I need your help web builders.

So I'm in the process of building a website for my brother's company for advertisement help. I have built websites both in dream weaver and flash.
Basically I need a web host that allows me to host via FTP, if you have any suggestions it will be greatly appreciated. I shouldn't need more then a gig of space and bandwidth should be pretty low.
Also need help determining whether to do flash or dream weaver. I am only look at a 3 page setup. index consisting of company information and a few pictures, a coupon link, and a gallery link of homes we've done. I heard a lot of people don't like flash websites so please let me know.
All help is appreciated!!!! (also need to buy the domain)

I'm not sure if you still
jeremyj — Mon, 12/15/2008 - 11:09I'm not sure if you still need a web host, but http://www.bluehost.com is a host I use and they are great. I've referred several people to them and they've worked great. They have a great affiliate program in addition to having all the features you could want (unlimited space, unlimited bandwidth, FTP, domains, sub domains, and tons more). I will not link my affiliate URL here as I would consider that tactless spamming, even if it would get me $75 if you signed up (and stayed for 3 months).
As to what to use, for a 3 page simple site, you could use notepad. But if you have access to dreamweaver, I'd go with that. Sites are much easier to maintain and develop with simple HTML as opposed to flash - though you can do some cool stuff in flash.
What i've heard is that
Sabre — Wed, 12/03/2008 - 00:46What i've heard is that having a web page all in flash is hard to get hits on a search engine. Something about the coding and tags i guess. Check out google analytics, Garreth probably knows all about this.
I would probably create a website with dreamweaver and insert flash elements here and there where needed. Or another possiblity, although time consuming is to create a flash enabled site and a non flash site.
just some thoughts, im not an html flash guru or anything. I also would like to know if you find a web hosting site for ftp and such. I've been wanting to play with google maps api and flash for awhile now.

And between Flash and Dreamweave I'm of two minds.
I want to say "Flash" because if you do it right, the website can be seemless and beautiful to the point of perfection.
But I'm inclined to say Dreamweaver for not only simplicities sake, but also future upkeep. As a company, they will most likely ask you to edit, recreate, etc the website many times to THEIR satisfaction, even if the changes are insignificant. In Dreamweaver alot of the 'seemingly insignificant' changes really are. In Flash, they can be extremely time-consuming.
What I did way back when was actually have a VERY minimal banner across the top in Flash that I could use to create a navigation pane simply by having the user move their mouse over it. It was a simplistic design that was easy to change (or remove) since alot of the coding for the navigation pane was in HTML.
On the rest of your questions?
Get with Carno.
