We will be raiding from 6pm to 9pm PST. These days and times worked really well for LF1M so I’d like to keep it the same for Raid 2. One of my main goals is to not burn out my raiders. I understand people have lives and enjoy doing things outside of WoW. This is a very chill raid schedule. If it’s not your cup of tea you can sign up for Raid 1.
Attendance
If you want to raid your attendance will be a prime factor. I need raiders that can commit to being in raid on time, prepared, and know what the hell they are doing. I don’t want to raid with someone that is going to be late two out of the three nights. If this will be a problem for you then you are looking for the wrong raid. Attendance is the key to being in this raid. With only raiding three nights a week for three hours we cannot afford to be waiting on people that can’t be online on time.
Knowing your Class
I expect people to know their class they have signed up for. Know what your job is and know how to play well. This raid isn’t the place to learn your class. If you are character switching or spec switching for Wrath you should know that you do not have a guaranteed spot in this raid. You must first prove to me and my raid officers that you are capable of doing your raid job and can perform well in a 25man raid environment. If you are one of these people you’re really going to have to put in a ton of work to be considered a viable option for a raid spot.
Being a Team Player
Raid 2 raiders will need to work as a team. I want everyone in this raid to enjoy their time while in raid and want to come back. That means you should know your strats, coming to raid prepared, and leaving the attitudes at the door. If you’re a dick, loot whore, QQer if you don’t get everything your way, or anything similar please don’t waste my time and yours. Raid 2 will be a solid team and I want everyone to work well with each other.
I’ll go ahead and say this now to get it out of the way……Just because you sign up does not mean you have a guaranteed raid spot. Everyone will have to prove themselves.
I want raiding in Wrath to be a great experience for Raid 2. I enjoy having a laid back raid that gets things done while having fun. If you’ve ever raided with me you know what I’m talking about. Now with Wrath out many doors are open to both new and old guild members. So if you’re up for being in a dedicated, serious, but chill raid this is the choice for you.

Hello! The raids times that
broptimus — Wed, 12/31/2008 - 16:02Hello! The raids times that have been set for this raid sound perfect for me! I would love to be considered for an invite for this :D
Well that's why I was saying
pulga — Mon, 12/08/2008 - 15:05Well that's why I was saying if the mechanics stay the same. The mechanics involved might possibly be bugged. I'm just willing to try whatever build ends up being the highest damage build, even if the highest damage build might only be .1% ahead of the others.
Then in all technically it's
saedo — Mon, 12/08/2008 - 15:09Then in all technically it's HaT (if you got the right setup for it while it's still bugged) > Mutilate > Combat. For single target uninterrupted boss fights. But not everyone can play effectively as mutilate.
Right now I switched to a 1.3
pulga — Mon, 12/08/2008 - 14:54Right now I switched to a 1.3 speed dagger, and coppied saedo's spec. Still waiting to test it out in a raid setting, though. As for HaT, I did some reading on it, and if the mechanics behind the build stay the same, putting two rogues specced HaT plus 3 high crit classes could mean ridiculous dps.
People are highly suspecting
saedo — Mon, 12/08/2008 - 14:59People are highly suspecting HaT is bugged right now. Extra combo points per HaT rogue in group, that really doesn't sound right. And even if it does remain the same, the scaling on it is not as good. Evis does not scale with weapon, so eventually Sinister Strike and Mutilate builds will move ahead.
I will be posting a roster at
Atar — Mon, 12/08/2008 - 09:09I will be posting a roster at the end of this week. Myself and the other officers have been putting a lot of work into selecting raiders for a solid 25man. Keep leveling, running heroics, or talking with Gares, Aidin, Roguered, or myself. If you have any questions please feel free to ask one of us.
Class Complications
Vulk — Fri, 12/05/2008 - 15:40I do not know yet If I will be needed or not, but I figure I should let the raid officers know what to expect the first couple weeks if I do get a spot.
I signed up for classes a while back and the Chemistry (on Mondays and Wednesdays) I was wanting in filled up before I had time to blink. Therefor I had to sign up for the evening class on Tuesdays and Thursdays because it was the only one that fit into my schedule. This class starts at 6:00pm and ends at 9:50, leaving the next bus I can catch home at 10:15 putting me at my house just a few minutes before midnight (huge atar sigh). For the first week or so my schedule will blow ass, my day will start at 7:00 am and end at 12:00am the next day, but I have a plan.
This class being a 5 credit class that is known to be difficult it is inevitable few people will drop it. I am the first one signed up on the waiting list to get in so once a spot opens I will be right there taking that class instead freeing up my evenings to raid.
If you want me to DPS, Tank, or Heal, I'm up for any of it! I just want to have fun raiding. If I dont get in no worries, I've never been one to run to my corner and qq. Im a "glass is half full" kind of guy, I'll just view it as extra time to study, hang with friends or pick up dog poo from the yard lol.
So I have a post in both
pulga — Thu, 12/04/2008 - 18:17So I have a post in both threads: I'm a combat rogue. Currently I'm swords, but I'm willing to respec to whatever blizzard decides to make the best spec.
They're all kinda the "best"
saedo — Fri, 12/05/2008 - 01:58They're all kinda the "best" spec.
Mutilate - Single target, murderable, uninterrupted boss fights. Most "difficult" to play, requires a lot of attention watching timers, combo points, and energy. You want a fast MH and a good OH, speed gives Focused Attacks and Poisons an advantage, but high enough dps slow daggers do out do speed. Also, it may currently be bugged, at this point, Mutilate OH is double proc'ing poisons. If this remains, you want to switch to fast OH to take advantage of the bug for that extra dps.
Combat - Multi-target, coordinated CD burst dps. Easy spam away type to play. Pretty set cycles with occasional luck procs thrown in. The twist here for you is swords doesn't matter. Itemization is near crap for swords with all the 1.6-1.5 speed ones. Also with Prey to the Weak crit gained more value, in turn an indirect buff to both Fists and Daggers through Close Quarter Combat. And conveniently, daggers are the only 1.4-1.3 spd capable weapons out there for all that Poison and Combat Potency goodness. Currently there is also a bug associated with this build, Glyph of Adrenaline also reduces Killing Spree CD by 60 sec. That would make this a very good Glyph atm (w/ SS and Rupture, drop SnD), while it lasts.
Subtlety - HaT, kinda reluctant to say much about this. Could very well be bugged atm. But, highly dependent on group composition. A very "easy" spec in that all you really do is watch the CPs build up and spam Eviscerate. With the right group CPs come every fast and you're more likely to be energy starved and just waiting for the next Evis. (SnD and Rupture kept up inbetween too).
I'd like to raid with you
lesda — Thu, 12/04/2008 - 14:45I'd like to raid with you guys also,...
I've always healed but can also try dps -- if thats what's needed.
Sorry for the late entry,... thought I had a spot in Raid 1 :(
Also heard that "ladies" can be vicious wow players -- and your full of 'em :)

