To clarify more. I was using felsteel's raid as an EXAMPLE. I was simply trying to state that at a point where we had 2 strong raids going on, we also had enough people to get something going. With Garreth talking of bringing other guilds and such into our guild and basically expanding that while it may not have worked in the past, im sure something can be formed.

The raid fell apart for various reason, people not even showing up, lack of commitment , i had some SERIOUS RL issues that came up. Im working on being in Raid:Salmon with some high hopes. If not i might try to bring together some of the rest of the members of the guild and form a 10-man since there will be alot more content for that size of raid now. Who knows we might bring a few of the 10-mans together and take on some 25-mans here and there. That is of course G gives us his blessing and if the situation arises. :)

Shihli — Thu, 12/04/2008 - 15:26I wouldn't want to be in their shoes right now, no - not because they are raid leaders (because I'm already one, oh god), but rather because they have to deal now with the questions stemming from the people that feel they didn't "make it" for Raid: Kitten Brigade, and won't have any opportunities to raid beyond Gares/Atar's setup.
I just hope that of the numerous people that are wanting in on both raids, I hope they realize that a 25-man raid requires like ... 40 people to maintain. There's numerous times that people have to miss raids, and if we relied solely on 25 people we'd never have any chances to actually raid! So yeah, if people end up not coming to the first few raids of Kitten Brigade or Salmon, fear not - there's a significantly good chance you'll get your chance.

Kognus — Thu, 12/04/2008 - 15:22As fun as helping to lead a raid can be (and I have some experience with this in a small way co-leading the early Lava Crab raids in Kara with Shihli) there is pretty much nothing I would want to do less than lead a raid right now, much less a twenty-five man progression raid. Even if I had all the time in the world to play (which I don't), signing up to lead a raid is (in my opinion) like signing a contract that you aren't allowed to have fun in raids anymore. You are basically taking on all of the responsibility if anything goes wrong, whether that's fair or not is another matter, but it is what winds up happening.
Somebody not satisfied with loot? Your fault. Not fast enough progression? Your fault. Somebody in the raid really hates someone else and you don't respond by instantly kicking them from the raid? Your fault. Raid too serious for twelve raiders? Your fault. Raid to jockular and not serious enough for the other thirteen? Your fault. Most of the time this comes through in passive-agressive angst on the part of your raiders, but it is the reality.
Kudos to both Gares and Ataraxia for signing this contract not to have any more fun in raids so that everyone else can have a blast. Both are great people and great players. <3
