I wish moonkin deepz wasn't so rngtastic though. If I don't get a crit on my wrath in the first couple of wraths I get less eclipse procs and less starfire crits in D:.
Saedo do you have the know how/smarts to find out how much dps I'd gain/lose from that particular attempt if I had switched from +70 sp to wrath idol to a +165 sp to starfire idol?
Well can give a shot. First,

First, if you say SP the math is kinda all diff. I'm assuming you mean [40712] which by wording it's directly more damage. And [40321] which is indeed spell power.
I'm gonna assume the wrath idol is a direct increase. If it were SP, that means with a 2.0 sec cast, you'd get 2/3.5 = 0.57 of the coefficient, which doesn't sound like the wording.
Anyways, your Wrath DPS = 216955 / 157 = 1381.878981 dps.
If we'd take the 70 damage off the idol, we'd go...
So with that, the Idol gives you approx 1381.878981 - 1365.814459 = 16.064522 dps.
For Starfire, with the 3.5 sec cast and having the idol saying spell power, this works out to be direct damage as well. Coefficient is 3.5 / 3.5 = 1.0.
Anyways, Starfire DPS = 467968 / 157 = 2980.687898 dps
If we now add 165 damage off the idol, we'd go...
With that, the Idol would give you 3029.887261 - 2980.687898 dps = 49.19936314 dps.
Total Difference of 49.19936314 - 16.064522 = +33.13484114 dps
That would be my estimate, assuming you'd cast the exact same amounts with either Idol.

Having the extra "do not die" attatchment to a raid makes it much more fun (and more stressful the further in you go) and interesting than a normal "mop up naxx and d/e half the loot" run.
Not to mention that a large portion of the encounters simply call for following simple instructions/knowing the basics of raiding such as stopping dps when there is an aggro reset. Shooting for the immortal every week is great practice for the discipline we'll need in ulduar and beyond.

The general rule of thumb

1) Standing near raid members is usually bad.
2) Fire's bad.
3) Circles on the ground are bad.
Avoid those scenarios and we likely have us immortal ^^.
4) Rupta is bad.
