greifing at the Naxx summon stone

moriella's picture

moriella — Thu, 01/29/2009 - 07:35

Last night as we were getting everyone into Naxx , several of us were typhooned/feared etc INTO the instance portal.  It happened to me at least twice.  We joked about it abit in raid and someone even made the comment 'stupid horde dont realize they are typhooning me the WRONG way.'

Well guys, it's a griefing tactic and I wanted to bring it up here before it happens to YOU.

Naxx is an odd instance in that it doesnt save you to a raid when you kill the first boss.  It saves you ON ENTRANCE.  Griefers are hoping you are not saved and not yet in your raid.  If you are unsaved to an instance, and not yet a member of raid - you could very easily lose your shot at naxx for the week as once you zone in you get a raid instance number.  If it's diff to that of your nights raid - you are hosed.

I predict if it's not patched, next tuesday, when no one is assigned an instance yet - w/o proper precautions this could be huge, that is - if it doesnt happen to a guildie before then.  For safety safe - be in raid before you even fly to the naxx stone area.

If you are in a 25 man raid and the instance is not set for heroic and you get zoned in - you could be saved to a 10 man if you havnt done it yet for the week.  I hope this did not happen to any of us last night  unknowingly

Its been an issue for a long

Its been an issue for a long time now, where if you are in raid with someone who is already locked to a raid instance, when they zone, no matter where you are, you will be locked as well. Learned this the hard way from BC. =P

I'm actually pretty sure that

I'm actually pretty sure that Naxx does *not* save you on the initial zone-in.  Like 99% sure.

However, it is still a valid point - be careful when zoning in because your raid leaders (e.g. Quisjaa, Garreth, myself) - people who typically have "the L" in raid - if they get knocked in to an instance that they are locked into, and you zone in with them, you could still get accidentally locked.

I locked my entire 10 man

I locked my entire 10 man naxx to Salmon's 25 man naxx once...so it does work the way mori detailed.

And thunderstorming the hordies off the ledge is the greatest part of Naxx for me...lol

Yea but that doesn't make

Yea but that doesn't make Naxx an odd instance.  It's the way it works with every instance.  If raid leader is locked to something (no they don't have to be in the instance), you zone in, you're saved on entrance.   So, just make sure you set it to heroic/normal long before you're at the entrance.
