Proof Keyloggers are Gold Selling Sites

MY proof! Today the servers have been down so I have been in IRC as well as spamming refresh on tracker page every 5 minutes trying to keep myself entertained. I've been on Maybe an hour. 7 Seperate Pop ups have come up. ALL have been gold selling sites. ALL of them. Now I sure as hell have never bought gold. I borrow it then pay back in-game. My brother has bought gold and I'm pretty sure he's the one who went to one of the sites. They have been 2 sites. Just my 2 cents. HELP ME BUILD THE LINUX BOX ALREADY G

Yup
Mashedtater — Tue, 11/25/2008 - 23:31I picked up some nasties on my comp a few days ago, or at least thats when I noticed some odd behavior and found oodles of malware. One was an identified keylogger so after I got rid of it, I changed all my passwords. Of course I won't feel clean again until I format. Soon as finals are over, I'm nukin this baby and changin my passwords again....
On a side note, I have NOD32 and a couple other programs installed and none detected the infection. Ended up Ad-aware and Malwarebites found some of them. They all say I'm clean now, but I disagree because occasionally my router log shows some scandalous sites being contacted. I think a lot of the antivirus/malware programs are a means of detection more than a means of defense. When in doubt, get the Windows disk out.
If anyone isn't running
Dufe — Tue, 11/25/2008 - 17:01If anyone isn't running Firefox with the NoScript addon, a SOLID antivirus product, AND full automatic updates on every possible piece of installed software, it's only a matter of time before they get a "breach" of some sort. Seriously, IT WILL HAPPEN. Get yourself protected.
I think there will be less and less sympathy for those who are hacked through patchable/blockable exploits as time goes on. You need to take the little amount of time required to protect yourself. Yes, you could still get hit even doing all these things, but it reduces the likelihood dramatically.
