I can fix anything. And I don't even need duct-tape to do it.

Vulk — Sat, 01/10/2009 - 11:59As most of you have heard; my mouse is held together by a hair tie, electrical tape, shrink wrap, plastic from the clip on a BIC mechanical pencil, and now a paperclip.... No I'm not kidding and I've been using this mouse for over 3 years now, 1 year with the fix lol! Therefore I tink I fit in to the "I can fix anything" Category. :)

Lunchbox — Sat, 01/10/2009 - 11:20If my 60 year old mother who use to be a child psychologist can remodle her own kitchen by herself, then yeah anyone can do anything fix em up. I just depends on if you are too lazy to research how to do it or not.
I work in heating & air, so
Delirium — Sat, 01/10/2009 - 10:02I work in heating & air, so the most plumbing I do is running condensation lines for a unit. I do know some basic carpentry, never done much trimwork or roofing though. I'm not too familiar with cars other than knowing how to drive one, Cindy probably knows more about cars than I do. So it's not entirely true in my case... :P
Number 17 was my eagle scout
Roguered — Fri, 01/09/2009 - 12:19Number 17 was my eagle scout project I did for my church. Included putting in the tubing to keep wood chips in and putting in the chain link fence around it. As for the others, I've done a number of them doing maintence in the fraternity I lived in....so many things had to be fixed there....mainly walls from idiots punching holes in them when they got drunk and pissed off.

Pettingzoo — Sat, 01/10/2009 - 15:03My eagle scout project was to build the team dug out benches and scorekeepers box for the softball field. The score keepers box is the single most over-engineered thing I've ever had a hand in, haha.
After a rather unique RL
Fjork — Fri, 01/09/2009 - 09:01After a rather unique RL aggro yesterday, (two blown shut-off valves, a broken flow-valve in a toilet, and two busted faucets), I began to wonder just how accurate everyone's preconception is when it comes to nerds being unable to use tools in the slightest. I blew my neighbor/best friend's mind because not only did I KNOW plumbing, I knew plumbing better than he did (he used to do maintenance for apt complex).
So, bearing that in mind, can YOU (not your spouse/other) do any or all of the following:
Out of curiosity, how many can you do?
Would you believe I specifically listed things I've done in the last year and a half? I hate that my wife knows that I can work with any/all tools......
First of all I would never
jaibyrd — Fri, 01/09/2009 - 13:27First of all I would never admit to being able to do any of those things because Hubby would then assume I WANTED to do those things. Also I find that even though he brings home most of the bacon he feels like the King only when he has a tool somethingie jammed into some whatsit. So if I had to say can I do...possibly if forced (have in the past some of those3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 12, 17, part of 18 and 19)...I will deny all present and future knowledge. I don't want to do those things, well sometimes I do behind his back if its an 'omg the water should not be coming from there' sort of moment but I do NOT tell him of my capabilities and neither will any of you if you want to stay alive...yes that may be an actual threat (I'm waving a scroll saw above my head)
i have done most of those for
Grasen — Fri, 01/09/2009 - 11:52i have done most of those for customers over the past year myself as well, only one i have never done before is #14, But i could do it,
I wish I could say I had
Fjork — Fri, 01/09/2009 - 12:01I wish I could say I had gotten paid for all of those things. The reseating of the doorframe was surprisingly easy. The running of the brakes? OMG.
Though nooky counts when the wifey gets all excited because I'm all dressed up like a handy-man right?
I'm not going to go through
Dragon — Fri, 01/09/2009 - 09:41I'm not going to go through all of them and will instead just give you the same answer that you got for you poll.
Sure, gimme enough time and three trips to Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.
