A little Linux help...

I decided to post something a little more useful than my previous forum posts or blog entries. I recently decided to jump over to Linux and so far I'm loving it.
There have been quite a few times however that I just sat at my computer screen looking at the monitor trying to figure out what to do and do it withoutscrewing anything up. I've found a few links I'd like to share to help anyone else who might be as new to this as I am. Now, some of this might not apply to a lot of you since I'm running an AMD/ATI system with Linux....which apparently isn't the easiest thing to tackle.
Where I decided to start learning was the terminal, this guide helped me quite a bit:
http://linux.org.mt/article/terminal
It shows the basics of the terminal and goes into some commands (not all of them).

With my system, I had an unusual/rare graphics issue. My minimap was causing graphics flickering, I had to X out of my minimap immediately on load in or I'd have to exit game completely and try again. I eventually found a mod called "MoveAnything!" to turn off my minimap completely, which was really weird for me at first but I'm getting used to it. I haven't had a problem since!

This is a work in progress, as I find useful links that would apply to most Linux users, I plan on posting them here to help others. If anyone else has a neat guide or whatever to share, please comment. I have yet to scratch the surface I'm sure and would appreciate it greatly. Hopefully this will take out some of the tedious searching I've already done.

Del, I've got a ton of links
garreth — Sun, 01/18/2009 - 02:03Del, I've got a ton of links for you and others who have moved to Ubuntu (Kati and Core). I practically live on ubuntuforums.org and a few blogs. It's so f'ing rad that you dove into Ubuntu, I'm really really happy with it.