Ky and I technically have
Karli — Wed, 12/03/2008 - 08:59Ky and I technically have completely open availability for this raid; baby pending. If we find it too hard to get our son into a schedule (i.e. napping while we raid or at least not being fussy) then we will remove our names from this sign up, but I definitely think it's possible that we'll have things settled into a good routine by the time this raid starts.
I would also really love to
Atar — Wed, 12/03/2008 - 08:33I would also really love to see Runhilan trying out for a raid spot. Everything I ran with him in TBC was always good. Good damange and great attitude. My kind of people.

That's where I got all the strats needed for the entire instance in 10-man. It covers 25-man abilities as well.
I've been trying to make a
Atar — Tue, 12/02/2008 - 10:51I've been trying to make a roster today from those that have signed up. Not a final roster, but something to get my cats in a row. It looks like this raid will be melee heavy again. I'm really lacking in the ranged department. As of now I only see four people that can make the days and times that can fill a ranged spot. I'd really love to see some more hunters, mages, and warlocks signing up.
Another thing that has been on my mind as well are DKs. Would having two DPS DK's be viable? I really don't have any information to answer my question. Maybe some of you DK gods could help me out there.
I'm also really looking into LOL feral dps. If I can keep up with the rest of the dps that might be an option for me to take. We'll see though.
More of my thoughts to come....
I say raid 2 starts an hour
garreth — Wed, 12/03/2008 - 17:56I say raid 2 starts an hour after Atar hits 80.

Atar — Tue, 12/02/2008 - 11:40I've been thinking about an elemental shaman for a ranged dps spot too. I'd like to compare the dps between one and a mage/warlock. Any thoughts?
more DK stuff
everstar — Tue, 12/02/2008 - 11:19dont mind this post, accidental!

Two DK's is certainly viable,
Shihli — Tue, 12/02/2008 - 10:57Two DK's is certainly viable, however you would want to make sure they are different specs to get the most out of them.
I'd probably suggest having a blood DK (like everstar) for physical dps buffs, and an Unholy dps-specced DK for Ebon Plaguebringer (13% more spelldamage for the few casters you have).
I can help on the Unholy side of things, Quisjaa and Everstar can help with the Blood - at least as far as how to spec is concerned.
Thanks for the input. I'm
Atar — Tue, 12/02/2008 - 11:36Thanks for the input. I'm still learning about DK's and what they bring. Sounds like some really cool stuff.
