Looking for tech help: Hooking up an old xbox to my computer.

I have an old, original Xbox sitting around and lately I have been wanting to play through the Splintercell games just for the hell of it, and becasue they are amazing (still ahvent played the fourth one I just picked up for $3). Unfortunately I don't have a regular TV to hook it up to, just my computer.
My computer has a TV tuner installed with various plugs as well as RCA IN (the standard three yellow, red, white) plugs I hope to use. I tried plugging it in but it didn't work, I figured I need some software to make it work properly but my search turned up no results. I was wondering if any of you more tech savvy people out there had any ideas or possibly have done this before to tell me what I need.

I had an ATI all in wonder
Cdhabro — Fri, 01/09/2009 - 23:44I had an ATI all in wonder 9800 for a while and the tuner here (ati.amd.com/products/atitvwonder.html- notice the 'discontinued products' mark on the left) worked for me... you may try some at random but i have no asssurance it'll work. Star and Pedran have it right thouch, the manufacturer should have software available. Just find which hardsware piece is supplying it.
I don't know of a freeware
starstalker — Fri, 01/09/2009 - 10:59I don't know of a freeware package that will do this, but I'd go to the manufacturers webpage for whoever made your tuner and download their viewer software. Most tuner's are made by AMD/ATI, Hauppage, Avermedia, or Pinnacle.
If you are sure it is T.V.
Fjork — Fri, 01/09/2009 - 09:16If you are sure it is T.V. 'IN' and not T.V. 'OUT', then my recommendation would be to try and find out which component it is built off of (video card, sound card, etc) and get the proper software installed for it. Without the software installed (conversion, video balancing, etc) your computer won't even realize there is a signal coming in because the T.V. In and T.V. Out aren't really very common parts so they aren't normally updated with Plug and Play.
Usually it is the video card, but I know that Soundblaster Audigy at one point had a video out / video in setup.
